Chapter 3: First, Lock the Door

When I saw a bright white light in front of my eyes, to my surprise, I was in another world.

It sounds pretty stupid when you hear it like this, but …… it has happened right now, in reality.

I have read many otherworldly novels, and I have repeatedly fantasized about the possibility of such things happening in the future. I have been able to keep my composure, thanks in part to this. If this had happened to a stranger all of a sudden, he would have been …… in a panic.

“Okay, calm down. First, check all the locks in the house.”

Dangerous demons and creatures that attack people. If such a thing existed, there would be no point in locking the door. They would break down the entire door and enter. But it would be a comforting thought.

“For now, let’s get this situation straight.”

I thought as I locked all the doors and windows in the house and closed the curtains.

Is this really another world?

Are there gods, goddesses, or administrators?

Am I the only one who has moved to this world?

Are there any locals, and can I communicate with them?

Are there any dangerous monsters or animals?

Is it possible to secure water and food?

Are water and food available?

What is the status displayed on the PC?

Putting aside the order in which we think about these questions, let’s first try to sort out the current situation in each of these areas.

<Is this really another world?

A forest can be seen outside the house, but when I lived in Japan, there were no forests in the vicinity. And the status on the monitor, I’m pretty sure it’s another world.

<Gods and goddesses and stuff.

I can’t think of anything in particular that happened before the transition, except for an intense light.

I don’t recall any contact with anything supernatural. Therefore, I don’t know why I came to this world, and I don’t know if I will be able to return.

<The existence of other transferees?

Although unknown, it is possible, but at the same time, this existence seems to be the most dangerous.

If there is a familiar building in Japan, it is only natural that someone would try to interfere. Worst case scenario, i will be attacked and robbed.

<About locals, demons, water, and food

I will not know anything until I have explored the area to some extent. First, I need to check the house’s stockpile and status in detail.

<About water supply and home appliances

Water, electricity, and gas were not available. Inevitably, the electrical appliances were not functioning either. I hit the pillars of the room with a pot as hard as I could, but both the pillars and the pot were scratched. Unfortunately, it seems that we are not going to be protected by an indestructible house, and we are not going to be warriors.

As for the water and food stockpile, it seemed that they could last for about a month if I was economical, and if i could cook over a fire, the food would last a little longer.

<Status and Skills

====================

Keisuke Lv1

Occupation: Village Chief (no village name)

Unique Skill: Village Lv1 (0/5)

Village Chief Authority.

Authority to grant permission to invite and reside in the village and to expel people. Can set an arbitrary loyalty value for villagers and automatically invite and exile them.

====================

Let’s check the information displayed on the monitor, starting from the top.

First is the name column. I don’t know why, but the last name is omitted and only the first name is shown. Then, in the occupation column, I am not sure if “village head” is an occupation, but let’s put that aside for the moment.

(Am i village chief because i moved with the  entire house, or because I am village chief, the house came with me? I don’t know if there is a God in this world. ……)

While thinking this, I shifted my gaze to the next letter. It must be the name of the village. Right now it says (no village name), but maybe I can enter a name. Thinking so, I touched the monitor.

“Ah, …….”

The displayed screen disappeared with a ping.

I was momentarily panicked and thought, “I’ve messed up,” but then I touched …… and the screen appeared again. When I touched the monitor again, the screen appeared again. The contents of the message were the same as before.

It seems that by touching the monitor, it can be turned on and off. It seems that there is no function to see the details or explanations by touching the monitor, as is often the case with otherworldly things.

Putting the name of the village aside for the moment, I paid attention to the current level and skills.

The initial level is 1, which may be raised by defeating demons or training, as is often the case. To be honest, I’m not sure about killing creatures. I don’t know if I’ll be able to kill a humanoid demon or, in some cases, a human …….

(If I don’t, I’ll just die. ……)

There are levels, but there is no “HP” or “Power” or anything like that. What about magical power and magic? It would be very useful to have water magic from the beginning, but it is no use to beg for something you don’t have. ……

I have tried chanting various game spells at random, such as “feel the magic in your body” and “magic is an image,” but none of them responded. As for magic, I’ll try to find out more about it when I have more time.

And finally, this skill. It is called “unique,” so I think it is a special ability that is different from the usual. Depending on the performance of this skill, the future survival rate should change greatly.

  1. I think that is meant to be ‘invite to’ instead ‘invade’ the village. It means he can recruit new villagers or kick them out again with ‘exile’.
