Chapter 18: Meeting End

“When you run into trouble, start with a warning, okay? You must warn the person, regardless of how violent the person is. If you suddenly attack, it can lead to liability problems. Especially since we have a lot of children of nobility and royalty, it’s a lot of trouble. We need to maintain the appearance that we gave them a chance to surrender.”

We had no particular objection to the idea of trying to discuss first, as it was a perfectly natural idea.

To be honest, we would have preferred it if we could solve the problem by discussing it.

“Of course, apart from enemies such as thieves and assassins, follow the guidelines thoroughly if the trouble is between students. Then ──── If possible, do not harm anyone. Killing is out of the question. If it’s out of your hands … We will… “

As soon as she finished there, Dina suddenly stuck her hand inside her uniform.

“Is she going to take out a handkerchief?” As I tilted my head, she took out a ──── small pistol from the inside pocket of her blazer.

It was smaller than a baby’s face, it was like a toy, and it did not seem to be a gun for real combat.

I heard that Dina’s favorite weapon is a sword, but can she handle a pistol? This seems too small for that …?

I’m not sure how much power or distance you can get out of that.

As I was thinking about that with the knowledge of a bare amateur, Dina stuck out the pistol in her hand.

“This is a flare gun given only to the disciplinary committee. When the muzzle is pointed up and the trigger pulled, the signal flare is launched. Use it only when you are driven into a corner and there is no time to call people. I’ll rush there right away. I’ll give you the gun and bullets later, so manage them yourself. “

Dina adds, “It doesn’t make sense to shoot downwards,” as she puts the pistol on the table.

`Is it a flare gun?’ I said convinced as Gerard senpai began to write the schedule on the blackboard.

His lines are a bit sloppy, but well … they’re still readable.

“Well, to finalize, I will decide the turns and the patrol pairs … To save time, I will decide here. First, regarding the patrol pairs, I made it so that people in the same class would be a pair. The disciplinary committee is supposed to produce just two people in each class.”

Does that mean I’m paired with His Highness Grayson?

I’m afraid to pair with His Highness, but it’s better than pairing with a stranger.

I’m not shy, but it’s too painful to be with someone I just met for the first time for barely a total of four hours.

I would never be able to carry on in a conversation.

Imagining the sight of finishing the patrol in an awkward atmosphere, I shuddered at the thought.

I was relieved to be paired with His Highness Grayson and glanced at his profile.

While I was admiring His Royal Highness Grayson, the beautiful black-haired young man, who noticed my gaze whispered, “Please take care of me.”

Looking back at the beautiful lapis lazuli eyes, that seemed to suck me in, I nodded, “Likewise.”

“For the rotation of the patrols, please check the timetable written on the blackboard. If there’s no problem, the patrol will start according to this table from tomorrow. Also, if you cannot participate in a patrol for some reason, please consult me. We will do our best to accommodate you.”

Dina-sama stepped back to the side of the blackboard so that the table could be seen easily, and tapped the surface of the blackboard.

I searched for my name, looking at the sloppy lines and the timetable written in clunky letters.

Our pair belonged to … to group two.

Then, will our first day of work be from the day after tomorrow?

Unless we’re unlucky and run into trouble, that is….

“It seems there are no oppositions. So, the disciplinary committee will now begin to look around according to this table. Today’s meeting is over, but are there any questions or opinions?”

We looked at each other and shook our heads in response to the chairman’s question.

The silver-haired beauty smiled contentedly and waved her hand in the air as we replied, “No, sir”.

“Then, I’m going to give you a gift in the hopes that this year will be better for you ──── << Wind Mentor >>”

Dina, who used a magic circle to activate wind magic, took out things one after another from the large cardboard boxes on the bookshelf.

They floated in the air, the wind spun them around our heads as they came down.

The control was delicate despite the stormy winds and landed in front of us with almost no noise.

The signal gun itself and its bullets, a printout of the meeting’s contents, and  ──── a committee badge.

At Frügel Academy, committee badges are generally only given to the chairperson, except for the student council and the public morals committee.

Since we need something that can immediately prove our job and position, we were given a committee badge.

Even though we were the worst in terms of student popularity, we were given preferential treatment.

I picked up the committee badge with the shield symbol engraved on it and stared at it.

The design of the badge was slightly different from that of the head of the Disciplinary Committee, and I hesitantly attached it to my collar.

“Now you’re all members of the disciplinary committee. Do your best to be worthy shields for Frügel Academy. I look forward to your success.”

As the head of the disciplinary committee, Dina smiled as she gave us all the encouragement she could, and declared, “Well, we’re dismissed for today!”
