Chapter 198: It’s So Thick
A colossal serpent-like monster, covered in mud, burst forth before them.
Its black body, as thick as a telephone pole, rose vertically like a towering pillar piercing the sky.
Though it seemed slightly smaller than the magic beast Sabnock, it was still large enough to swallow a human whole.
“Whoa… Rest, that thing is huge! Incredible!”
“Yeah, it’s huge… Though, the bigger the target, the easier it is to hit.”
Rest replied calmly, already channeling the magic energy within him despite Yuri’s excited outburst.
“Everyone, get back… Leave this to me!”
Rest raised his palm toward the worm’s massive body and began chanting his spells.
“[Wind Sphere] [Amplification] [Compression] [Acceleration]!”
A quadruple-layered magic combination.
He compressed the surrounding air into a bullet-like form and fired it at high speed.
“GYAO!”
The sound of impact echoed like the clash of heavy machinery, and the worm’s body bent into a harsh curve.
A large hole pierced through its thick, elongated body.
Though it wasn’t severed in two, blue-purple fluid gushed from the gaping wound.
“Amazing… What kind of magic is this?!”
Ostrey exclaimed in awe.
“Of course, it’s Rest we’re talking about.”
Yuri said with a knowing smile.

Urla nodded in agreement, despite it being her first time witnessing Rest in combat.

The worm let out an enraged roar and reared its massive head toward Rest. Its gaping mouth lunged to swallow him whole, but Rest responded swiftly with a counterattack.
“[Fire Blast]!”
“GYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
A mid-level fire spell struck the worm’s mouth and burned its insides.
The colossal creature writhed in agony but showed no signs of collapsing, its vitality as overwhelming as its size.
“[Fire Blast]!”
Rest launched another fiery strike, enveloping the worm in flames that grew fiercer.
The creature attempted to dive into the swamp to extinguish the fire, but Rest wouldn’t let it escape.

With a final blow, the worm’s writhing slowed.
It gave a voiceless scream before succumbing to the flames, its enormous body finally collapsing motionless.
“It’s done.”
Rest announced, scanning the surroundings for other threats but sensing no other monsters.
The battle had been a brute-force victory, relying on sheer power and relentless attacks.
(Not exactly a stylish strategy… but it worked.)
Elegance didn’t matter—victory was all that counted.
“How about that? Rest is amazing, right?”
Yuri said proudly, puffing out her chest as if it were her own accomplishment.
“The worm, huh? To dominate a dragon-class monster so easily is impressive!”
“It’s amazing… but.”
Urla interjected, shaking her head gently.
Despite the blush on her cheeks from witnessing Rest’s combat prowess, she didn’t share Yuri’s exuberance.
“But what?”
“It’s not over.”
Urla said, her voice trembling slightly.
“What do you mean?”
“Children. Babies.”
She replied simply.
“WHAT?!”
Yuri exclaimed in shock.
Rest tilted his head, confused by the commotion.
“This worm is a child. The parent is still out there.”
The female attendant, seeing the need to clarify, interjected with a calm and flat tone, revealing an unsettling truth—Rest’s task was far from over.
“A child…? Are you saying that monster, with that size, is still in its juvenile stage?!”
“Yes… a baby. And it’s very thick.”
Urla said with a trembling voice.

“Indeed, as the young lady stated, the parent worm is more than twice its size. It certainly won’t be easy to defeat.”
The attendant added matter-of-factly.

The revelation left Rest momentarily speechless.
The problem was far from resolved; in fact, it had only just begun.
