Chapter 116: Big Excitement

I served curry to Yato-san, Ashros-san, and Sheila-san, and all three looked completely satisfied.

There’s still plenty left, so I’ll have Rozzo-san and the others eat the rest.

While thinking about that, I glanced over at Yato-san, who was sprawled out like a puddle on the living room floor. She looked like a slime beside Lime, and Ashros-san smiled gently at the sight of her.

“Satou-san, thank you so much. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the lady this happy.”

“Not at all. Did the curry suit your taste?”

“Yes. I was hesitant at first because of how it looked, but the taste was the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life.”

Hearing Ashros-san say that brought a wave of relief.

Unlike Yato-san, Ashros-san doesn’t show her emotions much, so I wasn’t sure how she felt about it.

As for Yato-san… after yelling things like “It looks like poop! It looks like poop!”, she got a stern scolding from food-loving Sheila-san, which made her sulk a little. But once she tasted the curry, she was so moved by how delicious it was that she started dancing around in excitement.

“If you enjoyed it that much, then it was worth making. I figured the appearance might have been a concern.”

“Well, the lady’s outburst didn’t help matters…”

“True enough. …Oh, that’s right. Ashros-san, are you able to read?”

“Yes. I’ve mastered both reading and writing.”

“Then I’ll show you an interesting book later. I think you’ll really like it.”

Might as well spread manga culture too.

If she can read, I’m sure he’ll enjoy it.

“Ooh? That sounds interesting! I can read too, you know!”

“Huh? Yato-san, you were awake?”

“I was dozing off, but then I heard something fun, and I woke right up!”

I had assumed Yato-san couldn’t read, but if she can, maybe we should all head to the recreation room together.

“Since Yato-san’s awake and can read, why don’t we all go to the recreation room?”

“Recreation room? Is that a fun place?”

“It’s a very fun place. I think Sheila-san is probably in there already.”

“Then I want to go!”

“I’d like to check it out as well. I’m curious about this ‘interesting book’.”

And so, I decided to introduce Yato-san and Ashros-san to the recreation room.

Even if they don’t like manga, there are still games—they’ll surely enjoy something.

“Ah! Sheila is doing something weird!”

Yato-san, who ran into the room first, shouted after seeing Sheila-san leaning forward and intensely playing a game.

It looked like Sheila-san was practicing Super Smash Bros.

“Satou-san, you introduced the recreation room to Yato-san and the others?”

“Yeah. I thought we could all have some fun together.”

“I wanna play! What is that strange thing Sheila is doing?”

“A divine tool…? No, I don’t believe so. …It’s something even my knowledge doesn’t cover.”

“This is called a video game. Want to try playing it before I show you the manga?”

“Yes, please let me try!”

Before the eager Yato-san could answer, Ashros-san—clearly intrigued—responded first.

Even without changing expression, his eyes were locked onto the screen, showing just how curious she was.

I gave the two of them a quick explanation of the controls, and then we started a 4-player match.

Everyone chose a character, and the game began.

“Take that—! Sheila, perish!”

Yato-san set her sights on Sheila-san and attacked wildly—both in the game and physically.

“…Ugh! I died!”

But Sheila-san, having secretly practiced, easily took her down.

Ashros-san self-destructed with a tilted head, so it quickly came down to just me and Sheila-san.

“Satou-san, I won’t lose!”

Sheila-san’s eyes were serious—but we’re not on the same level.

This may be my first time playing the Switch version, but I played the Nintendo 64 version to death.

I considered holding back, but both Sheila-san and Velvet-san never held back when teaching me swordsmanship, and I appreciated that.

Hoping to help them grow, I decided to give it my all.

“Woooah! Satou is amazing! Even Sheila, who beat me, didn’t stand a chance!”

“T-Total defeat…! I was confident, but it looks like I’m still no match for Satou-san.”

“It’s…deep. It’s not just fun—it has depth… Incredible.”

Sheila-san didn’t seem discouraged, and Yato-san and Ashros-san looked even more interested.

I’m glad I didn’t hold back.

“So yeah, there are all kinds of games here, so let’s all play together when we come to this room.”

“This place is heaven! The food is delicious, and there’s so much fun stuff! I want to live here!”

“I’d like to live here too… is what I’d like to say, but I can’t approve that. I’ll talk to your father and try to convince him, so let’s limit it to occasional visits.”

“Uuugh… Then I’ll play as much as I can while I’m here!”

With that, Yato-san jumped back into Smash Bros.

It makes me happy that they’re enjoying themselves, but I’m worried she might throw a fit about not wanting to leave.

…Well, I’ll leave that to Ashros-san to deal with.

I’ll just focus on enjoying myself, too.
