Just another Isekai Lover~
Chapter 159: Uproar
Thanks to Douglas sharing his valuable knowledge, I’d started working with Lua’s party to plan a hunt for aquatic monsters.
Of course, farming was still my main focus, but—like when I built the bath—laying out plans for something new in another field was incredibly fun in its own way.
To handle underwater exploration, I’d asked Rozzo and Sid if it was possible to make diving-style gear with magic tools.
Their answer: it might be doable.
The same magic-tool artisan who’d crafted my bath’s temperature regulator had agreed to take the job this time too. I really owed them thanks someday.
Honestly, I’d love for them to move near this villa… but according to Rozzo, they were still a wildly popular artisan. So, no luck there.
For now, the aquatic monster hunt was on hold until I heard back about the magic tool. In the meantime, I focused on my farm work and my usual peaceful routine—
Until I noticed a commotion coming from the back mountain.
“Sato, something’s going on back there,”
“I wonder what happened? This morning, Lime and the others went out to play, and Brittany went to look for them. Maybe she found something.”
I couldn’t make out the words, but Brittany’s voice was loud enough to carry all the way here.
Normally, I’d think “incident,” but trouble in our quiet back mountain? It was hard to picture.
Still… better to check, just in case.
I paused my work and headed for the mountain, with Sheila and Helena accompanying me as guards.
I’d assumed Brittany wasn’t far—her voice had carried to the fields, after all.
But when I finally spotted her, she was farther than expected. That meant she must’ve been shouting really loudly.
“Brittany! Are you alright? I heard you from the fields and came running. Um… what exactly are you doing?”
“Quit asking and grab on. Lime won’t let go at all.”
She was clutching a pair of legs sticking out of Lime’s body, desperately trying to pull them free.
The sight was so bizarre I froze for a second. But paired with her words, the image that came to mind was… Lime trying to eat someone.
“Lime! Stop! That might be a person you’ve got there!”
I rushed over and grabbed the legs to help—
But they didn’t budge. Whoever it was, their upper body was completely inside Lime, and they weren’t moving at all.
While I was panicking, Helena remained calm and put a hand on my shoulder.
“Master, wait. Something’s off here.”
“Off? In what way?”
“Lime’s friends are coming this way… and they’re carrying medicinal herbs.”
I looked where she pointed. Sure enough, several slimes were hurrying over from the stream, herbs balanced on their heads.
…Wait. Could it be Lime wasn’t attacking at all?
“Brittany! Stop pulling!”
“What? If we don’t get them out, they might die!”
“It’s the opposite! Lime might be trying to save them!”
At that, Brittany finally let go.
Right on cue, the slimes arrived and passed the herbs to Lime, who absorbed them and worked them into the body trapped inside.
It was like watching a medical machine in action—if that machine happened to be a slime.
I’d heard from Sheila that wild slimes sometimes ate small children, so my first reaction had been fear. But Lime… Lime would never.
The best thing to do now was trust them.
About fifteen minutes later, Lime slowly released the person they’d been holding.
Out came a woman with twisted horns and bluish skin.
At a glance, she wasn’t human—though, given examples like Yato and Ashros, I couldn’t rule it out entirely.
Even with her eyes closed, I could tell she had sharp, striking features. Her body was muscular yet full-figured, her ears seemed long…
A dark elf, maybe?
“Lime, you were treating her, weren’t you?”
Lime bounced twice, as if nodding. So they had been helping.
“So that’s how it was. Sorry for doubting you.”
Brittany said.
“I’m sorry too.”
I added.
In response, Lime just rubbed against us happily. They really were a sweet slime.
But one question remained—who was this blue-skinned woman?
I asked Lime, but they didn’t know either. Apparently, they’d just found her collapsed while playing in the mountain.
Given the geography, she shouldn’t have been able to reach the back mountain without passing our villa first… unless she could fly, like Yato.
Either way, we’d have to wait for her to wake up.
Brittany and Sheila took turns carrying her on their back, and we all made our way down the mountain.
