Chapter 21: The Crying Red Demon
A few days after offering the Demon Wailing Sword, Gerhard was still recovering from his sense of loss.
He said great things to his beloved disciple and summed it up nicely, but to tell you the truth, even Gerhard wanted that sword.
He really thought about what he could do to make it his own, but nothing came to mind, so he had no choice but to offer it to the Count.
The ritual of the spell had exhausted my spirit, and I had no motivation to do anything for a while. As I walked aimlessly down the hallway, I heard a sound like a draft coming from somewhere.
When I followed the sound, I saw a familiar man swinging a sword in the courtyard. He is Count Maximilian Zander.
“… Hmm?”
For a moment, Gerhard stopped thinking.
The Count was sickly by nature and had never mastered the martial arts, nor had he ever attempted to do so. For him, fighting was something he had only dreamed about.

When he approached out of curiosity, the Count also noticed Gerhard and gave him a beaming smile. He is a few years over forty now, but when he smiles, he looks like a boy.
“…Is it strange that I’m swinging my sword?”
“It’s not that you shouldn’t do it, but I was a little surprised.”
“I’m sure you’re right. Even for me, it’s like I’m just playing with an idea.”
He was about to sheathe his sword, but his hand was so unsteady that he was afraid that he might cut his hand.
“This sword is truly wonderful. Thank you, Gerhard.”
“Thank you for your kind words…”
“I wondered if I could proudly say that I was the master owner of this sword if I let my squire carry it or just have it slung around my waist.”
Please, the Count asks with his eyes.
“To put it in a somewhat more mundane way…”
“I don’t mind, as long as it’s easy to understand, that’s fine.”

“It’s like neglecting your wife right after you get married. It’s just futile to brag about how beautiful your wife is without communicating with her heart, and without tasting her.”
I regretted why I said such a stupid thing. The face of a stupid couple I met recently comes to mind. It’s probably their fault.
The Count did not seem particularly offended, but rather pleased to be allowed to wield the sword, albeit in a roundabout way.
“I want to know more about this sword. If you cannot answer when asked how it feels to use a sword, you are not its owner.”
As he said that, he pulled out his sword again and swung it. The sound was still as dopey as a gust of wind.
The Count said with a wry smile.
“It’s a pitiful sound, isn’t it? But after a lot of swings, it sometimes makes a good sound. It’s as if he’s praising me for a good swing. That’s very encouraging.”
Gerhard was impressed by this way of thinking. Jocel was frustrated that he could not produce a good sound, but if he thought it would correct his swinging style, there could be no better teaching tool.
“Your Excellency, hold the sword a little more as if you were squeezing it with both hands.”
In spite of his unnecessary intervention, the Count did not feel annoyed with the old man and obeyed him. He was probably amused by the fact that he was learning swordsmanship for the first time and that everything he did was unusual.

“Squeeze, but don’t use extra force…. Yes, thank you very much.”
There were about fifty more items I wanted to say, but there was no way a beginner would be able to respond to such things all at once.
I’ll gently submerge you in the swamp. Gerhard was grinning in his heart.
“Hmph!”
The wailing sword swung down with spirit. It was not a gust of wind, but certainly the sound of cutting wind. Not far from Gerhard and Joscel, it was still a considerable advance.
“Oh, the wind is roaring!”
“Well done, your Excellency.”
“Gerhardt, what about the rest? Is there anything else that needs to be fixed!?”
The Count was totally excited.
“You can’t learn everything at once. Today, let’s first learn the grip.”
In his words, he meant let’s do it again. Swordsmanship is a bottomless swamp; if you get knee-deep in it, the rest will sink in on its own.
After that, the Count continued to swing, but suddenly covered his mouth and coughed violently.
“Your Excellency!”
Gerhard rushed over in a panic. He seemed so happy that he forgot that he was sickly.
“Your Excellency, let’s end it here for today.”
“But I ……”
I want to be recognized by the sword. Gerhard fully understood this feeling. In a sense, he also had respect for him. He knew that although he did not have the skill, he was a swordsman at heart.
Gerhard shook his head gently and quietly.
“No matter how hard you train, you cannot become a great swordsman in a day. You must first build a strong body.”
“Yes…”
“There is nothing to worry about. Everything else will be guided by the Wailing Sword.”
“Fu, fu… Demon wailing Sword, contrary to its terrifying name, it’s a gentle sword.”
The Count who managed to calm down his breathing, stood up with a smile and put away his sword.
Gerhard’s unresolved feelings toward the wailing sword disappeared when he saw this figure. It was the Count’s sword, and there was no room for him.
Those who wield it say it is fun. The one who it’s pointed at says it is frightening. Who else would describe a straight sword, made in pursuit of sharpness, as gentle?
Gerhard saw off the Count as he headed for government affairs with a look of conviction and envy.
Gerhard’s heart has been completely drained of unfulfilled desires, and a new desire flows into the gap. I want a sword of my own. If possible, I want one that is better than Ricardo’s or the Count’s.
Even in front of Jocel, I said I would have Lutz make it for me someday, but it was only someday, and I didn’t expect to want it like crazy right now.
Since it was not the Count’s request, the money would have to come out of his own pocket. Gerhard was seriously considering how much he could pay.
Ask Lutz to make the sword and work with Claudia on the name. We will order the decoration from an outside vendor, but we will look for a better place than this vendor. I’ll do the incantation myself, but I can’t be stingy with the cost of materials.

“300 to 500 gold coins in my personal pocket…”
In today’s sense, it’s like saying that you should pour all your retirement money and retirement savings into your hobbies.
Gerhardt is single, so it’s fine, but if he had a mate, it wouldn’t be strange if he got stabbed on the spot.
Still, Gerhard’s thoughts were not on whether or not to do it, but how to do it.
That’s how much I envy the bond between the Count and the Demon Wailing Sword.
I want to fall in love with my sword again.
