Chapter 16: Disciplinary Committee Chairman and Vice-Chairman

Maybe it was because I answered all the questions correctly on Silas sensei's quiz but while I was walking down the corridor with His Highness Grayson, people around me asked, "Are you a plant nerd?" 

After school, the school building was overflowing with students, making it a little difficult to walk around. 

However, thanks to the fact that I was with His Highness Grayson, I was not swept away by the crowds as the students cleared the way for me.

With me almost screaming, His Highness Grayson opens the door of the room.

A purplish-white light emanated from my body, creating a translucent wall in front of His Highness Grayson.

When I peeked out from behind His Highness and looked down, I saw a fist-sized ball was rolling on the floor.

The black-haired young man nodded his head in agreement with my thoughts and tapped on my shoulder as if saying, "Deactivate this for now." 

The improvised barrier is the same as the wall and cannot be moved, so the only way to get inside was to deactivate it. 

I don't want to because I haven't yet been able to confirm who threw the ball and why, but that's not going to get us anywhere… so I have to deactivate it.

His Highness Grayson is quite calm though.

With one foot in the room, I stared at his large back in confusion.

"Is there something wrong?" is what I tried to say but was interrupted by a large man appearing from the side.

"Cha!"

Before I had time to let out a scream, the man was rapidly approaching us.

As he raised his wooden sword like a club──── the beautiful young man with black hair stepped forward.

He easily slips into the opponent's path, grabs the hand holding the wooden sword, and pulled it from him.

While the other man was shouting, "What…?"──── His Highness Grayson drove his knee into his groin as hard as he could and the other man-made a strange noise.

"What's…?"

"Your swings are too big."

The black-haired young man spoke to the large man who was laying on his stomach and roughly yanked the wooden sword from his hand.

Without batting an eyelash, he turned his attention to the desk in the back of the room────I don't know what he was thinking, but he threw the wooden sword in his hand.

What? Wait…! This is the head of the Disciplinary Committee’s desk, isn't it? If you break it, won’t they get angry…?!

A short-haired woman appeared from behind the desk and the wooden sword flew with a whooshing sound. 

With her silky silver hair hanging over her ears, she picked up a paper-knife on her desk and easily flicked away the flying wooden sword.

Then she narrowed her amber eyes in amusement as the wooden sword hit the wall with great force.

"Hahahahaha! No way, Not only did you defeat Gerard, but you threw a wooden sword at me…Hahaha! Even though I made a surprise attack to test your abilities, this is one’s good!"

She looks like she's really enjoying herself as she puts her hands on her hips and laughs hysterically… I can't quite grasp the situation.

Leaving me puzzled, the large man called Gerard stood up, putting his hand on his crotch.

"E te te te… it's no laughing matter, Chairman...! It hurts like hell!"

What…? Chairman of the committee? So maybe ──── she's the head of the disciplinary committee, Dina Holly Hayes…?! 

She’s the eldest daughter of Marquis Hayes, the weirdo who is aiming to become a female knight…?! 

I stared at her face, comparing it to the rumors I had heard.

She has a beautiful face with a sharp outline and a mole under her left eye. 

Also, large pierced earrings made of amber swung from her ears. 

If you ask me, she matches the appearance traits I've heard rumors about.

In addition, that dynamic laugh and the way she talks...isn’t like a normal noblewoman. 

She's definitely the head of the Disciplinary Committee, with the skill she used to pop the wooden sword with a paper-knife. 

I thought she was a senior because she was wearing a gold tie clip, but I didn't know she was the chairman because she wasn't wearing a blazer... 

While I was alone with my thoughts, my eyes suddenly met with the beautiful woman with silver hair…

She stopped smiling and took a step toward me, her amber eyes reflecting me.

"I forgot to mention that you're also quite good. I was really surprised when you blocked the ball I threw with a barrier. I'm confident about my arm strength, but I guess I couldn't match your reflexes and magical skills... I salute you from the bottom of my heart."

"Oh, thank you very much…"

I bowed my head a little, thinking, "It was the chairman who threw the ball..."

Dina smiled at me, who couldn't hide my confusion, and turned around. 

She approached the desk she had defended from the wooden sword and picked up the blazer hanging on the chair.

Then, as if proud of her position, she unfolded it with a bang and put her arms through it.

On the left side of her collar is a badge with a sword and shield symbol on it, signifying the head of the Disciplinary Committee.

"Well, let's introduce ourselves first. I'm Dina Holly Hayes, the chairman of the disciplinary committee. Call me chairman or Dina, whatever you want. Then that big guy over there is …"

"──── Gerard! I'm the vice-chairman of the Disciplinary Committee! I'm a commoner, but I hope you'll get along with me!"

The vice-chairman, laughing with a smile on his white teeth, narrowed his lime-colored eyes, which looked like a chrysolite gemstone.

His flame-red hair swayed smoothly, revealing his tanned skin.

Gerard, who seemed to be very active, looked as innocent as a child.

He looks a bit pathetic, though, because he was holding his crotch…

"So, once again──── welcome to you both! Welcome to the Disciplinary Committee, the most popular student body in the world! Let's have a fun year together!"

It doesn't look like fun at all ... Rather, with a few words of ominous foreboding, Dina, the chairman of the discipline, reaches out to us.

"We welcome you both! I'm looking forward to working with you!"

The silver-haired beauty, smiling and shaking her large earrings, greeted us with a smile.
