Volume 1: Noblesse oblige

Ch1: The Insulting Villainous Noble

“Ahhhh… Aahh!!”

A high-pitched voice, or rather, a pitiful scream, echoed in the area.

…Huh? Who? Where is this?

I was playing a game just now, but before I knew it, there was a woman crouched in front of me.

Well, to be precise, she was in an indecent state… bound by ropes…

“W-w-what’s… happening…”

I let out a voice that sounded like trying to calm a startled horse, but I was the one who needed composure.

“Weiss-sama, what happened to you?”

The woman, still facing forward, turned only her profile and spoke to me with concern.

Of all times… she’s incredibly beautiful. Her eyes are shining, and her golden hair is soft and flowing.

But there’s something familiar about her…

Suddenly, I looked down at my own hands and found a whip gripped in my right hand.

…Huh? Weiss?

The bound woman, maid-like attire, the whip, Lord Weiss, and the dazzling interior.

(Could it be… I am Weiss-sama, the villainous character from “Insulting Villainous Noble”!?)

Panicking, I quickly glanced at the nearby mirror. There was no mistaking it—I was undoubtedly Weiss Vincent, the wicked character from the school game “Noblesse Oblige.”

So, the woman in front of me is… the maid Lilith Scarlet?

“…Lilith.”

“Yes, what is it?”

I-It’s really her… No, this can’t be true, can it!?

If I were the real Weiss, I would irrationally insult her, shouting, “Silence, you wretched sow! Don’t you dare speak!”

But I am different now. I’m just a guy who liked this game and cleared it a few times.

Therefore, no matter what, I won’t say such cruel things.

Come to think of it… what I liked to do was to whip people.

This guy is the worst, isn’t that right? No, I mean, I am now.

“…May I ask something, Lilith?”

“Yes.”

“Did I… hit you?”

“Yes, you smacked me two or three times. Weiss-sama, you said you wanted to hit me, crush me, and make a mess of me, so I took off my clothes.”

…What a terrible bastard. Why would you do something like that!? To such a cute woman!?

I should untie her right away… No, but wouldn’t it seem strange if I suddenly changed my behavior this drastically?

I need to come up with… some kind of excuse…

“…You’ve got it all wrong. I just wanted to check on the meat. I’m planning to make boneless ham sometime.”

“What is boneless ham…?”

Oh no, it feels like I’m failing.

What should I do… Is there any other way—…

“Um, well, you see, I wrap it around pork and smoke it. That’s how it becomes delicious.”

“I see… Smoking a pig like me. Please enjoy it… tastefully.”

No, nothing I say seems to work.

Abandoning the excuse, I quickly untied Lilith.

“…What’s the matter?”

“I’ve confirmed it, so it’s okay now. But… um, are you hurt?”

Lilith looked at me with wide eyes.

Did I say something wrong again…?

“What’s the matter?”

“N-nothing! I, I never expected to receive such kind words from you.”

“…I won’t say it again in the future.”

“Huh?”

I hurriedly had her put her clothes back on while trying to make sense of the situation.

My name is Weiss Vincent.

In this world, which belongs to the genre of fantasy school stories in another world, I am known as Weiss Vincent, the lowest of the low, a despicable villain and insulted villainous noble.

My mother passed away when I was young, and my father, busy with diplomacy, was rarely home, leaving me to do as I pleased.

Taking advantage of my position after entering the academy, I manipulated facts to my liking and tormented the weak whenever something displeased me or if my grades were poor.

I am the worst kind of bastard who, at the slightest hint of defiance, relentlessly persecutes others.

However, in the end, I was utterly defeated by the protagonist. My evil deeds were exposed, and I lost everything, eventually becoming a servant of the Demon King.

In the final moments, I was transformed into the Demon King’s shield. My body was riddled with holes, and I breathed my last breath.

While there was some room for sympathy due to my experiences of being bullied in my childhood and betrayed by trusted servants, the Demon King’s heartless line, “Isn’t it nice to feel lighter, Weiss?” became popular. As a result, Weiss continued to hold the top position as the most hated villain.

Terms like “meatless Weiss” and “shower Weiss” emerged as various internet slangs, only to fade away in time.

Another reason for the hatred was his notoriously bad treatment of women.

His actions weren’t something that would please men to watch; instead, his hobbies involved hurting maids like Lilith, as seen earlier.

Because of this, he was disliked by both men and women alike.

I, too, strongly disliked that aspect.

My real dad had repeatedly said that women are precious beings to be protected. So, I would never do something like that.

By the way, I have never had any proper interaction with women. But that’s not important right now.

“Lilith, your neck…”

“Huh?”

At that moment, I noticed the whip marks still visible on Lilith’s neck.

If someone else were to see this…

I needed to do something—anything.

In this game, you could check your status. One of the popular features was the protagonist’s ability to visualize learning skills and leveling up.

On the other hand, the villainous Weiss had low levels, and he despised effort, so having power didn’t mean much for him.

 But… maybe.

“Turn around.”

“Huh? Y-yes…”

Lilith’s voice trembled, thinking she was about to be whipped again.

But in a quiet voice, I said, “Open status.”

…Please work.

For a moment, nothing happened, but in the next instant…

Name: Weiss Vincent

Race: Human, Male

Age: 14 years old

Occupation: Noble

Level: 1

HP (Health Points): 10

MP (Magic Points): 20

Unique Skill: New Bondage Play lv1

Title: New: Master of Boneless Ham

(Alright, it worked…!)

I activated the appraisal skill.

Normally, players could only control the protagonist, but I had wondered if, just maybe…

Wait… Level 1? The protagonist had at least 10 in the beginning, right? This guy seriously hasn’t put in any effort or anything…

Bondage Play lv1… Master of Boneless Ham? Well, I guess… whatever.

“Um, should I do something?”

“No, don’t worry.”

If my theory is correct, then that… should work.

“Huh? What do you—”

“Heal Light (Small).”

I raised both of my hands and chanted the spell.

This was a hidden skill added by the developers for fun, a healing magic available from the beginning, as revealed in the strategy guide.

I had thought if I could see the status, Weiss should be able to use it too.

A white light overflowed from my hands, and Lilith’s bruise vanished, her skin returning to its natural color in an instant.

“Weiss-sama… It feels warm and nice.”

“Yeah, you’ll be okay now.”

Lilith checked herself in the full-length mirror and seemed unable to hide her surprise.

It must have been because I was being gentle and using magic.

The real Weiss was truly a lazy guy, never doing anything.

He didn’t bother learning more than the basic magic necessary, claiming he didn’t need anything until he graduated from the academy..

However… things are different from today onwards.

I am Weiss, but I’m not Weiss.

“Thank you, Weiss-sama.”

“No, I’m the one who should apologize.”

“…It’s as if… you’re a completely different person. I was surprised. I didn’t expect you to use healing magic.”

I’ve caused too much confusion. Suddenly being bound with ropes and whipped, and then being healed with magic afterward – isn’t that something straight out of a horror story?

In the evening, the butlers prepared a meal. Every dish in the full-course dinner was delicious, and I couldn’t help but smile. Before I knew it, I had finished everything.

“It was amazing…”

Then…

“Young Master Weiss… Did you particularly enjoy today’s seasoning?”

 Butler Zebis Aldin’s eyes widened.

He had a deeply carved face, a slender figure that was surprisingly well-muscled underneath, and both high intellect and combat skills. He was supposed to be unflappable, yet now he couldn’t hide his surprise.

“Um, what do you mean?”

“Well, I mean… that…”

It seemed difficult for him to say, but I urged him on a bit more firmly. It wouldn’t be good to change my attitude too drastically from the beginning.

“…Normally, you would throw the plates on the ground if you found the taste unpleasant. So, if you found today’s seasoning satisfactory, I thought I would like to adjust the seasoning similarly in the future. I apologize for my presumption.”

I see… I hadn’t known he did such terrible things, even though I cleared the game.

Throwing such a delicious meal away…

So, while I was eating, everyone must have been on edge.

It seemed odd that they were all standing in a row, but they were probably here to clean up the broken plates.

But Lilith was the only one smiling faintly.

I wonder if she noticed that I’ve changed.

No, there’s something more important to say.

Something obvious.

“…I’m sorry for what I’ve done before. I woke up this morning realizing I shouldn’t waste food…that’s what I thought. So, I won’t do it anymore. I’m sorry for what I’ve done until now.”

This should be enough.

But everyone around me was still frozen in place. Oh no, did they figure out I’m someone else—…

“…W-What wonderful words… I’m deeply moved, truly…”

Zebis let out a voice that seemed forced. Was he always like this…?

In response, I could hear sniffling sounds from those around me.

What’s happening, what’s this!? Is this turning into the final episode!?

“Weiss-sama, that was truly wonderful!”

It seems Lilith was moved too.

Applause erupted. I mean, all I did was eat, right!?

Even a baby could do this, right!? Babu babu!?

“Haha, haha, thank you, thank you.”

But they seemed to have accepted it, which was a relief.

It would still take time, but this was a good first step.

However, I need to change even more.

Because the school entrance ceremony is just two years away.

The academy Weiss attends conducts a mock test for class placement.

If Weiss loses to the protagonist in the combat test, his reputation suffers, leading to more enemies.

If you think about it the other way around, if he can fight on equal footing with the protagonist, he should be able to maintain his dignity and gain recognition from those around him.

However, to make that happen, I need to prepare before the entrance ceremony.

With these stats… the future won’t change.

I’ll work hard, as hard as I can, to avoid the route to destruction.

I absolutely don’t want to end up riddled with holes.

And I should dispose of the whip as soon as possible.

  1. I’m reading the novel in Kakuyomu and don’t worry, everyone is questioning why the MC’s personality changed. Nobody is asking it right now since due to being unsure how to ask and due to his position as the son of a Duke. But the question of his sudden change in personality is a point that comes out a lot even until the current chapters of the Web Novel.

  2. I’m reading the novel in Kakuyomu and I have to say I’m happy this is getting translated. It starts out a bit rough with some parts being a bit rushed but it gets better by the end of Volume 1(Chapter 35) and The beginning of Volume 2. Also this series will get a Light Novel soon so hopefully they would improve the parts that need fixing because overall this is actually a pretty fun story.
