Chapter 18: I Want to Go to the Farmhouse.

Hirune was having breakfast with Jeanne and Holly in the cafeteria.

“There's not much fruit.”

Hirune brought a pear-like fruit pricked with a fork, to her face.

(Even though each person can get one, it's only the size of a ping-pong ball. ...... Is the food situation so severe?)

It was still good enough to eat, Hirune thought as she popped it into her mouth.

A light sweetness spreads in her mouth.

“I know. I wish I could eat more.”

Holly, letting out a sigh, also took a mouthful of fruit.

"Holly. Shouldn't a saint not let her appetite get the better of her?

Holly looked up and her cheeks reddened as Hirune smiled at her.

“You're right! That's not what I'm saying. I meant that I would be happy if you had more food to eat. I didn't mean it for my own sake."

Holly said, stroking her hair and looking into the air. It was a pretty narrow escape.

"I'd love to eat some Jewel Apples."

Jeanne looked at Hirune and Holly with a smile, as she remembered the jewel apples from the West Church of the Royal Capital.

(Jewel apples are delicious. It’s like a super juicy apple.)

As Hirune recalled the sweetness, Holly said

"Yes, me too. I want some."

 She immediately replied in agreement.

 Hirune also agreed with Jeanne.

(I want to eat a lot of good food and go to bed. ...... Huh? I haven't been able to relax at all since I came to the south.)

Hirune wanted to eat a lot of good food and relax. She realized that this was the exact opposite of what it was at the moment.

(I'll have to take some sort of action.)

Nodding her head like an authoritative scientist, Hirune looked at Jeanne.

“Does jewel apple grow in the south?”

“It's a tree that grows north of the Royal Capital. In the south, mini berries and raspberries are the most common.”

Jeanne said as she collected the dishes they had finished eating with.

“Do you have any other Specialties?”

 "Specialties? ...... Hmmm, ......."

Jeanne's hands collected Hirune’s and Holly's dishes as she pondered.

“Jeanne’s hands get more artisanal by the day.”

Holly giggled as she watched Jeanne's handiwork.

It was due to sleeping with Hirune every day and receiving her blessings, but no one had noticed yet.

“Fruits are difficult. You might want to ask the farmers.”

"All right. Let's go there as soon as possible.”

(Delicious fruit! I want to eat delicious fruits!)

 Hirune nodded vigorously.

But in vain, Jeanne coughed and turned her gaze to Hirune.

“Hirune-sama. Today, we have morning prayers, rehearsal for the ceremony, scripture chanting in the Great Church after lunch, tea party with the nobles, and a meeting with the frontiersman.”

Jeanne began to recite the schedule, and Hirune deliberately covered her mouth with her hands mid-sentence.

“ What should I do. I think I left something in my room.”

The Great Saint got up and was about to leave the dining room.

Jeanne, who was standing next to her, grabbed her by the shoulders.

“Hirune-sama? You haven't forgotten anything, have you? You’re always empty-handed in the first place."

(Jeanne's smile is glittering. Is it natural holy magic? Kuh)

Jeanne has a refreshing smile on her face and appeals to her not to escape.

“Ah, that’s right. ...... I seem to have forgotten my Bible, yes, my Bible.”

“There are Bibles in every room, so you don't need to bring them with you.”

“ ............ I'm sorry.”

Without much of an excuse, Hirune sank into a chair.

Holly, watching from the table across, sighed and shrugged.

“You're really not ready to be a Great Saint, are you? It’s a good thing Hirune.  You're the star of this southern region, remember?"

Holly began to ramble on about what it meant to be a Great Saint, and Hirune began to feel sleepy within seconds.

“The Goddess Sophia took pity on us and had mercy, and it was not by human power that we were able to use holy magic.”

"Yes, yes."

"The first king who sank a casket in the lake of Ishto became the first great saint..."

“Yes, yes.”

"The Great Saint, with sorrow in his heart, the devastated land..."

“Yes. ...... Hey.”

"And so..."

"......guu"

Hirune rested her head on Jeanne's shoulder and went to sleep.

Jeanne is looking at Holly with apologetic eyes, as she talks on pleasantly.

“You're not listening to me at all! Don't fall asleep when I'm talking to you!"

She  went straight over the table and dug her finger into Hirune's cheeks

"...... Mmm?"

"You're so puffy. Your cheeks are like a baby's."

 Holly groped her fingers, astonished.

 Jeanne nodded her head.

"Your cheeks are so soft, Hirune-sama.”

 She poked her cheeks, too.

“Hmm ... Hmm? Huh?"

Hirune raised her eyelashes and stared at Jeanne and Holly with her big blue eyes.

Holly hurriedly pulled her hand away and sat back in her chair.

“I'm sorry. I think my consciousness was flying away.”( Hirune)

“I don't understand, Hirune-sama.”

Jeanne removed her hand from her cheek and adjusted Hirune’s Great Saints’ robe.

“Holly, I'm sorry. I get sleepy easily whenever I listen to you. Oh, that's right. Can you tell me a story next time before I go to bed? I'm sure I’ll definitely get a good night's sleep."

She rubbed her eyes sleepily, yawned and said.

“You'd be asleep in five seconds even without me talking ......”

 Holly crossed her arms,

“I've got it. Now, let's go talk to the farmers.”

Hirune stood up as if it was obvious.

Jeanne stopped her again with a fresh smile and stood in front of her.

"What's the matter, Jeanne?”

“We have a lot of plans today. Let's get on with it, shall we?”

“─ Let's go to the farm, have a cup of tea and watch them work.”

The Great Saint had no intention of helping even if she got there.

"It’s no good, you know? It's a very important appointment and Wanda has told you not to skip it.”

"Objection. I request a paycheck!”

"What do you mean by 'paycheck'?"

 Jeanne shook her head.

(There's no pay system in this other world ......!?)

And so, although Hirune wanted to go to the farm, she reluctantly went to the morning prayer.

Chapter 19: Let's Help Holly.

It's been a week since Hirune said she wanted to go to the farm.

The Great Church where she sleeps was undergoing repairs.

(It's coming along nicely, isn't it? I'm getting excited.)

The crumbling rubble had been cleaned up, and about 20% of the exterior walls have been covered with holy Quartz. The remaining 80% was covered with a temporary wall made of wood. This wood will eventually be replaced by holy Quartz.

“Oh…wow…The sunrise is falling through a hole in the ceiling.”

 Hirune stretches with a hmm.

Hirune's bed was set up in the chapel of the Great Church

It's covered with layers of lace so that it can't be seen from the outside.

The sight of the long, platinum-blonde Hirune rising from her bed was like a page from a story.

(Where's the chair that ruins people? ......? I can't live without it. ......)

She is truly glad that this world wasn't a place where the voice of the heart leaks out.

“Good morning, Hirune-sama. You're unusually on time. As your resident maid, I'm very proud of you.”

Jeanne approached the side of the bed with a smile.

When Hirune is asleep, only Jeanne has the right to enter the place.

“Good morning, Jeanne. You look lovely again today.”

"What are you talking about? Come on, come on, please get up.”

Jeanne blushed and took the comforter from Hirune, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

“I'm going to help Holly today. Let's get ready quickly.”

She raised her hands in the air, a rarity for her.

“Hirune-sama. You're looking forward to meeting the farmer, aren't you? Please come and stand over here.”

With a giggle, Jeanne took off Hirune’s nightgown and began to wipe her body with the warm water she had prepared in the tub.

“That’s right. I'm going to help Holly and meet the farmers. It's like killing two birds with one stone.”

“It was worth the three days of negotiating with Wanda, wasn't it?”

"Yes. Are you happy to be going out of the city, Jeanne?”

“Yes, I am. ...... Fruit growing was very popular in my village. I'm looking forward to it."

Jeanne talks and wipes Hirune's body with a cloth.

"I see.... Huuuuh ..."

 One big yawn.

 Hirune leaned back.

(This is paradise ......)

Hirune looked up at the ceiling in a daze.

The sound of Jeanne dipping the cloth into the warm water echoed in the background.

When she lowered her gaze, she saw the statue of the Goddess in the Great Church smiling kindly.

      ()

After the morning prayers, Hirune arrived at the village, two hours by carriage from  Ixendahl.

“It's nice to take a nap in the carriage, Jeanne.”

"Hm, yes, it is.”

“It seems that you've been studying hard. ...... Haaah, ......”

“I read the book on economics that Wanda gave me.”

Jeanne got out of the carriage and greeted the soldiers of the Great Saints’ guard.

Hirune bit back a yawn and stepped outside.

(I can smell the grass and trees. It's peaceful. ......)

Wooden buildings were dotted around the village, and the villagers were singing songs as they went about their daily tasks.

 The scenery was idyllic.

She was struck by how inorganic her own town was in her previous life.

"You're late, Hirune"

Holly, with her large hanging eyes and blue hair blowing in the wind, walked up to them at a fast pace.

She was wearing her saint's dress, which suited her well.

“Good morning, Holly.”

“You slept in the carriage, didn't you?”

“Jeanne's thighs are great. I'll borrow Holly's thighs for the ride home."

Hirune gives her a thumbs up.

Lounging on Jeanne's lap was for the carriage ride while coming.

"As usual......."

Holly giggled, and Hirune opened her mouth further.

“I’ll correct myself. I'll borrow Holly's glutinous thighs for the ride home.”

 Another thumbs up from Hirune.

“You don't have to rephrase ...... ‘glutinous'!”

Holly blushed and covered her thighs with her skirt.

“It's hard to get rid of either thigh. I'd like to announce that Holly's glutinous thighs are good for a tired body.”

"What announcement?"

“Holly's glutinous thighs are as glutinous as the southern castella they sell at the stalls in the back streets of Ixendahl.”

“Southern castella.......Rather, did you escape from the Great Church again?”

Holly's mouth dropped open in disbelief, and Hirune's mouth formed a straight line.

 (Oops...... I slipped up. ......)

"Hirune-sama, again ?!"

This time, Jeanne raised her voice.

“You're a Great Saint, don't take food from strangers in the stalls.”

“It's okay. I was wearing a disguise, yes.”

“What disguise is that? The civilian outfit you got from Thomas at the bedding store......?”

“Yes. Yes, if I wear it, I'm a civilian.”

Hirune, who really wanted to see the city, asked Thomas of the Valhalla Bedding Store to prepare clothes for a ten-year-old girl to wear.

It was a very fine dress, and when she'd put it on, it would give her the air of a young lady from a good place.

However, when Hirune wore them, she looked like a noble girl walking around in plain clothes, clearly not an ordinary person.

The citizens recognize the plain-clothed Hirune as the Great Saint.

With her long platinum blonde hair and starry blue eyes, she was the Great Saint herself, no matter how one looked at her. Moreover, Hirune’s paintings are becoming a long-selling product in Ixendahl, and there is not a citizen who doesn’t know what she looks like.

An old man at a stall selling southern castella saw her drooling and said, "Hey there pretty girl," pretending not to notice that she was the Great Saint, and gave away his surplus goods to her. He was a kind-hearted old man like the skewer shop owner.

“I'm sure they've all noticed ......," Jeanne said.

“Only a blind Jar wouldn't notice," Holly said, referring to a character in the Bible.

“No, no, my disguise is perfect, even the street vendor didn't notice.”

“A kindness that keeps them silent. That's how much the people love you."

Holly shrugged her shoulders and let out a sigh.

"Well, I'll have to report it to Wanda later--"

“Holly, Holly, please don't make a report. Please keep it quiet.”

 Hirune grabbed Holly's sleeve.

“It's against the rules no matter how you look at it. Moreover, It's not fair that you got to eat southern castella.”

“Oh, you want some too? Is that what this is about?”

"No, it's not!"

Holly lifted her arms to get away from Hirune's hands and turned her head away.

“I'll report you to Wanda anyway!”

“Holly ...... I’ll bring you one of the southern castellas ...... and we'll call it a deal.”

“What ...... are you talking about?”

“It's so delicious. You'll feel like you're climbing to heaven when you eat it.”

“...... No.”

“It's fluffy and sticky. It's also sweet. Speak to that pious uncle and I'm sure he'll share it with you.”

Hirune came around and peered into Holly's face.

Holly winced and turned her head away.

She thought for a moment and brushed her hair back a few times.

“Well, let's put this one on hold. ...... I guess.”

“Thank you, Holly."

 Hirune smiled at her.

Jeanne giggled happily at the sight of the two of them. She knew that it would be useless to stop Hirune.

Holly cleared her throat and straightened her back, trying to change the subject.

“So, Hirune. are you really going to help me with my work? I still have my suspicions that you're just here for fun."

Holly narrowed her eyes and stares at Hirune.

"Oh no, I'm just here to help my friend.”

 Hirune smiled at her.

Half of her wanted to help Holly and half wanted to visit the farm.

“Hmm, I see...... come on then.”

Holly said, turning on her heels, her mouth twitching. It seemed to make her happy.

Hirune and Jeanne looked at each other, smiled and followed Holly.

Chapter 20: The Orchard.

Holly's main job was to purify the orchard.

The village was protected by the power of the saints, but it seems that 90% of the orchards were no longer able to grow because of miasma.

(The harvest is minus ninety percent. ...... No wonder the fruit can't even reach the city.)

With that in mind, Hirune entered the village.

“Thank you for coming to this village, Great Saint .......”

The villagers greeted her and made the holy seal when they saw Hirune and Holly.

They seemed grateful for the visit of the Great Saint, but there seemed to be a feeling of resignation behind their expressions.

(They're welcoming, but they're kind of apathetic?)

The Saints were little girls like Hirune, and they seemed disappointed.

The village looked idyllic, but when they entered, there was a sense of loneliness in the air.

Hirune and her friends greeted the village chief and walked through the village to the orchard.

(This is ...... devastating ......)

Most of the trees in the orchard had fallen over due to the demons.

The soil was upside down and miasma was stuck to the fallen trees.

“The people in the village are depressed because the orchard is in such a state.”

Holly said sadly as she approached the miasma.

“that’s why we saints will purify the land as best as we can.”

Reciting a scripture cheerfully, Holly held up her hands and used the purification magic.

With a twinkle of stardust, the miasma disappeared from five meters around.

But soon miasma began to creep up, like water seeping out of the ground.

“It doesn't matter how many times you try to purify it….it won’t work. Yesterday I did my best to use purification magic to purify the area from there to here."

Holly pointed to the area she had purified.

(They’ve only made a little progress...... Holly’s still purifying, she’s not giving up.)

Holly's dedication was dazzling to Hirune. She thinks about what a wonderful girl she is.

"Even if we do purify it, we'll have to come up with another way to revive the orchard. ......"

Holly crossed her arms. Jeanne and the soldiers guarding her also began to think seriously.

Hirune also groaned and began to think.

(It's not enough to just purify ...... and then ...... oh, the sun is warm and I'm sleepy ......, I shouldn't, I shouldn't.)

Hirune looked around, Pinching her own thighs.

Then, at the edge of the orchard, she saw a figure moving.

Hirune approached it. Jeanne and Holly followed her.

“I'm not giving up yet."

There was an old farmer who was swinging his hoe, muttering to himself.

He was shoving aside fallen trees and digging up the ground.

He was preparing a sapling, so it looked like he was about to plant a new tree.

“Hello, Grandpa.”

"Hmm? Oh, you’re a ...... saint, aren’t you?”

The old man put down his hoe, removed his hat, and carefully made the holy seal.

 Hirune bows.

“I'm Hirune, by the way. What are you doing here, sir?”

“I'm digging up the ground to plant sugar muscats. This is a sapling.”

"Sugar Muscat?"

Hirune asked back, it sounded delicious.

Jeanne shouted in surprise behind her.

“Sugar muscat is a fruit that was once a specialty of the south. It's so sweet, soft, and fragrant that it produces crystals!''

The old man turned his head to look at Jeanne as she leaned forward to explain.

“Are you from the South, maid?”

"Yes, I am."

 Jeanne nodded.

“The sugar muscat was good, wasn't it?”

“Yes, ...... very much.”

 Jeanne said nostalgically.

“ Don't stop me because you think I'm drunk. The people in the village are trying to stop me from working the land because they think I'm desperate. ...... Please ......”

"I heard that sugar muscats have stopped bearing fruit because of the miasma. It's been five years now. ......"

The Sugar Muscat, once a specialty of the south, is a delicate plant that will not produce fruit if it feels the slightest bit of miasma. The miasma in the south has been spreading for more than a decade, so the sugar muscat has been out of circulation for five years. In the current environment, it’s impossible to produce fruit.

“I can't give up! I want my grandchildren to eat Sugar Muscat again! So, Great Saint, please leave me alone!”

The old man said so, took his hoe and started digging.

Hirune, who had been listening to the conversation, looked at the soil and noticed something.

(Huh? It seems like the miasma was mixed with the soil for a moment there. ...... Did it escape into the ground to avoid the light?)

Hirune squints her eyes and looked at the area where the old man’s hoe was swinging down.

The miasma was only visible for a moment as the earth was dug up with a crunching sound, then quickly disappeared into the ground.

(I knew it! Is the miasma that is contaminating the orchard sensitive to light? But the miasma that sticks to the ...... fallen trees seems to be unaffected by the sun. ...... ......)

Hirune remembered the lecture she had received from when she was an apprentice.

(Come to think of it, in Wanda's lecture, she mentioned that there was some miasma that had a core, and that if you cut off the ends, it would merge with the main body and return to its original form. ......)

"Grandpa ......"

Jeanne murmured in a pained tone.

“No matter what I say, he’s always like that. He doesn't listen to me, even when I tell him to stop because it’s dangerous.”

 Holly looked at him worriedly.

The soldiers guarding them were watching him, as if they understood how he felt.

(...... Let's give it a try.)

Only Hirune was thinking about something else and approached the old man.

"Hirune?"

Holly's call went unheard, and a thought came to Hirune.

"Grandpa, excuse me for a moment.”

“What? Saint?"

Hirune knelt down in front of the soil that the old man had dug up and put her hands into it.

“Huh?!”

“Hirune-sama?!”

Holly and Jeanne shouted at Hirune’s strange behavior.

Chapter 21: Let's Purify the Ground.

Not caring if her clothes got dirty, Hirune buries her arms in the ground.

(Omitting scriptures-- Holy magic of detection--!)

Stardust flew out from Hirune's entire body.

The holy magic to grasp the location of the miasma was exercised, and a strong miasma reaction was reflected in Hirune's brain.

(Wow, ......, there's a huge chunk of miasma. And there are several of them. If we don't purify them, the orchard will never recover. ......!)

The ground is dotted with miasma blocks, about the size of a carriage.

“Ok."

Hirune decided to try to purify the nearby miasma core.

This was the first time she had ever tried to purify miasma in the ground.

Hirune thought of the explorers she had seen on TV in her previous life, and formulated her magic power.

(Plunging into the ground with holy magic -- purification!)

An oversized magic circle unfolded around Hirune, and a dazzling light shone like a spotlight on a stage.

"Hirune!"

“Hirune-sama?”

"Hyah!"

Holly and Jeanne narrowed their eyes, and the old man farmer fell back on his butt in surprise.

(Imagine purification magic for underground--more magic--)

Hirune injects magic power with great enthusiasm.

The stardust erupted into pieces, then it gathered together, and ten mini-hirune wearing safari hats appeared.

The mini-Hirune’s saluted and disappeared into the earth, leaving behind a residue of stardust.

About one mini-hirune yawned loudly, sat down on the hoe that the old man had thrown away in surprise, and began to slump down. It looked as if it were about to fall asleep.

“......"

(Is it because It’s the captain that It must get skipped over every time ......?)

While thinking that, Hirune maintained the magic with her hands still in the soil.

"Hirune? Don't use holy magic without explanation!"

“Hirune-sama!”

Holly and Jeanne rushed over to see the glow of the magic circle.

“Saint, is this ......?”

The old man farmer was sitting on his butt with his mouth open.

“There's a clump of miasma under the ground, and it’s the main cause of the miasma on the ground.”

Hirune looked at Holly and Jeanne, they looked at the ground in surprise.

“If we don't get rid of the main, the miasma will keep coming back. I’m sure it’ll contaminate the area that Holly worked so hard to purify. Let's eliminate the source of the evil!"

(Crush the roots and we're good to go, right?)

"underground? No way. ......"

Holly was shocked and bit her teeth in frustration as she looked at the ground.

 Hirune smiled at Holly.

“You have to help me, Holly. I think the miasma will probably escape from the ground.”

When Hirune said that much, the ground rose up like an explosion, and sparkling stardust spewed out like a fountain.

"Wow!"

( It's like a hot spring!)

"Yikes!"

"Hirune-sama!"

Holly shook her shoulders and Jeanne shielded Hirune from the soil.

The ground was very wet, and the soil was quite moist.

“Thank you, Jeanne. I'm fine.”

“I'm glad. Do you think you can get rid of the miasma?”

"Yes, I'm still a great saint, so I'm pretty sure I can do it.”

Jeanne nodded her head with a smile and stood behind Hirune.

She seemed to be planning to stay close by and watch until the end.

In the meantime, stardust erupted like a fountain all over the orchard, and the soil jumped up from the impact. It seemed that the miasma was rolling around in the ground, trying to escape from the purification process, like a large fish being caught in a net.

“Holly, the miasma is trying to escape!”

Hirune shouted with her hands still in the soil.

In the direction she was looking, there was a black haze-like miasma floating in the air.

The miasma that had failed to be purified was coming out of the ground and trying to gather.

"So that's what you meant by help!"

Holly immediately recited a scripture and cast a spell, "Purify!”.

The stardust fluttered and the miasma disappeared.

"You did it, Holly!”

"Go ahead and purify the rest! I'll take care of the ground!”

Holly took out her wand from the sleeve of her saint’s dress and held it at the ready.

It was a special wand exclusively for Holly to enhance her magical powers.

“Wow Holly, you want to eat the fruit that badly. ......”

“No, I don’t! Don't say anything strange."

Holly exclaims, "I don't know what you're talking about," as she lets her holy magic fly.

“I know."

 Hirune mumbled with a smile.

(Holly's a sweet girl. ......)

“Soldiers! Please defend the orchard and the entrance to the village, prevent any miasma from spreading to the village!”

Holly instructed the soldiers guarding her, and they all nodded, drew their swords, sprinkled holy water, and ran off.

(Hmm ...... is this area ok?)

Hirume pulled her hands out of the soil and turned to face the old man who was on his butt.

"Grandpa, may I have your cooperation with the purification?”

"Help?"

“Yes. Next, I'd like to do the ...... purification from that side. Please dig up the soil with a hoe. We'll get the orchard back together."

Hirune pointed to the back of the orchard.

The old man's bewildered expression changed to a smile, and he stood up, slapping his knee.

“Leave it to me! Let's go!"

The old man gladly picked up the hoe and started running.

Then, the slacker mini-hirune who was rowing the boat on the hoe was thrown off and fell against the sugar muscat sapling with a plop. The stardust safari hat that she was wearing fell down. The mini-hirune made a stardust nose ring and started to doze off.

“We should go, too.”

With a bang and a whack of stardust and dirt, the Hirune and the others moved on.

The old man dug up the soil with tremendous vigor saying, "Oh, we’re going to revive the orchard!"

“Oh, that's fine….slow down, You’ll get tired later."

“Ok!”

The old man lowered the hoe.

“I think I'm going to take a nap.”

Hirune yawned and put her hands in the soil.

“I can't let a speck of dirt get on you. As your personal maid!”

Jeanne took off her apron and spread it out with both hands.

She seemed to be trying to guard against the flying dirt.

“It's not fair that you're hiding in the soil. How dare you embarrass me. ......!"

Holly smiles wickedly and holds up her staff.

“Here we go…..purification!"

As Hirune exercised her holy magic, a magic circle spread out.

      ()

After that, they repeated the process of digging a hole and purifying the ground.

When they started, Hirune was optimistic that this would be over soon, but by the time they had purified the entire orchard, the sun was about to set.

“I'm hungry ...... and sleepy ......."

(I worked on the purification process from before noon till  evening ...... black ......)

Perhaps it was because of her previous life as a working woman, but Hirune felt like she couldn't leave until it was over.

(Why didn't I just take a break or something?)

It was the first time she had regrets.

Looking around the orchard, the miasma had disappeared.

 Normal air was flowing.

Hirune sat down on a fallen tree, which was just the right height.

“I want to eat ...... and take a bath ...... and sleep ......."

“I agree ...... I'm hungry too ......”

Holly sat down next to Hirune, moving slowly, she was tired too.

“I'm sorry, Hirune-sama. You ended up covered in mud."

Jeanne was guarding against the flying soil with her spread apron, but she lost to the quantity of it.

The three of them were covered in mud like battered croquettes.

“I'll do my best next time!”

 Jeanne clenched her fists.

“Jeanne is doing just fine. ......”

“Your physical energy is strange.”

“Please share your energy with me, maid. ......”

Hirune, Holly, and the old man sitting exhausted, said.

Jeanne blushed and moved her hands in a flurry.

“I don't think that’s the case. I get tired too ...... Huh? not that much actually.”

Jeanne chuckled as she realized that she was tireless.

“I'm glad you're doing well. Oh yeah. Could you get me a drink from the village? I'm really thirsty.”

"Got it!"

 Jeanne nodded then ran off.

A few seconds later, Jeanne came back with something big in her hands, shouting “Hiii-Ruuu-Nee- sama!”

Chapter 22 - The Purification Reward.

"It’s amazing! The sugar muscat sapling is growing!"

The sapling, which had been the size of a hand earlier, was now almost as tall as Jeanne.

The small potted plant was cracked and roots were growing from everywhere.

"What the..?!"

The old man jumped up and rushed over to Jeanne.

“Oh, ...... it's growing. ...... It's a miracle. ...... It's a miracle!"

The old man jumped up and down, throwing his hands up in the air.

(The Sugar Muscat is growing. ...... I didn't use any such magic. ...... Hmm?)

Hirune noticed a sleeping being at the base of the sugar muscat.

(Oh, the alter ego of the purification magic I skipped.)

There was a mini-Hirune, a collection of stardust, sleeping there.

Perhaps the mini-hirune noticed her gaze, it popped its stardust nose ring and woke up with a start.

She stretched in the exact same motion as Hirune and turned her attention to the sugar muscat trunk.

“Is this Hirune’s purification magic?”

Jeanne, holding the sugar muscat, nodded her head.

“that little Hirune ...... is the only one left? The purification magic should have worn off by now, right?"

Holly peeked at the glittering mini-hirune and wondered.

 That's when it happened.

The mini-hirune laughed at her and was sucked into the sugar muskrat, and then dissipated into stardust.

"--Ah!"

 Jeanne shouted.

A small fruit grew on the thin branch of the sugar muscat, and it grew and grew.

After a few puffs and puffs of stardust, the fruit eventually grew into a large cluster of sugar muscats.

"There's a fruit! Look, Hirune!"

 Holly pointed happily.

The weight of the fruit caused the branch to droop down about fifty degrees.

“It's true.”

(Did she understand my intentions? It seems that girl wasn’t a slacker after all. ...... Thank you ......)

Smiling, Hirune used holy magic to cut and harvest the sugar muscats.

“What does it taste like?"

“Sugar muscats, ohhh! It’s a miracle! A miracle of the Saint!”

The old man was so overcome with emotion that he cried loudly.

"Come on, Holly and Jeanne, let's try some.”

Hirune held out a sugar muscat for them to take.

“Hirune-sama and Holly-sama’s hands are dirty. I'll feed them to you."

Jeanne smiled, pulled a handkerchief out of her pocket, carefully wiped her hands, and plucked a sugar muscat fruit.

The juice overflowed from the spot where she picked it, and the sweet scent spread.

The fruit was about the size of a ping-pong ball, and was a light green color.

"Yes, Hirune-sama, ahhh."

"Ahhh."

In a fluid exchange, a sugar muscat was placed in Hirune's mouth.

"…..oh!"

The moment she ate it, she was shocked.

(Sweet! The refreshing flavor of muscat, it feels like sugar when chewed ...!)

Sugar Muscat has a high sugar content, the sugar coagulates in the fruit and about 20% of it becomes crystals.

When you bite into it, you can enjoy a unique crunchy sensation.

“Hirune, what do you think?! Does it taste good?! Sweet?!"

Holly, who was waiting for her turn, couldn't help but be curious.

"Oihii. It's sweet.”

 Hirune moved her mouth gingerly.

When she swallowed, she said, "One more," and opened her mouth.

"Ahhh."

Jeanne quickly threw a sugar muscat into Hirune's mouth.

(Hall of Fame deliciousness! Sugar is the best when you're tired~~...)

"One more, Jeanne. Aah!"

"Hey! I want to eat some ...... too. ......"

Holly raised her voice and then suddenly felt embarrassed and blushed.

Hirune laughed and looked at Jeanne.

“Yes Holly, ahhh.”

“...... Ahhh.”

A sugar muscat was dropped into Holly's mouth as well.

“--Oh!---oh!----oh!"

Holly's body trembled as if an electric current had run through it, and she began to chew the sugar muscat with all her might.

"Aaahhhh! Oihii!"

Holly pressed her cheeks with both hands, her face slackening loosely.

“Please eat too, Jeanne.”

“Yes! Thank you very much.”

At Hirune's words, Jeanne picked up a piece of sugar muscat and put it in her mouth.

Jeanne nodded with a big smile, probably because she had eaten one before.

“This is it. It's sweet and crunchy.”

Jeanne said as she chewed on a large piece of fruit.

After the three of them had eaten the sugar muscats for a while, the old man farmer finally stopped crying and bowed deeply to Hirune and Holly.

“Jeanne, give one to grandpa.”

"Yes."

Jeanne smiled and gave him a sugar muscat.

The old man cried and wiped his face with his sleeve, saying “this is it, this is it.”

“Thank you. Seeing the saint's miracle gave me hope for life. I'm sure the Sugar Muscat will recover."

The old man let go of her arm and raised his face.

“Thank you so much for purifying the orchard, Saint. Now we can grow all kinds of fruit again. ......"

Hirune, Holly, and Jeanne looked at the old man and then, at each other.

The three of them looked like they had been caught by a fox.

“What’s the matter?"

The old man wondered about the reaction of the three.

“Um, no. ...... Well, your face is ......”

"Excuse me, but the ...... mud is ......”

Jeanne and Holly put their cheeks together and stifled their laughs.

“Fufufu……I rubbed your face with my sleeve, what trouble I’m in.....!"

Hirune pointed her finger and held her stomach.

The face of the old man had been blackened by the mud, and it had been removed only from his eyes, giving him an exquisitely salted comical face. In addition, there were traces of tears under his eyes, adding to the ridiculousness of his face.

"Fufufu...... pfft!"

Hirune began to laugh with her hands on her stomach.

"Hahahaha! Grandpa has a funny face.”

"Hirune-sama ...... that’s ...... Fufufu, pfft."

"Hey, don't laugh. ...... pfft, excuse me. ...... pfft."

Jeanne and Holly couldn't hold back their laughter either.

The old man began to scratch their heads in embarrassment when he realized it was his face.

“Well, was I rejuvenated by all this mud? I wouldn’t want to get any more manly than I already am, though! Hahahaha!"

The old man laughed hysterically as he said it to himself.

Hirune, Holly, and Jeanne laughed along with him.

If you looked closely, you could see the mud on their faces, and their clothes were almost completely black.

Noticing this, Hirune and the others pointed at each other's faces and laughed. They couldn't stop laughing.

For a while, the orchard echoed with the laughter of the three girls and the old man.
