Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 188: That Girl I Like

After leaving the girls’ dormitory, we headed straight for the student council office. We thought that we had not finished gathering information yet, but the student council officers were waiting for us.

“Alex-senpai, we’ve been checking on the students who are absent. . No one seems to be suffering from lung disease yet. They’ve been taking cold medicine, but …… apparently they only take it when they’re very sick..”

He is smiling bitterly. I’m sure he understands that feeling. The others were also smiled bitterly. It must be tough if you catch a cold when you live alone.

Nobles probably have servants, but if one of them catches a cold, it’s a big problem. He would have to do everything by himself. A genuine aristocrat would not be able to do such a thing.

“Um, what about the servants? There are many people working at the school besides the students, and I’m also concerned about their current situation.”

When I said this, he looked a little troubled. It seems that this was unexpected. This is why nobles are not good. There are still many aristocrats who do not think about the commoners. The same may be true of the student in front of me.

“I am going to investigate now. I thought it would be best to first ascertain the current status of the students.”

“That’s right, I’ll ask you to continue investigating. As for the magic potion, you are using the one sold in the purchasing department, right?”

“I’m sure that’s basically the case. Some people seem to be ordering it from their parents’ homes. I don’t think it makes much of a difference no matter where you buy it.”

He said with a frown. I guess the bad cold medicine is the same everywhere. Then I wonder what will happen to the cold medicine I made. Should we give priority to the school? But hey, that seems unfair. Personally, I have no intention of prioritizing the nobility. I’ll also distribute them to orphanages.

“If we’re going to use the magic potion that Julius and the others made for lung disease, what are we going to do about the cold medicine?”

“What do you mean?”

He asked, tilting his head, as if he didn’t understand what I meant. He probably didn’t think there was an easy-to-take cold remedy on the market.

This would certainly be a problem. Orders could come flooding in.

“The cold medicine Julius made is different from ordinary cold medicine. They are very easy to take. Just a few days ago, he gave them to a child who was sick, and they looked at him in disbelief.”

“I never thought there was such a cold medicine…”

“Brother, the magic potion I’m making is something I learned from grandmother. Anyone can make it if they know how.”

“I know.”

A meaningful smile. It seems that brother Alex is vaguely aware of this. He is indeed very perceptive. But if I don’t confess, he’ll never know the truth. Even now, I am adding instructions on how to make magic potions to the book grandmother gave me. I can always say, “This is exactly how to make it”. No loose ends.

“Alex-senpai, could you please give that magic potion over to the academy on a priority basis?”

“That’s not something you should be asking me to do. Julius, what do you think?”

The student council officer looks uncomfortable. The dignity of the former student council president seems to be quite strong. But he seems to lack consideration for me. Well, maybe his pride wouldn’t allow him to give consideration to a 10-year-old boy.

There are plenty of younger people with high status. You should learn to give consideration to younger people now and then. Brother Alex never lost his attitude even at the orphanage.

“I think there are many people in the capital who are suffering from colds. We can’t just give special treatment only to the academy However, the Royal Palace Magic Potion Division are also making cold medicine, So I think some of that will come around to the academy.”

“I understand how Julius feels. I also think he’s right. I’m sorry, but we can’t just give special treatment to the school.”

I did say that, but the orphanage is being patronized, isn’t it? Well, they are too poor to buy magic potions over there, so let’s just say, “ as a nobleman, I just gave them the charity they deserved”. I won’t let anyone complain.

After that, we discussed a few things and then left the student council room. Now that we’ve made the first move, there won’t be any deaths at the school. And even the whole capital. No, maybe.

“Brother, what’s going on in the capital? Could  the epidemic be spreading in the territory capital as well?”

“I am waiting to hear from them. I think I’ll get a letter back soon.”

As expected of brother Alex. He seems to have taken every precaution. If anything, I’ve been rather careless. When we get back to the townhouse, I’ll write a letter to Miss Fabienne and tell her how to make cold remedies and a magic potion for lung diseases.

Fabienne should be able to make those magic potions without any problem.

“Brother, now that we have done our business at the academy, let’s go back to the townhouse.”

“I agree. Let’s do that. Ah, perhaps you were wondering about Baron Ambert’s daughter?”

“[……]”

Sharp. A brother with too keen an intuition is worthy of caution. I wonder if I’ll look suspicious if I keep quiet. But what should I do?

“I’m sorry, Julius. I didn’t mean to make fun of you. I just thought you were smiling, just like Cain. I’ve had times like that too.”

My brother apologized. His eyes were staring somewhere far away. I wonder if he was thinking about Miss Hilda, Miss Carolina’s older sister? It’s hard being a popular guy. I’d like to be careful not to be like that, but I feel like I’ve already put one foot in the door.

I’m definitely your younger brother. I envy you, Brother Cain. I wonder if they’re playing patty cake with each other now? No, it’s impossible. As expected, they wouldn’t do  such a thing in a women’s dormitory and with servants. They wouldn’t, right?
