Volume 3: The Beings You Want to Protect and the Battle of the Skyscrapers.

Chapter 1: After a new spring (Part one)

Elendil, the city of prayer.

It’s a quiet town about an hour and a half away from the imperial capital by magic train.

The reason why Elendil is called the town of prayer is related to the founder of the Leomel Empire, the Lion King. It’s said that before he went to war, he always prayed here.

In other words, it is a historic town with a long history.

The town isn’t so big as a metropolis, but it’s larger than Clausel.

The town is surrounded by high walls and surrounded by lush green plains. The gray cobblestone streets are quiet and comfortable, with a large fountain, a clock tower, and lush parks scattered throughout the town.

Of course, in addition to the commercial guilds, adventurers’ guilds also line the main street.

Baron Clausel, who received this land from the emperor several years ago, has no intention of leaving Clausel until his daughter, a saint, grows up.

It was well known that he had set up his Deputy for this purpose.

—-One day in Elendil.

The bandits, who until recently had been causing a stir in the surrounding streets, have been captured, every last one of them. Many of them were adventurers, but all of them were comatose with locks on their hands, and they were rolled outside the gates. They were being carried by the knights to the guardroom.

In the midst of all this, at a turn of an alleyway in the town.

There were two boys who didn’t know each other faces were exchanging words.

“I never thought you would be able to find their hideout faster than the knights and wipe them out all by yourself.”

The one who said this was a boy dressed in luxurious clothes.

“Haa….You thought I wouldn’t notice you after you set me on fire yourself?”

The next to reply in dissatisfaction was Ren.

“I’m sorry if I offended you. I was just surprised at your quick thinking. Forgive the details. I’ve never had the experience of talking like this with a person  who isn’t worried about face.”

“I don’t have that experience either. it’s fine, already. It wasn’t a bad job for me either.”

The two continued their conversation without showing their faces.

The truth is, they had never seen each other before today, and all they knew about each other was their personalities and their voices.

“How do I pay you for what you promised?”

The boy, dressed in luxurious clothes, asks, and Ren opens his mouth as he leaves.

“Donate the money to the lord of this town. I don’t need it. It’s for the good of the town.”

With these words, Ren left, his footsteps echoing in the alleyway.

…… Soon, the boy who was left chuckles.

As he started walking in a different direction than Ren, a cat-eared woman appeared out of nowhere and began walking next to the boy.

“Mirei, I found an interesting man.”

“Nya? Is he a poet who reads funny poems?”

“Don’t be silly. You should have seen him.”

The boy’s profile shows that he’s in a good mood. The woman called Mirei, on the other hand, asked him as if she had seen something unusual.

“Your Highness, do you like that boy so much?”

As she called him “Your Highness,” the boy was a member of the royal family.

His name was Radius, the third prince of Leomel.

“You could say I fell in love with him. Intelligence and quick wit that you can tell just by talking with him. The caustic sword fights that surpassed me— and above all, his courage, made my heart harbor a fever I had never experienced before.”

“Nyah! Nyah! What are you saying, Your Highness?”

“Don’t worry. It’s not about infatuation, it’s about the man’s character. I’m not in love with him, I’m in love with his character. —- And it’s the first time I’ve seen him. No one has ever treated me in such a casual manner before.”

The voice that blended into the silence of the back alley was filled with a certain joyful tone.

Speaking of which, Radius remembered.

“That man was a brilliant swordsman.”

  1. I thought Clausel was a small nobleman and in addition to his hometown he was given land with the village of Ren. Now it turns out he also has a sacred town…
I also hope the author does a timeskip.

  2. Where are you guys getting Clausel is a big town? This chapter talked about Elendil, a completely different town. It’s also not as big as a metropolis but is still bigger than Clausel.
