Chapter 18: The Villainous Aristocrat Leaves Dorana Territory

When we first met, Wendy was nine years old, but now she's twelve.

I secretly watched their mock battle the other day, and she's much stronger than me. 

She's not at the level of the Wendy from the main story yet, but she can easily defeat adults.

Well, I won't say anything about it. It's just that I lacked talent in that area.

"Onii-sama, you're going to the academy too?"

"Well, it's a noble's duty, after all."

Noble children are obligated to attend the noble academy in the capital for six years, from the age of thirteen to eighteen.

Unless the parents pass away and the child becomes the lord, in which case the obligation is waived.

That's the situation for the original Kunou.

"I don't like the academy. With both Felsy-sama and onii-sama gone, I'll be all alone."

Being twelve is the time for kids to start becoming more independent from their parents and siblings.

Maybe it was rude to suggest sleeping together with a girl her age.

"W-Well, if onii-sama insists, I can at least sing you a lullaby!!"

It seems my little sister has recently awakened her tsundere side.

It's like witnessing the Big Bang of cuteness.

"G-Geez!! What are you laughing at?!"

"Sorry, sorry!! ...So, should I let my adorable little sister sing me a lullaby?"

"Hehe... Sure!!"

That night, I listened to Wendy's lullaby, chatted, and spent time until I got sleepy.

Tomorrow, I'll be leaving Dorana territory.

Recently, with the development of a hot spring town in the Dorana territory, the number of tourists has gradually increased. 

I feel bad leaving during this busy time, but there's nothing I can do about it.

I don't have anyone I can call a friend, so when I go to the academy, I hope to make a few friends.

Ideally, I hope to find someone skilled in bloodline magic.

Farewelled by Mother, Father, and Wendy, I revved the accelerator of my mana-powered motorcycle.

There were no tears of parting.

I could come back during summer or winter breaks, and this wasn't a permanent farewell. There was no need to be sad.

After leaving the Dorana territory, I stopped the bike after a while.

"Hehehe, the time has finally come to use this."

What I pulled out from my magic bag was a magical device I had kept secret even from my family.

It was larger than the mana-powered motorcycle and heavily armored.

"Dere-dere-teree, it's a mana-powered four-wheeled armored tank. In short, a magical tank."

Oh, it's not a tank in the traditional sense, it can't shoot shells or anything.

The weaponry it carries is a prototype flamethrower, functioning on the same principles as the experimental hairdryer.

Its selling point is its durability.

It boasts armor so tough that it didn't dent even when facing head-on with the large boar-like monster that used to haunt the Dorana territory.

It's crafted using magical ore and mithril sent by Reldo, as well as various rare metals.

Its speed is unmatched; it can reach a top speed of 200 km/h.

Of course, I have no intention of releasing something like this to the public. It's strictly for my personal use.

Huh? What if it gets stolen? Well, no worries. It won't function unless it's powered by my magic.

"Now then, let's hit the road!!"

I pressed the accelerator, speeding toward the vicinity of the royal capital.
