Episode 9: I made a mistake

The practical test, which is the second, will hold immediately.

The opponent seems to be an A class adventurer who’s well known in the royal capital.

It’s said that as a rule adventurers of C class or higher take charge of the practical test, but it’is very unusual for A class adventurers to be chosen.

The examiner has to rate you equivalent to an E-rank adventurer for you to pass.

“No way, how could Regulus be the examiner…!”

“As an adventurer-no, as a royal citizen, I need to teach this man his place.”

He looks to be in his late twenties and carries a huge sword on his back.

“You’re not a brave man, you even embarrassed our king, Matsuzaki Yuki? I admire your boldness for even thinking of becoming an adventurer despite being spared the death penalty due to the great mercy of our king.”

“Oh, you’re being sarcastic. You seem to have a weak head.”

Although he’s taking no stance, his intentions are obvious. Unpleasant sweat flows down my spine.

I don’t know any attack magic, so decided to use the magic sword Berserk that I got yesterday.

First, I Use “God’s blessing”.

Then I step forward as I breathe.

Even if I use feints, to an advanced swordmaster, they’re useless, no choice but to aim for a one-shot kill.

Regulus hasn’t moved,

I swung my sword up to Regulus’ sword.

The swords collide, and a harsh metallic sound echoes.

Kakin!

The sword flies out of Regulus’s hand. While in the air, it cracks and shatters into pieces.

I see, someone like him can manage even without a sword!

“Who are you !? What’s with that power!”

“So I’m that weak huh? Then I’ll do this a little more seriously! Haaaah”

You can’t slash an opponent who has a sword without one,.

No matter how good he is, I think he’s overdoing it.

I run behind Regulus and hit his back with my fist.

Regulus crashed into the wall without avoiding my attack, he crashed with enough force to break the wall.

“It’s a test similar to actual battle, you’ll have a night battle at camp. We need a little time to get ready cause we need multiple examiners-, we’ll be ready tomorrow night.”

I’m relieved I was able to pass the practical exam safely.
