Chapter 193: Encounter

“Bianshu town? Lay down your weapons.”

Kerman ordered.

Upon hearing this, the lizard warriors put down their weapons.

Then, the lizard group quickly made way for a path, and the acting chief, Kerman, walked out, looking curiously at the birdman in front of him whom he had never seen before.

“This is the village of the Sinking Sand tribe. Who are you?”

“That’s great!”

Winnie clapped her hands and said happily.

“My name is Winnie, I’m from the Winged Tribe, and I’m here to deliver a letter under the orders of Lord Owen Eisen. Since this is my first time delivering a letter, I’d like to hand it over to the acting tribe leader, Kerman, personally. Could you please call him over?”

“I am Kerman,”

Kerman responded.

I didn’t expect that border town has begun to accept other sub-human races, and the winged race that can fly, that’s really amazing.

“That’s perfect.”

Winnie took out two letters from her bag, one was written by Owen, and the other was written by someone else at Lusha’s dictation.

Then she walked up to Kerman and handed him the letter solemnly with both hands.

“This is the letter that Lord Owen and Lusha asked me to pass on. Please go through it.”

“Oh, thank you.”

After taking the letters, Kerman saw a wax seal on the seal of one of the letters. The pattern was the Eisen family’s crest, which he had seen before.

“Mission accomplished, I’m going back! Bye.”

Taking a few steps back, Winnie spread her wings and prepared to take off.

“Wait a minute.”

Kerman quickly raised his hand to stop her.

“Are you in such a hurry to leave? You’ve flown all the way from Bianshu Town. Why don’t you stay and rest for a while? We have delicious fish to treat you.”

“Fish?”

Winnie couldn’t help swallowing.

Back in the Storm Islands, she often ate fruit to fill her stomach.

After being employed by Owen, Winnie finally tasted delicious human food, especially fish dishes, which she loved best.

After thinking for a while, Winnie shook her head and replied.

“Thank you for your kindness, but I have to go back early. It won’t take long to fly back to Bianshu Town.”

After saying that, Winnie jumped lightly, flapped her wings behind her vigorously, and slowly rose into the air. The strong wind blew up the dust on the ground.

“I will fly over here often to deliver letters. If you have time, please treat me to fish, Acting Chief Kerman.”

After saying this, Winnie continued to increase her altitude and flew towards the east.

Watching the other party flying farther and farther away, Kerman turned his head to look at the surrounding lizard warriors and gave new orders.

“Next time you see that Winged Clan member, don’t be on guard. Let her land on her own. After receiving the letter, quickly deliver it to me.”

“Yes.”

The lizardmen responded in unison.

Next, Kerman turned and walked towards his room, ready to go back to his room and open the letter.

Mission accomplished, Winnie now felt relaxed, leisurely flying in the air in an “S” shape, humming a song.

“La, la la—”

At this time, Winnie noticed an unfamiliar small bird monster not far ahead.

“What kind of bird is that?!”

Driven by curiosity, she flapped her wings and flew faster, approaching the bird monster.

Realizing that a “flying bird” larger than itself was chasing it from behind, the bird monster was frightened and quickly changed direction and flew elsewhere.

“Don’t even think about running!”

Winnie also changed direction and followed closely behind the bird monster.

After flying for a while, the small bird monster flashed into the woods, circled around several trees, and soon got rid of Winnie.

“Huh? Where did you fly to?”

Hovering low in the sky, Winnie looked around but couldn’t find the bird monster.

“Oh no! It ran away.”

She said with a disappointed look on her face.

“I thought I could have a snack tonight.”

Chirp——

Suddenly, a red-faced monkey hiding not far away jumped up from the treetop, bared its fangs, and pounced on Winnie with its claws and teeth.

“Wow!”

Fortunately, Winnie reacted in time and dodged to the side. She turned her head to look at the red-faced, brown-haired, violent monster and asked in confusion.

“What kind of monster is that? It’s so fierce.”

There were no monkeys in the Storm Islands, so she didn’t know what the red-faced monkey was.

Rustle——rustle——

Several leaves around suddenly moved, as if many monsters were rushing towards her. Winnie was so scared that she quickly flapped her wings, climbed higher, and got away from the treetops.

Chirp! Chirp!

The heads of red-faced monkeys emerged from the treetops.

Some of them had ferocious faces and roared at Winnie; some waved their arms and made threatening gestures; and some jumped high and tried to pull Winnie down.

“Humph! You red-faced ghosts can’t reach me.”

Winnie circled in the air for a few times and showed off for a while before she remembered that she had to go back quickly.

“Ah! If I go back late, I might not have dinner.”

Although Winnie had her own place to live, she didn’t know how to cook, so she would go to the castle to eat and only go home to sleep after she had eaten.

Just as it was pulled up a little bit, a large black shadow suddenly appeared above Winnie’s head.

She looked up suddenly and found that there was a beautiful blonde woman with blue eyes not far above her head, riding a winged Pegasus.

The Pegasus Knight who suddenly appeared was none other than Angelica, who was ordered to rush to Bianshu Town to carry out a mission.

In order to reach her destination as soon as possible, she flew roughly along a straight line between the Holy City and Bianshu Town, which also required her to fly over the Mysterious Forest.

Eh? What kind of horse is that? It can actually fly!

Winnie stared at the horse intently, feeling very curious.

“Oh? I heard there was some commotion here, so I flew over to take a look. I didn’t expect to make such a big discovery! A flying subhuman species. I’ve never seen one before.”

Angelica observed Winnie with interest, the corners of her mouth raised.

She asked loudly.

“Hey! What’s your name and what’s your race?”

Oops!

Winnie remembered Owen’s warning not to talk to strangers casually, as they most likely wanted to capture Winnie and sell her.

“Don’t catch me!”

Thinking of the days when she was locked in the cage, Winnie felt a chill and immediately turned around and flew towards the border town.

“Wait, I’m not going to arrest you, I just want to ask you a few questions.”

Angelica pulled the reins and rode the Pegasus to catch up.

“You’re a big liar!”

Winnie didn’t dare forget Owen’s warning. The strange human said that he would not catch her, probably to lower his vigilance so that he could get closer.

In order to create distance, she glided downwards and accelerated without hesitation.

Angelica chased after her, shouting.

“I’m not a liar, just a Pegasus Knight passing by.”

“Then don’t chase me!”

Winnie turned her head and looked behind her.

“If I’m not chasing you, then don’t run away.”

“Not run?”

Winnie turned her head again.

“I should wait and be caught by you?”

“I already told you… Hey! Be careful ahead!”

Angelica hurriedly reminded.

“What?”

Turning back quickly, Winnie discovered that a few meters ahead was a giant tree that was much taller than the surrounding trees.

Because she was flying too fast, she had no time to avoid it and plunged into the dense tree canopy. She hit a thick tree trunk with a bang, her eyes went black, and she fell to the ground.
