Chapter 122: High Sylph
“I’ve made the purchase. I believe a High Sylph has been summoned nearby.”
And so, we decided to step outside and greet the High Sylph.
The moment we stepped out, we saw a tall woman with long hair looking around near the field.
Could that be… the High Sylph?
I had expected her to look human, but seeing her in person, she truly did look just like a human.
She had beautiful golden hair and a slender, attractive figure.
She wore something like a silk dress, giving off the impression of a lovely fairy.
“Are you… the High Sylph?”
When I called out to her, she turned toward me and immediately broke into a smile, then suddenly lunged in for a hug. Caught completely off guard by her unexpected action, my body froze.
“Ah—! N-No, that’s not allowed! You can’t just hug me!”
Seeing that I was stunned and overwhelmed, Sheila quickly pulled the High Sylph off me.
I could still feel the softness of her chest pressed against me, and it left me a bit dazed… but I somehow managed to keep my composure.
“Sheila, thank you. And… nice to meet you, High Sylph-san.”
I usually spoke to monsters without honorifics, but with how soft and human she seemed, I instinctively added one.
Crow and Ash also snuggled up to me when we first met, so I knew this was normal behavior for monsters.
I reminded myself of that and pressed on with the conversation.
“You must be my Master, correct?”
“You can talk?”
“Yes, I’ve learned your language. I’m glad my Master is such a kind person.”
She smiled again as she spoke. With her ability to converse so fluently, it was becoming hard to see her as a monster at all.
“Honestly… you really do just look like a human. Sato-san, have you decided on a name for her yet?”
“No, not yet. I’ll think about it, so please give me a moment.”
“You’re going to name me, Master? I’m looking forward to it!”
I actually had a name in mind, but since she looked so much like a person, I didn’t feel right giving her one casually.
Lime, for example, got its name instantly, so it might seem unfair to her, but I wanted to give this one more thought.
“…I’ve decided. From today on, I’ll call you Helena. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Helena… Helena! What a lovely name. Thank you so much, Master.”
I remembered a story about sylphs turning into butterflies, so I chose the name from the Helena morpho, a beautiful butterfly species.
It had a proper origin and a pleasant sound—so I felt confident it was the right choice.
“Helena, my name is Sheila. It’s nice to meet you. But before that, I have one piece of advice for you.”
“Sheila, got it. And what is this advice you wish to give me?”
“Do not touch Sato-san so carelessly!”
“Eh!? But why? He is my Master—I want to be close to him!”
“Sato-san is weak to women! Making him nervous isn’t good for his health, so only touch him if absolutely necessary!”
“Gaaah…!”
Helena’s face fell in despair at Sheila’s words.
It was harsh to say I’m “weak to women,” but… it was true, so I had no comeback.
If she hugged me out of nowhere again, I might not be able to focus on work at all.
While a small part of me felt it was a shame, I appreciated Sheila for stepping in and saying what needed to be said.
“Helena, you really just look like a beautiful woman, so we’d appreciate it if you’d respect that for the sake of decency.”
“…Hmm. If Master says so, I will try my best to restrain myself.”
“Thank you. So, where will you be staying, Helena? I can offer you a room in the villa.”
“To live under the same roof as Master…! Yes, please let me have a room.”
“…But remember, no touching!”
And so, Helena ended up living with us at the villa.
She looked and talked completely like a human, and now that we’d be living together, I couldn’t see her as a monster anymore.
Since I was the one who purchased her, Helena seemed to have feelings of affection toward me… but I had to keep my instincts in check and behave properly.
With Sheila keeping a close eye on things, I should be fine… but I’ll need to stay vigilant.
