Chapter 139: The Food Problem

Thanks to staying alert on our way back, we returned to the dungeon entrance without much trouble.

For a first day, it was a huge success. As everyone stepped out of the dungeon with satisfied expressions… we spotted the others, who seemed to have returned ahead of us.

“Ah, it’s Sato!”

“Perfect timing! We just got back too!”

Yato-san was the first to notice me and called out, while Mika explained the situation.

We’d made it to the 13th floor, yet it was still just before evening.

I had assumed the others were still inside the dungeon since they’d gone in after us, but they were already back — faster than expected.

Lime and Mash were experienced, and while Lua’s party might not technically be veterans, the members are all very capable.
Still, if they reached the 10th floor, that return time is really fast.

“You made it back already? That’s a surprise. Did you go as far as the 10th floor?”

“Indeed! I’m the one who defeated the cow monster!”

“Everything just felt lighter this time! Even though we were explaining things along the way, our pace was super fast!”

“It’s true. I felt in my best condition ever.”

“I think it’s thanks to Lua! Whenever I’m with her, my body feels lighter and healthier!”

Joel supplemented Mika and Ren’s comments with that observation.

I had forgotten that Sheila has a similar kind of skill.

Apparently, Lua’s presence doesn’t just help her party members, but also those nearby.

Brittany had said Lua was on par with Sheila, and I think I finally understood what she meant.

“Lua-san really is amazing. I even feel lighter just doing farm work around her. It’s like a one-of-a-kind skill.”

“It’s not a skill per se… but if it helps everyone, that makes me happy. Thanks to Sato, Brittany, and Joel, I remembered the joy of battle again.”

“I’m just using you. No need to thank me or anything.”

I thought our party had good vibes, but theirs was just as great.

Even though Brittany says things like that, she looked genuinely happy.

“I don’t get it! Everyone else got to feel it, that’s unfair!”

“Milady, your base power is simply too strong, so you likely didn’t notice the effect. It would be unreasonable to blame the others.”

Ashros tried to explain, but Yato puffed up her cheeks in frustration.

Since her humanoid form greatly suppresses her strength, she probably can’t sense small changes like the others.

“Well, the important thing is, it went well for everyone, right? Let’s not chat here — let’s grab some food!”

“Shoji and I already picked out a place, so let’s go there.”

“Thank you, Yui-san, Shoji.”

And so we headed out for dinner.

Apparently, it was a restaurant that opened about six months ago — a first for all of us.

Yato’s eyes were sparkling as she ordered all sorts of dishes, clearly excited.

We mostly went with Ren’s group’s recommendations, and after several minutes of waiting…

“…It’s not tasty.”

Yato’s expression soured drastically, her previous excitement vanishing.
She puffed her cheeks again.

She had probably expected to eat Japanese food, which explains her disappointment.

“Milady, that’s very rude.”

“But Sato’s food is hundreds of times more delicious!!”

“Compared to Sato’s cooking, this world’s food is downright garbage.”

“Right? Yato, you felt the same, didn’t you?”

“Ugh… I had forgotten, but yes, that’s true.”

“For food in this world, this is actually high-quality.”

“Exactly! Yato, don’t be so spoiled!”

After being convinced, Yato begrudgingly began eating.

We’ve got plenty of NP (magic resource) to spare, and if I can cook here, I wouldn’t mind making some Japanese meals.

Maybe it’s time to consider stocking up on instant noodles, too.

“If it’s just once a week, I’ll prepare something myself — so please try to bear with the local food in the meantime.”

“You can cook here too?! Sato is truly a genius chef!”

“I’ll probably only manage cup noodles, so don’t get your hopes up too much…”

“Even cup noodles would be amazing! Compared to your usual cooking, sure, they fall short, but I’ve been craving them!”

“Same here. Back in Japan, they were cheap and convenient, but now I really miss them.”

“If you can make cup noodles, I’d be happy. Nothing beats them when it’s cold.”

“…Ugh, it’s so sad I can’t relate.”

While the rest of us were getting nostalgic over cup noodles, Sheila looked downcast, feeling left out.

Everyone else seemed really curious too — I guess a weekly cup noodle night is officially on the schedule.

For now, I comforted Sheila as we all enjoyed our meal together.
