Chapter 116: The Old Man Wants Points

I'm not sure if it's part of the default settings, but the blessings were listed in alphabetical order. There were so many different things mixed together, making it challenging to organize them in my head.

I tried rearranging them, and sorting by type seemed the clearest, so I decided to take a closer look at them.

While I may omit less important or seemingly unusable items, here's a rough idea of the notable benefits for each category.

Basic Category:

Goddess's Blessing (25,000pt): Unlocks the ability "Grace of the goddess."

Territory Expansion (2,000pt): Expands territory by 100m x 100m.

Population Limit Increase (1pt): Increases the population limit by 1 person per point.

First, from the Basic category – it seems I've spent 25,000 points to unlock the "Grace of the Goddess" ability. My current remaining points are 24, so I must have accumulated that many points over the past nine months. I'm curious about how to earn these points, but let's move on for now. It appears that I can expand territory and increase the population limit by spending points.

Item Category:

Elixir of Healing (100pt): An elixir that can heal various wounds and illnesses.

Goddess Crystal Statue (300pt): A statue of the goddess that allows ability appraisal when touched.

Holy Sword (99,999pt): A sacred sword that significantly enhances the owner's abilities.

Next is the Item category – the "Holy Sword" is the most eye-catching. It seems like something only a hero or swordsman could equip, but I'm not sure. However, I doubt they'll let me have it... the point cost screams 'limit.'

Surprisingly, the "Elixir of Healing" seems like the most useful to me. There are various other items, but let's skip those for now.

Facility Category:

Eternal Lamp (500pt: A perpetual campfire with adjustable intensity.

Gushing Spring (1,000pt): A pure spring that never runs dry.

Teleportation Magic Circle (2,500pt): Instant teleportation between set magic circles.

Gate to the other world(-pt): A dimensional gate that allows travel to other worlds.

Moving on to the Facility category – all four of these seem extremely useful. As for the last one, it says "Gate to the other world," but considering the context, it's almost certainly leading to Earth.

Unfortunately, there's no point cost displayed for this "Gate to the other world." It remains unclear whether I haven't met some unlocking conditions or if there's another reason.

Apart from the gate, the "Gushing Spring" is essential for settlements without water sources, and I absolutely need the "Teleportation Magic Circle." I really, really want it right now. Compared to other benefits, it seems like a fairly reasonable value, and it's a bonus I want to acquire as early as possible.

(There are some incredible benefits available. But they do come with a hefty price. On the bright side, they're quantified, making goal-setting easy... To put it mildly, this is amazing.)

Just from looking at this, my motivation skyrocketed. This feels like the evolution of my skills, even though my job title hasn't changed. Thinking about what's to come, it's as if the world has completely transformed.

—Acquiring facilities through exchange points and building my ideal town—

This was the favorite game system of the old man back in Japan. Clear numerical objectives and a wide range of possibilities for imagination. It's truly an incredible ability. Since coming to this world, this is probably the most excited he’s felt.

(Additionally, what comes next is quite amazing...)

==========

About the last series, the "Special Series" – First, being able to learn the details of enhancement and evolution is fantastic. The point cost is significant, but the benefits are well worth it. The reason the "Secrets of Village Skill Enhancement" requires fewer points might be because it's limited to me personally.

(I absolutely have to bring the heroes into the village. I can't afford to wait and see anymore... It seems like I should go talk to them early.)

And then there's "Dungeon Creation." I think it might not be a good idea to create one inside the village, but having one nearby could be convenient. It would be less dangerous as long as we don't attack the boss room, and it would ensure a steady supply of meat. Leveling up would be more efficient too. I definitely want one.

Next is about the "Secrets of the World." Since it's mentioned as "all histories of the past," it should include information about the beastmen who lived in the eastern part of the continent, the past heroes who came here, and even details about the relationship between dungeons and monsters. I'm curious about why the ancient beastmen were so powerful.

Or perhaps, by unraveling history, we might understand the reason for our transmigration.

The ultimate is "Descent of the Goddess." Since there's no point cost displayed for this, it seems impossible to initiate right away. However, considering the announcement earlier, which said, "Come see me," there should be some way. Anyway, the point cost is likely to be extremely high. I'll have to be patient with this one.

There are still other benefits, but I'll check them out later.

Now, what's crucial here is, "how can I earn faith points?"

Let's take another look at the "Blessing of the Goddess."

---

Blessing of the Goddess <NEW>

Receive blessings from the goddess by consuming faith points. Faith points can be acquired through factors such as the population of the village, levels, village development, prayers to the church, and defeating monsters.

---

I want to know how many points can be acquired, but I can check the village's population increase when it happens. As for levels, I can probably grasp them by having the church appraise them daily. The expedition group can have Haruka appraise theirs.

Regarding village development, it's a bit vague, but maybe it relates to the increase in buildings and facilities? There's also the possibility that livestock is related.

Checking the prayers at the church should be easy... but what about defeating monsters? I wonder if the type of monster affects the points. If I record the types and numbers of monsters defeated each day, I should be able to get a decent estimate.

(Alright, it seems like I'm getting closer to understanding. It might not be possible immediately, but with some time, I should be able to figure it out. I'll ask Tsubaki to help with the statistics later... I'm sorry for always relying on her.)

The growth of village skills may have halted, but thanks to the new "Blessing of the Goddess" ability, my goals and desires have become quite clear.

Until now, my only goal was "survival for myself and the villagers." It was a vague but good goal, and I have no regrets or complaints. However, as the village matures, it was starting to feel a bit monotonous...

And right at that moment, this ability appeared.

I want to meet the goddess, open the gate to another world, and I definitely want teleportation circles and gushing springs. No matter how long it takes, as long as I have clear goals, I can do it.

(Uh-oh, this might be dangerous... I'm craving points so badly now. I feel like I'd do anything to collect them, even if it means breaking the world.)

The old man might be seriously going over to the dark side...
