Chapter 287: The Adoption Story (1)

At Drago and Ragune's mansion, Tauro was listening and eating with them, but he could not understand Ragune’s  explanation, and his hands became completely still.

“Are you in the royal capital for the sake of adopting me into a noble family?”

Tauro interpreted that from Ragune’s explanation and asked back.

"Mumbling... yes? That's true, but in the end, I guess you could say we came to that conclusion as a result... Aeris decided that this would be the best way to ensure Tauro’s future safety.”

“Aeris, considering my safety, ……? Could it be that you are adopting me into a noble family in order to have Viscount Saissi withdraw his assassination attempt on me?

Tauro had been thinking about how to get around after things cooled down, so Aeris’s idea really surprised him.

“Are there any nobles out there who would accept me as an adopted child in order to save my life? ……Maybe if there was an offer before, I don’t want to take advantage of their goodwill …….”

Tauro had heard that the nobles who had offered to adopt him before were a good couple, so much so that the Marquis of Van Dyne vouched for their character, so he felt guilty about being adopted there to avoid being targeted by the assassination guild.
