Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 2: A villainous aristocrat creates a flamethrower named Hair Dryer.

I gained an older sister named Felsy and a younger sister named Wendy.

It’s a strange feeling that my favorite character from the game has become my stepsister through the screen.

Well, let’s put that aside for now.

“Life is so hard!!”

“Whoa, you scared me.”

I shout out my frustrations in Father’s study.

I unintentionally slam the desk, making Father, Aslan, flinch.

Oops, maybe I shouldn’t disturb him while he’s doing his duties as the lord.

“What’s wrong, Kunou? Why did you suddenly raise your voice? Why are you crying?”

“…It’s nothing, Father.”

Since that day, Mother has been ruling the roost.

She was already strong-willed and high-ranking within the family hierarchy, but that incident solidified her dominance completely.

Now, Father is treated no better than a servant within the household.

Well, it’s entirely Aslan’s fault, so I won’t say anything.

He should reflect on his actions.

“Father, have you ever felt life is hard? For instance, not having a car makes transportation inconvenient, or not having a rice cooker means you can’t cook delicious rice, or not having a toaster means you can’t enjoy freshly baked bread.”

 This world is so inconvenient.

Even though it’s a game world and magic exists, it’s not convenient at all.

Unless you’re super wealthy, you don’t have a bath, the bread is hard and tasteless, and riding horses for transportation is a pain in the rear.

“Car? Rice cooker? Toaster? Sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“…You’re right. There’s no point in telling Father, is there?”

“What’s wrong? You seem incredibly disappointed… Is it my fault?”

“It’s just that the things I want don’t exist here, so I’m a bit shocked.”

“I don’t really understand, but if they don’t exist, why don’t you create them?”

“Even if you say something like, ‘If there’s no bread, just eat sweets,’… even if you say… Ah!! I see!! That’s it!!”

I realized that I had been reborn as a minor character, a villainous noble without even the character design from the game, and completely forgot that my beloved heroine had become my stepsister.

That’s right, I have the power of bestowed magic!!

The bestowed magic is a bit different from the usual magic known as lineage magic.

Lineage magic can only be used by those who have the bloodline of a specific family, a unique kind of magic.

The bestowed magic originally comes from the Viscount Andain family, which is Mother’s side of the family. Since I inherit Mother’s blood, I can use this magic.

Originally, it’s a magic used to imbue weapons like swords with magical enhancements. However, if used cleverly, I might be able to replicate household appliances from my previous life.

It’s definitely worth a try!!

“But when I think about making something, I can’t decide what to create…”

“What are you talking about, oni-sama!!”

“Oh, Wendy!!”

As I was contemplating, a young girl with silver hair entered Father’s study.

She’s my new family member, my step sister Wendy.

“Where’s Felsy?”

“Felsy onee-chan――I mean, Felsy onee-sama is studying etiquette with Mother!!”

“I see, she’s diligent about her studies.”

By the way, at the moment, the relationship between Mother, Felsy and Wendy is quite good.

My persuasion must have played a significant role.

Their treatment is notably different from the original story. We all eat together, and the meals are proper and nutritious.

In the game, they were practically held in captivity, surviving on leftover scraps…

Seeing Felsy and Wendy happy like this is a joy for me, as I had been supporting them.

“So, what were you talking about, oni-sama!!”

“Hmm, well, I’m thinking of making something useful with bestowed magic, but I can’t decide what to create.”

“Something useful?”

“Yeah. Wendy, is there anything you’re having trouble with, or something you wish you had that doesn’t exist here?”

“Hmm…”

Wendy tilted her head while sitting on my lap.

Oh my, my little sister has such adorable gestures.

…Oh dear, my inner “Oni-sama” personality is showing again.

“Ah, after washing your hair, it takes quite a while to dry, doesn’t it?”

“Mhm.”

Certainly, girls with long hair must have a hard time waiting for it to dry. It can damage their hair, too; it’s a unique problem for girls.

In that case, what’s needed is a hair dryer.

That should be easy to recreate with wind magic and fire magic.

“Then, first, we need to gather the materials. Ah, that’s right. Father, do we have any unused swords or something similar?”

“Huh? Oh, uh, yes. They’re stored in the warehouse…”

Father, originally a mercenary, climbed his way up to nobility through military achievements during wars.

Consequently, our estate was stocked with a quantity of weaponry that ordinary nobles wouldn’t possess.

Together with Wendy, I went to the warehouse and picked up a worn-out iron sword.

“Oni-sama, what are you planning to do?”

“Hehehe. Throughout history, those adept in the art of Enchantment Magic have intermarried with families possessing bloodline magic that synergizes well with their powers. That’s the tradition.”

“I learned that from Mother!!”

Among these traditions, there existed a type of magic that allowed the caster to freely change the shape of objects, much like clay.

“――Activation of Forming Magic!!”

I kneaded and manipulated the iron sword until it turned into a round iron ball.

“Oni-sama, that’s amazing!!”

“Heheh. I’m just getting started!!”

Next, I shaped the iron ball into something resembling a hairdryer. It looked a bit clumsy, but that was alright.

Now, if I infuse this with Enchantment Magic, adding Fire Magic and Wind Magic to it…

“Tere-tere-teree, hairdryer!!”

I explained the purpose of the hairdryer dramatically, Doraemon style.

“Oni-sama, what’s that?”

“It’s a tool for drying hair. Let’s try channeling some magic into it.”

Normally, using magic requires complex incantations and magic circles.

However, when enchanting magic onto an object, those become unnecessary.

Just by channeling magical energy, anyone can use magic.

That’s the strength of Enchantment Magic.

Anyway, enough with the explanation of Enchantment Magic. Let’s try using the hairdryer.

I channeled my magical energy into the hairdryer.

――Vwooooooooooooooooooo!!

A pillar of flame rose towards the sky.

I quickly stopped channeling magic into the hairdryer.

“…”

“…”

“…”

“Onii-sama!”

“Haa, huu…”

“Onii-sama!! Please don’t look up at the sky! If we dry hair with this, it will turn into ashes!”

“Huh? That’s strange… Oh, it’s hot!!”

The handle of the hairdryer prototype had turned red from the heat, and a charred smell wafted from my burnt hand.

“O-Onii-sama, it’s a severe burn! We need to treat it immediately!!”

While Wendy was tending to my burn, I scratched my head.

“Hmm, I didn’t expect the hairdryer to turn into a flamethrower. Let’s try adjusting the output a bit. But well, this might have its uses like this. Let’s consider it the prototype version for now.”

“Are you going to continue with this!?”

Wendy looked astonished, but this was a trait I had carried over from my past life.

I always enjoyed crafting things like plastic models, so I couldn’t help but get absorbed in projects like this.

“I’ll make the handle out of wood to prevent the heat from spreading. I’ll also lower the output a bit… There, it’s complete.”

“Is it… is it really okay?”

She instinctively moved away from me.

She was still wary after the previous fiery incident. But this time, I was confident that it was safe.

“I-I’m fine, I’m fine. Watch this,” I said confidently, channeling my magic into the device.

**BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!**

The dryer exploded.

Shards from the dryer scattered all around us, causing a chaotic mess.

“Where was it fine?!”

*Cough, cough.* “Ah, well… It was a bit of a failure. Didn’t quite go as planned.”

Despite the mishap, I couldn’t help but find this whole process incredibly enjoyable.

“Onii-sama, onii-sama!!”

“Huh? It’s okay, it’s okay!! It’ll be fine this time!!”

“No, it’s not!! The warehouse!! The warehouse is on fire!!”

“What?”

I followed Wendy’s pointed finger and saw a massive pillar of flames.

The warehouse, where Father’s cherished weapons were stored, was ablaze.

“Oh no!”

“Hey, didn’t we hear two loud noises just now?! What in the world—”

Father rushed over to the scene.

“M-my precious equipment aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!”

“Hehehe☆ Sorry about that, Father.”

“K-Knou!? W-well, I’ll scold you later!! Water!! We need water to put out the fire first!!”

Several minutes later, Mother, alerted by the commotion, arrived and used water magic to extinguish the flames.

I received a four-hour lecture from Mother, though…

“My… my… equipment…”

Father stood there in front of the charred remains of the warehouse, utterly stunned.

Seeing him like this, I couldn’t help but find it a bit amusing.

Perhaps, I do have the potential to be a villain after all.
