Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 325: Training Begins

A few days later, the preparation of the work instructions was finally completed. I received passing marks from Rosalia, Nero, and Lelie, so I’m pretty confident about it. Now, I just need to listen to the opinions of the craftsmen I’ve hired and make improvements as necessary.

Regarding the Snow Wolf, I received an official report from Lionel stating that “the Snow Wolf no longer appears in the village.” That’s a relief.

Just to be safe, it seems they decided to keep a few knights stationed here until spring. I made sure to send them hot cookies, magical stone heaters, and potions so that they could carry out their duties with peace of mind. I hope they enjoy them.

“As we discussed yesterday, the craftsmen will be coming today. For starters, I would like them to provide instruction in the workshop of the mansion as scheduled.”

“Understood. Everything is ready, Alex-niisan.”

Alex-niisan gave a big nod in response. He understands that what I’m about to do holds significant importance. Given that, he might also be worried.

However, there’s no need for concern. It’s not going to be anything that difficult. Making the fountain pens is far more complicated and requires much more concentration.

Plus, I created the work instructions specifically for this day and reviewed the production process to make it simpler. With this setup, even those without the “Craft” skill should be able to produce them adequately. Of course, full industrialization is still out of the question.

That’s probably for the best, right? It sounds feasible but also a bit frightening, so I’ll hold off on that idea.

Three craftsmen arrived. They all seemed to be of considerable age, carrying themselves with a presence that would justify calling them “master.”

First, we exchanged greetings and tried to deepen our connection. It would be great if they could relax during this process.

“Then, you were the master of the workshop until recently?”

“That’s right. However, I thought my son would feel pressured if I stayed at the workshop forever, so I decided to step back.”

“We’re in the same boat. It was fine to step back, but my craftsman blood began to stir. Just when I thought I was done, I received an invitation from Count Heine.”

“Is that so?”

It seems Alex-niisan has set his sights on the retired master craftsman.

If that’s the case, he has the technical skills and development abilities. If things go well, he could utilize his son’s workshop as well. What a strategist!

And the skill to pinpoint the master who makes it possible. I wonder where Alex-niisan’s eyes are. He doesn’t secretly have residents living in the shadows, does he?

I think it would be fun to have my own ninja too.

According to the story, all three of them seem to have the “Craft” skill. This is going to be over quickly. There’s probably not much I can teach them. If that’s the case, I’ll focus on training Lelie. First, I’ll guide her step by step…

As the tension among the three begins to ease, we promptly start the work. When I show them the work procedure manual, the three of them are surprised.

“Are you writing down how to make it on paper? What will you do if someone steals this!”

“I’ve heard rumors about it, but it seems your way of thinking is indeed different from ours.”

It seems that ordinary craftsmen have the mindset of “steal the techniques and methods by watching.” That makes sense. If they don’t, imitation products will start to circulate.

However, my thinking is different. Even if imitated, as long as I maintain an overwhelming quantity and quality, it’s fine. To achieve that, I must consistently produce high-quality items. That’s what the work procedure manual is for.

“If there’s anything you don’t understand or any improvements in this work procedure manual, feel free to let me know. I’ll redo it right away.”

“Y-yes, understood.”

The bewildered masters have no choice but to get used to this. This is how the workshop of the Count Heine family operates.

I decided to have them start making things right away: glass pens, pencils, and other stationery. There’s a lot to learn. Let’s postpone the more complex magical tool-making for now.

The masters joyfully set to work. As expected from their long experience as craftsmen. Unlike me and Rosalia, their movements are precise and efficient, without hesitation or waste. They also learn and create quickly. It seems that I might not need additional craftsmen for a while.

“Wonderful! I didn’t know such products existed!”

“I never thought of this idea. I’m impressed that you can use glass like this. Glass decorations might be a good idea too.”

“Pencils, amazing. Erasers, incredible. With these, paper won’t get dirty. I can even revise drawings halfway through.”

It seems they are praising the items. I feel a bit shy. While I observe the craftsmen, I’m currently teaching Lelie. Even without the “Craft” skill, with enough practice, she’ll be able to make anything. It’s not that complicated.

“Come on, Lelie, relax your shoulders. It’s okay to fail. And don’t compare yourself to the masters. They’ve undergone special training.”

“Y-yes, understood.”

I’m teaching Lelie how to make a pencil case. This can be made in various styles depending on the fabric pattern. It requires a sense of design. I decided to have Lelie create a pencil case with a pattern that girls would likely love. After all, this room is filled with boys.
