Chapter 213: World Tree

Thanks to starting to grow new crops, I was able to enjoy farming with a fresh mindset again.

Since the crops change with the seasons, I don’t usually get bored, but growing completely new crops still feels exciting.

This time, he was bringing Isabella and Rose with him.

Lately, instead of Ashros, it seemed he often came with these two. I’d like to see Ashros again, but he might be busy with various things. I couldn’t be selfish, but I hoped he’d visit sometime soon.

“Yato, Isabella, Rose. Long time no see. Was it since the summer festival?”

“Sato, it’s been a while! The last time was when we did fireworks!”

“Rose and I haven’t seen you since the summer festival. Thank you so much that day—it was really fun.”

“…Sato-san, long time no see. The summer festival was really fun.”

Hearing them say that made me feel that all the preparation had been worth it. 

“So, what brings you here today?”

I was simply curious about their reason for visiting, but Yato puffed out his cheeks for some reason.

“Do I need a reason to come?”

“No, not at all… I just thought that since you came as three, there might be a reason. You’re always welcome.”

“Then that’s good! Isabella and Rose said they wanted to visit Sato, so I brought them along!”

“…We didn’t say we wanted to visit. We just wanted to thank you.”

“Yes, that’s right. We just wanted to say thank you.”

“Hmm? Doesn’t that mean you want to visit?”

On this matter, Yato was completely correct. Rose’s statement, with her ears turning bright red, was clearly out of embarrassment. And as usual, Isabella’s complete agreement left Yato in a flustered state.

“I understand why you came. Thank you for taking the trouble to come just to say thanks.”

“…Here. A gift for you.”

“You brought a present too? Is this… a necklace?”

Rose nodded in response. It was a beautiful gold necklace with a small decorative bottle attached.

I’d heard of it in games, but its effects in this world were unknown. When I heard “World Tree,” I imagined effects like reviving the dead, but surely it wouldn’t be that extreme.

“A rare medicine! Is it really okay to accept something so precious?”

Although “various things” was mostly takoyaki and shaved ice. The latte set was something Rose had acquired herself.

“Since Rose selected it for you personally, accept it graciously.”

“In that case… I’ll take it without hesitation. Thank you, Rose.”

I expressed my gratitude properly and quickly put the necklace around my neck. I worried it might break, but since it was a gift as a necklace, I decided to wear it.

“Oh! It suits you!”

“Really? I’ve never worn a necklace before, but I’m happy to hear it suits me.”

“…I’m glad you like it.”

“Thank you for the wonderful gift, Rose.”

“Muu… I want to give a present too! Sato refused to accept mine!”

Yato’s gift had clearly been far too rare. World Tree’s Dew was just barely acceptable, but Yato’s gift had gone far beyond that line.

“If it’s an appropriate gift, I’ll accept it. But I can’t accept family treasures or relics.”

“Then I’ll look for a gift for you! So if I get it myself, you’ll accept it, right?”

“Yes, of course. Don’t get too carried away, though.”

“I understand! Nufufu! What should I give?”

Yato’s smile was slightly intimidating, but he probably wouldn’t bring anything too extreme.

For now, I decided not to think about the gift and focused on finishing my farm work first.

Since they came to visit, I wanted to finish work quickly and make some free time.

I had also received a precious necklace, so I wanted to make sure I treated them well.

With that in mind, I threw myself back into farm work.
