Chapter 1: The Abandoned Prince Sent to the Frontlines

Another world.

For any healthy young person, it might be a phrase that makes their heart dance.

But reality is always cruel.

The other world I was reincarnated into, or rather the country where I was born and raised, was tough.

“—Your highness!! Your highness Reichel!!”

“…I want to eat cup noodles.”

“Cup…? I don’t really get it, but you seem okay!! Come on, stand up!! The enemy troops are charging at us!! We need to abandon this position and retreat!!”

My name is Reichel von Agarram.

I am the first prince of the Kingdom of Agarram and was supposed to be the future king.

Now, I am a healing mage treating allies’ injuries on the front lines of the battlefield, and the captain of a medic unit commanding twenty subordinates.

A prince, you know? I’m a prince, right?

So why am I working on the front lines where enemy magic could come flying at any moment?

I’d like to complain, but there’s no way to meet the big-breasted goddess who reincarnated me into this world.

So today, too, I treat the wounded soldiers while harboring my discontent.

How did it come to this?

It goes back fifteen years since I was reincarnated into this world, specifically five years ago.

It all began when my father, the King of Agarram, died in an unforeseen accident, and my position as crown prince was taken by my younger brother.

“From today, I am the king!!”

“…Huh?”

It was sudden.

The king of the Kingdom of Agarram, who was my father in this world, had fallen from a wild horse and died. This happened right after the mourning period ended.

Out of the blue, I was summoned by my younger brother, Hecton, and headed to the audience chamber.

Though he is my brother, Hecton and I are only half-blood related.

Hecton is the son of a concubine, while I am the son of the queen.

Still, we had a good relationship as brothers.

I believed Hecton admired me as his older brother, and I cherished him too.

Or so I thought.

However, it turned out that was just my misconception, a mere misunderstanding.

Hecton, sitting on the throne in the audience chamber with the crown, the symbol of kingship, on his head, loudly declared himself the king.

To explain beforehand, I am the eldest son and thus the crown prince.

Therefore, if the throne were to be passed on in the proper order, I should have become the next king.

In other words…

“Treason, huh?”

“Shut up!! I am the true crown prince!! It was a mistake for a monster like you, with your creepy powers, to be the crown prince!!”

Let me come clean here.

In truth, I am not purely a person of this world.

I have memories of a previous life in a country called Japan, making me a so-called reincarnator.

In my past life, I died in an unforeseen accident and was granted cheat abilities by a goddess.

Then, I was reincarnated into this world as Reichel von Agarram, who was originally supposed to be stillborn.

The creepy ability Hecton refers to is probably the cheat ability given to me by the goddess.

“Even if your limbs are torn off, they grow back… You’re not human!!”

“Don’t compare me to a lizard.”

The cheat ability granted to me by the goddess is called “Complete Regeneration.”

It’s the power to restore anything I touch, whether it’s a person or an object, back to its original state. When it comes to myself, just a bit of concentration is enough—it’s a genuine cheat ability.

In my previous life, I died in a sudden accident, and wanting to live a long life, I requested this cheat ability from the goddess.

This cheat ability proved to be extremely useful.

As the crown prince, my life was targeted numerous times.

Thanks to it, I’ve survived until I was fifteen.

Moreover, this cheat ability seems to improve with use, increasing its effectiveness bit by bit.

Now, even if I’m decapitated, as long as I remain conscious, I can regenerate.

Recently, even poison and curses have stopped affecting me.

It’s a bit scary to think that eventually, “Complete Regeneration” might activate automatically, making me pseudo-immortal.

The King of Agarram, my father in this world, saw my power and was greatly enthused, calling me “a child blessed by the gods!”

What? Why didn’t I heal my father with this power, you ask?

Please forgive me for that. I wasn’t there at the time.

This power is immense, but it can’t bring the dead back to life.

According to the goddess, that would violate the world’s rules.

However, it seems my younger brother Hecton found my power creepy.

It’s a bit of a shock.

“Be silent, Reichel.”

The one who said that was a voluptuous beauty standing next to Hecton’s throne.

She’s Hecton’s mother.

If you overlook her bad personality and elitist beliefs, she’s just the kind of sexy older woman I like.

But it seems I’ve always been her enemy.

Well, I am the son of the queen, so from the perspective of someone who wants Hecton to be king, I guess I’m a thorn in her side.

But the main reason is—

“Stop looking at me with those creepy eyes!!”

It seems to be because every time I see Hecton’s mom, I look at her with a perverted gaze.

Well, there’s nothing I can do about it.

I’m turning fifteen this year, but if you include my age in my previous life, I’m in my late twenties (TN: Not sure if the author made an error here).

Perhaps because I have the mind of an adult but the body of a child, my strike zone is fairly wide, ranging from fifteen to early thirties.

Because of this, I started looking at Hekton’s mom with lustful eyes and she started to dislike me.

Well, enough of those random thoughts.

“It seems like everything has been arranged for a while now.”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

Around Hecton, there are prominent figures and knights who served the former king.

It seems there are no allies for me in this situation.

Perhaps this isn’t something they came up with overnight—it seems planned.

There might even be some who had a hand in my father’s death.

Unfortunately, being raised indulgently by my father, I’m too naive when it comes to such schemes.

Without realizing that there were those lurking, plotting rebellion, I’ve been enjoying my lazy life as the crown prince.

“So, what are you going to do with me? Bury me in concrete and sink me in the sea?”

“Bur…?”

Actually, my “Complete Regeneration” has a weakness.

I probably wouldn’t survive being submerged in the sea or buried alive in concrete.

If the necessary conditions for survival aren’t met, I’ll die.

Hecton’s mom seemed puzzled by the mention of concrete, but it seems she doesn’t intend to go that far.

Hecton smirked as he spoke.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. You’re going to the battlefield.”

“Hm.”

The battlefield, huh?

I’ve been in the capital all this time, so I’m not familiar with the details, but our kingdom is at war with a neighboring country.

That neighboring country happens to be the strongest nation on the continent, the Holy Dragoon Empire.

They’re the only ones on the continent who command wyverns, possessing military power that far surpasses the surrounding nations.

.

It’s a hegemonic nation, and it’s also known as an aggressive country that has declared war on neighboring states.

The Kingdom of Agaralm, aspiring to be a major power on par with the Holy Dragoon Empire, is receiving substantial support from neighboring countries that refuse to acknowledge the Empire’s rise, and is fighting with that aid.

The battlefield is said to be harsh beyond words.

“My dear brother will fight for the kingdom until he dies.”

“You’re surprisingly lenient.”

“Hmph. Originally, I intended to bury you alive until you died. But I was persuaded by Eliza, your fiancée. Well, no, that’s not it. She’s already my fiancée.”

Eliza is the girl who was my fiancée.

She’s spirited and a bit troublesome at times, but she’s a kind-hearted girl.

We’ve had many interactions since we were young, and I’m aware that she has feelings for me.

It seems that thanks to Eliza, I’ll be spared from being buried alive.

Well, Hecton did have feelings for Eliza.

Maybe he pressured her into becoming his fiancée in exchange for saving my life.

“Alright, got it. Let’s head to the front lines tomorrow.”

“Why aren’t you more upset?! I took everything from you—your country, your throne, your fiancée!!”

“Huh?”

I don’t quite understand what he’s saying.

“As long as you’re alive, you can make it through anything. I don’t think there’s any need to be upset.”

“Enough! Just go die on the battlefield already!”

And so, I, the abandoned prince, head to the front lines of the battlefield.

Fortunately, I excel on the front lines.

With my deceased mother’s appearance and my father’s inherited charisma, combined with the cheat ability bestowed upon me by the goddess, I rose to a respectable position while fighting on the front lines.

I could withstand even the flames unleashed by the wyverns employed by the Empire, and I had no worries or complaints.

If I had to nitpick, perhaps the uncomfortable beds and unappetizing meals were the worst of it.

…And there’s a little concern about Eliza, who became Hecton’s fiancée.

Then, one day, something happened.

    Thanks for the chapter!

Based on the many assassination attempts, I’m going to guess all those were by his brother which is why he finds it creepy. It’s like that phrase from a movie (I can’t remember).

“Why won’t you just die already!?”
