The day I successfully negotiated with Sid, it was already late at night, so I stayed in the capital for the night after having dinner with Rozzo.
Early the next morning, I departed from the capital and rushed back to the villa as quickly as possible.
Even though I had accomplished my goal, I couldn’t help but feel lonely without Sheila around. It had only been a day since I left yesterday morning, but somehow, I had become more attached than I realized.

“Welcome back, Sato. Was everything okay in the capital by yourself?”
As soon as I arrived at the villa and stepped down from the carriage, Sheila came out to greet me.

“You have nothing to apologize for, Sheila. I was the one who decided to take you in, and besides, the capital is a safe place. I also had the help of Velvet, Donnie, and Rozzo, so there wasn’t any inconvenience at all.”
“Rozzo helped you as well? You really do have a way of getting people to like you, Sato.”
“No, it’s just because I’m associated with you, Sheila. Oh, but—I actually asked someone else to build the house. I hired Sid, Rozzo’s older brother. I think we got along well, so he should be starting soon.”
“Rozzo’s older brother? I’ve heard Rozzo complain about him a few times, but I’ve never met him myself.”
“He’s a lot like Rozzo, so I’m sure he’ll like you too.”
“I hope so…”
Given Sid’s reputation for being a ladies’ man, there was no doubt he’d be interested in her.
Still, I’d better warn him in advance not to say or do anything weird.
“So, has everything been fine here? I hope Lua and the others haven’t done anything suspicious.”
“They’ve been working diligently. I even spoke with them, and they just seem like hardworking people. Since Lua is from another country, I had to be cautious, but… from what I can tell, I don’t think there’s any problem.”
“I’m glad to have your approval, Sheila. Not just Lua and her group, but if there are others who want to move here, I’d like to accept them. Would that be okay?”
“Yes, I think that’s a good idea. Please continue to be as open-minded as you have been. I’ll be the one to handle any suspicions or security concerns. Just… please don’t take anyone in without asking me first. Just a single word is enough—let me know, okay?”
“Understood! I’ll be sure to consult you from now on!”
With a firm, energetic reply, I dropped off my things and immediately got to work on the farm.
Since I had taken the previous day off for negotiations, I worked hard to make up for lost time.
By the end of the day, combined with the fatigue from traveling to the capital alone, I collapsed into a deep sleep, like a rock sinking into the mud.
The next morning, I was awakened by a knock on the door. Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I went to see who it was—standing there was Sid.
“Good morning. I came right away, just as promised.”
“…Huh? You’re already here?”
“Of course! After receiving such an incredible gift, I had no choice but to make this my top priority. Those movies were amazing, and that so-called ‘adult film’ was absolutely mind-blowing!”
Sid’s nostrils flared as he spoke, his expression the very definition of a lecherous old man.
