Chapter 315: More Adventurers

The important discussion ended more easily than expected, and after completing the quest to help with the dungeon capture as usual, the group returned to the siblings residence.

After sending Aeris and Ankh back to  Marquis Van Dyne’s mansion, Ragune went to hee room and Tauro went into another room, sat on his bed, and calmed down.

Tauro was finally able to reflect here on what had been discussed during the day.

“…… what am I going to do now?”

 Tauro muttered to himself.

Then Pella, the slime emperor disguised as a belt, broke free of her mimicry and came over to Tauro’s shoulder.

“…… are you worried about me, Pella? Thank you.”

Pella leaned in close and rubs against me, and I am grateful for the gesture, as if she knew how I felt.

“I guess the day will come for me, too, now that I’ve been adopted into the Count Graunewald family,…… and I haven’t really thought much about it since I still have almost three years to go.”

While talking to Pella, Tauro was able to organizes his thoughts.

“I was surprised that Aeris had thought so much about all of this, but being the daughter of a Marquis is no mean feat. …… I’m an adopted son of an aristocrat, so I have to think about that too. …… Of course, the first order of business is to help them conquer the dungeon, but there will come a day when that will be accomplished, and I’ll think about how I’m going to conduct myself in the future.”

After reporting this to Pella, Tauro was out dozing on the bed.

From then on, the adventures continued without any mention of Aeris’s departure or future.

The activities of “Black Gold Wings” in the village branch of the Dragon People gradually began to attract the attention of the Dragon People, and gradually, the number of requests for quests that Tauro and other D-rank adventurers could perform increased.

At the same time,  seeing Salaan’s single-minded approach as a solo adventurer, some members of the Dragon Tribe began to take an interest in the adventuring profession.

Some were puzzled by the Adventurers’ Guild’s inefficient system, but once they understood that the work they were normally doing could be done as a job, they began to see it as a way to make a living

“In other words, an adventurer is a handyman!”

That’s how most people interpreted it.

To them, who were strong, most of the adventurer’s guild’s ranked quests seemed easy.

So the Adventurers’ Guild was perceived to be treated as a handyman who did whatever little tasks were needed.

So, those who had been receiving gifts from their neighbors in return for their help in defeating monsters in their fields, decided to sign up for the Adventurers’ Guild to earn some extra money, since adventurers could receive money as a reward.

Thanks to this, the Adventurers’ Guild was crowded with people for the first time since its establishment.

“The number of adventurers from the dragon tribe has been increasing.”

And, Tauro expressed his impressions with deep emotion.

When I first came, there was only me, and I was in despair with ‘0’ quests.

Imagining that time, it must be very emotional.

“Oh, yes. But in the meantime, we’re the senior adventurers now, so we have to set an example.”

 Aeris sniffed and puffed.

“Aeris, the abilities of the people here are probably in the B to S rank range in terms of adventurer level, so I don’t think it’s worth getting worked up about, okay?”

 Ankh lightly chides Aeris.

“But, they’ve all just become adventurers, so they’re probably G to E rank at best, right? We’re D rank, so we’re the best adventurers in this guild.”

“I guess so! I must also be proud to be the first to rise in the Dragon People’s Tribe!”

Ragune agrees with Aeris’s words and tries to put on the air of a senior by rank alone.

“ You both know that the Adventurers’ Guild is a world of competence, and you will soon be overtaken, so don’t do it. ……”

The two women went around instructing other new adventurers (of higher level), even though Tauro tried to stop them.

 A few hours later…

A forest on the outskirts of the village of the Dragon People.

Accompanied by a group of new adventurers, the “Black Golden Wings” had come on their own quest, the “Orc Meat Recovery Quest.”

Then, a loud explosion rang out in the forest.

It was the sound of a rookie adventurer of the dragon people blowing apart a group of orcs that were the target for D-rank subjugation by Tauro and the other “Black Golden Wings”.

“…… are the Dragon People this awesome?”

Unlike Ragune, Malak and the other three temporary members of the “Black Golden Wings” who knew how to be moderate, Aeris was taken aback by the dragon people who did not know how to be moderate.

“…Yeah. It’s been a while since I’ve witnessed the abilities of my seniors… Kuh, kill them!”

Ragune, too, reflected on the fact that she had been immersed in the lukewarm environment of the Adventurers’ Guild, which was at the level of the human race.

“What’s wrong, Aeris-senpai? ─ ─ Ah, with this way of blowing things up, you can’t do something called “proof of defeat,” can you? I’ll learn to add and subtract!”

The (strongest) new adventurers of the dragon people, obediently followed the lead of Aeris, the senior adventurer, but Aeris reflected from the bottom of her heart that she was not in a position to guide them.
