Chapter 155: A Long-Awaited Visit to Lanzole

Five days had passed, and the land cultivation by Helena, Moji, and Thread was complete.

The farmland had expanded a level, and now they could grow even more crops.

At the same time, Marshal had finished training the goblin squad under the unit leader.

Starting from yesterday, they had already begun harvesting.

With that in motion, Rua and the others also set off on their adventure yesterday.

They were full of spirit, so they’d surely bring back great results.

“It’s already been a week since we started farming, hasn’t it? I feel like working even on our day off.”

“That’s no good. You have to take at least one proper break a week.”

“Hehe, I know. You’re quite stubborn, Sato-san.”

It’s not really about being stubborn, but if they’re willing to take a break, that’s good enough for me.

For now, we’ve planned to take turns having rest days, and today it’s my and Sheila-san’s turn.

Tomorrow, Portia-san and Lois-san will rest, then the day after that, Helena and Moji. We’re rotating breaks two people at a time.

Only monsters like Crow, who have irreplaceable roles, don’t get to rest — but eventually, I want to bring in more monsters who can fill in, so they too can take breaks.

“I don’t think I’m stubborn. Anyway, shall we head to Lanzole today? It’s been a while.”

“Ah, I’d love to go! If we’re going to Lanzole, then maybe taking a break isn’t so bad after all.”

“You’re flexible, Sheila-san. Alright then, let’s ride Ash and head to Lanzole.”

Since she was eager, we decided to head to Lanzole together for the first time in a while.

We gave Ash some treats and hopped onto the carriage.

About an hour later, with the carriage gently rocking and light conversation to pass the time, we arrived at Lanzole in no time.

“Oh—this view of Lanzole, it’s been so long. Has it been about half a year? By the way, do we still have any of the magic orbs we bought last time?”

“Just one [Heal] magic orb left. We’ve used up the rest.”

We used one of the [Heal] orbs on Yato-san, and the rest were used during dungeon exploration.

As for the [Hail Blizzard] orb, it was a one-time-use kind, so I didn’t feel it had a very strong effect.

Helena, who had been in the dungeon with us, had unleashed magic as powerful—or more powerful—than Hail Blizzard repeatedly.

Personally, I felt like I’d gotten to experience using magic, so I didn’t regret the purchase at all… but I probably won’t buy offensive magic orbs again.

“Come to think of it, we did use quite a few in the dungeon. Planning to buy more?”

“I do plan to get some healing magic orbs. Not so much the offensive ones.”

“Really? I thought they’d be good for self-defense, but I’ll leave that decision up to you, Sato-san.”

They might help in self-defense, but I doubt I’d be able to use one effectively in the heat of the moment since I’m not used to them.

Plus, with Sheila-san and Helena around, I don’t really feel the need for them as a self-defense measure.

Thinking about all that, we made our way to the “Magic Cabinet” shop we’d visited before.

It had been six months since our last visit, and reassuringly, nothing had changed.

“Welcome! …Oh, you’re the ones who came here before, right?”

As soon as we opened the door, the shopkeeper cheerfully greeted us.

And apparently, he remembered us too.

“We’ve only been here once—do you really remember us?”

“Of course! We had quite a conversation, and you bought a bunch of magic orbs! Are you here to shop again today?”

“Yes. The healing magic orbs were really good, so we came to get more.”

“Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked them and came back. That makes me really happy.”

I was happy too that the shopkeeper remembered us.

He was energetic and cheerful—if this store were nearby, I’d probably come every day.

“They really were good items. We plan to buy healing orbs again, but do you have any other recommendations?”

“Hmm, recommendations… This staff with Assist Support is selling quite well. Do either of you use magic?”

“Nope, not at all.”

“I can use a little, but I rarely have the chance.”

“Hmm… in that case, it might not be very useful. Let me go grab a few other items for you!”

“Thanks.”

A staff with “Assist Support” already sounds appealing just from the name.

While neither Sheila-san nor I use magic, it might be a good gift for Helena or Moji.

“Hey Sheila-san, what do you think about giving that staff to Moji or Helena as a gift? If it really makes a difference, maybe it’d be worth buying…?”

“Hmm… Moji and Helena can already use magic without support, so I’m curious if it’d even help them. If it does work even for skilled magic users, then sure, I’d say it’s worth considering.”

“Alright, let’s ask the shopkeeper. If it works, we can buy one and see how it goes. If it turns out useful, we can always come back for a second.”

“Sounds good to me. I’m not good with magic, but I’d still like to try using an Assist Support staff.”

In that case, the purchase is practically decided.

Depending on the price and effectiveness, we might even grab two if we’re not getting anything else.
