Interlude: Baroness Mabel Crane in the arena waiting room

Mabel was sitting on a chair in the waiting room of the arena, looking out the window.

In the arena, workers using earth magic were hurriedly repairing the stage.

I thought the finals would be carried over to tomorrow because of our own spectacular destruction of the stage, but at this rate, it looked like it would take place in the afternoon.

However, it doesn't matter to me anymore.

I had lost.

An unspeakable feeling of depression welled up in me

Until now, all I had to do was think about what I had to accomplish. Even if death awaited me in the future, I was able to keep my mind strong.

But now that it’s over, there is nothing to accomplish.

I don't even know what will happen to me in the future.

Not knowing made me anxious.

I heard a clicking sound coming from the table beside me.

I looked and saw a crow, which had somehow followed me from outside, walking around on the table. Its claws were clicking against the hardwood table.

The thought of having this crow by my side was strangely calming.

Suddenly, I thought back to the words Seika had spoken to me.

----It's all right now.

When I heard those words.

Strangely, the image of my brother overlapped with him, and I felt a sense of relief.

It's okay, Mabel. That's what my brother used to say to me, patting me on the head.

Seika is strong.

Even when he was fighting with me, he still seemed to have room to spare.

But still, I don't know if he can beat Kyle now.......

I was always afraid of losing to my brother, who has become a different person.

But now, just as much.

I was worried about Seika challenging my brother.
