Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 475: Additional Antidote

As Daniela—my sister-in-law—had said, there was no meeting that day, and we spent the rest of the time in the guest room.

Since our visit to the royal castle was a secret, we couldn’t walk around outside and simply spent our time in the room.

The next day, we had tea in the room with Sophia-sama and the others in the morning, and in the afternoon, it was finally time for the meeting.

Considering the Bone Dragon incident, they must have been busy. The fact that they made time to meet with us amid all that shows how truly grateful they are.

The location was Her Majesty the Queen of the Raven Kingdom’s chambers. Here, even if His Majesty the King entered, it wouldn’t be an issue. After we exchanged greetings, the king got straight to the point.

“I truly apologize for dragging you into my selfishness. I just had to personally thank you. Not only for Erwin, but for saving many knights as well.”

His Majesty the King bowed his head. Sister-in-law Daniela immediately had him raise it. As expected of my sister-in-law—so dependable. All we could do was remain silent. I had no idea what kind of face I should make while talking.

“It’s true that we helped Erwin-san, but what do you mean by ‘many knights’?”

“With the intermediate healing potions that Daniela-sama delivered as relief supplies, we were able to save many of the injured.”

“I see. I’m glad we could be of help. By the way, were there any symptoms resembling poisoning?”

His Majesty widened his eyes in surprise at Sister-in-law Daniela’s question. Her Majesty the Queen also widened her eyes and hid her mouth with her fan. It seems that information hadn’t been made public.

“How did you know that?”

“Erwin had symptoms of poisoning, so I also gave him an antidote.”

“What! Then that antidote Daniela-sama had really worked, didn’t it? Since Erwin is healthy like this now.”

Something about the way he said it bothered me. It sounded as if the Raven Kingdom’s own antidote hadn’t worked against the Bone Dragon’s poison. Alex, my older brother, and Sister-in-law Daniela looked at me. They must be thinking the same thing.

“Forgive me for asking, but… did the antidote not work?”

“Ah, that’s right. It seems it was able to halt the progression of the poison, but it hasn’t been completely removed.”

“Daniela-sama, is there no more of that antidote?”

Her Majesty the Queen asked Sister-in-law Daniela with a desperate tone. We have some, but not much. If a large amount is needed, we’d have to gather materials and make a new batch. Sister-in-law Daniela looked my way, and I gave her a small nod in return. We’ve come this far—there’s no turning back.

“If it’s antidote you need, my brother-in-law Julius can make it.”

All eyes turned to me. Eyes filled with hope. Eyes that looked a little anxious. Eyes full of surprise. There were many reactions.

“As long as the ingredients are prepared, I can make it right away. The materials needed are the same as what I usually use for antidotes.”

After a brief silence, His Majesty’s expression tightened. Her Majesty looked pleased. Sophia-sama and Erwin-sama still seemed surprised. It seems they only half-believed I could really make magical potions.

“I’ll have them prepared at once. Is the mixing room in the royal castle suitable?”

“That will be fine. Also, if possible, I’d like to borrow a few trustworthy alchemists. It would be difficult for me to make enough for everyone by myself.”

“Understood. I’ll arrange that immediately. Of course, their lips will be sealed.”

His Majesty, now wearing the face of a true king, said this with a firm nod. I personally don’t mind if the method spreads. I was planning to share it eventually anyway. If I can lay the groundwork here in the Raven Kingdom, all the better. Well, that still depends on who I’m dealing with.

After that, the conversation turned to the Bone Dragon. It seems that keeping it a secret had reached its limit, and they were now informing the surrounding residents and arranging for them to relocate. They said it was only a matter of time before word spread beyond the country.

His face was filled with anguish. Information that the Raven Kingdom was suffering damage from the Bone Dragon would, of course, be a weakness. He probably wanted to avoid letting that get out if possible.

“I had hoped Erwin would earn some credit and at least be made a count… Then Sophia could have married him without any issues…”

“Father…”

It seems that His Majesty is in favor of Sophia-sama and Erwin-sama’s engagement. Maybe because it would keep Sophia-sama out of the succession issue? I don’t know the Raven Kingdom’s internal affairs well, but maybe the siblings are fighting over who the next heir will be. That’s a little worrying.

“I heard you used the Holy Sword—is that true?”

“Well, yes. Though it seems it didn’t function properly. It ended up breaking during the fight with the Bone Dragon.”

“Can it be repaired?”

“I won’t know until I try, but it will likely be difficult. Julius-sama, are you interested in the Holy Sword?”

His Majesty looked at me as though observing something endearing. The others had similar expressions. Maybe they thought I was being childish. Well, if there’s a Holy Sword nearby, I would like to see it at least once. If it were Cain-niisan or Sister-in-law Mika, they’d probably jump at the chance.

“I’d like to see what kind of sword it is, at least once.”
