Chapter 103: Relevance of Strategies and Monsters

Starting with the exploration of the first floor, we had already reached the fifth floor, despite starting our descent into the dungeon from noon.

How the ancient beastmen crossed the seemingly endless Great Mountain Range was still a mystery. However, with these discoveries that approached the secrets of this world, we felt a strong sense of achievement.

6th day of exploring the Eastern Forest.

After yesterday's dungeon exploration, it was confirmed that the internal structure of the dungeon up to the fifth floor was very similar to the one near the village. It is also highly likely that the rule "conquering a certain floor's boss causes the monsters released up to that floor to appear on the surface" holds true.

With that being said, two concerns arise:

The first concern is the "range where released monsters appear." - Does it only apply to the area around the conquered dungeon, or does it extend over a considerably broader area?

So far, there have been Orc sightings only around the conquered dungeons in the vicinity of the city. It's possible that the phenomenon is gradually expanding, but it doesn't seem to appear over a vast area immediately.

However, it can be inferred from the fact that Orcs were wandering near the village despite the dungeon to the east not being sealed and not even its fifth-floor boss being conquered, that "monsters released near the dungeon eventually move over a wide range." This issue will need further assessment once information from the capital and human territories is received.

The second concern is "which monsters appear on which floors."

Releasing monsters too powerful to handle could lead to a future where those without the means to fight back would be in peril. Even if there are some strong individuals capable of countering the monsters, it would be impossible for them to protect all the inhabited areas.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you see it, the ruins' dungeon is fully opened up to the 25th floor. We decided to investigate this dungeon, identify the types of monsters that appear, and determine which floors we would conquer in the dungeon we will use.

Certainly, it would take too much time to conquer all the floors in order. So, we decided to prioritize confirming the types of monsters by using the teleportation circles.

The monsters that appeared in the ruins' dungeon were exactly the same in type and appearance as those in the dungeon near the village. Thanks to this, we finished the investigation without any trouble.
