Chapter 119: The Would-Be Bandits
　As Shin and Rumeya advanced, Aeris cast defensive magic on them from behind as a precaution.
　The attackers panicked when the two charged without attempting to negotiate.
“D-damn it! Get them!”
“R-right!”
　The would-be bandits attacked the pair.
　They were no match for Shin and Rumeya.
　Rumeya sent men flying with his shield, while Shin knocked others down with martial-arts techniques. Seeing his companions fall one after another, the leader seized an opening and slashed at Shin.
“Oh? You’re a little better than the others.”
　Shin caught the incoming sword, sprang upward, twisted in midair, and swept the leader’s legs out from under him with a spinning kick.
　The leader struck his head against the ground and lost consciousness.
　The remaining attackers froze when they saw him defeated.
　They hastily dropped their weapons and surrendered.
“P-please! Don’t kill us!”
　The men began begging for their lives.
“Learn from this and stop pretending to be bandits.”
　Tauro, who had observed the fight from behind, stepped forward.
“Rumors about you’ve already reached the neighboring villages. For now, the locals are overlooking your actions, but if you continue, an official subjugation quest may be issued. Once that happens, your lives will be forfeit. Stop before matters reach that point.”
　Tauro tried to make the entire group understand the seriousness of their situation.
　The men groaned.
　They had probably never imagined their actions could lead to something so severe.
“W-we understand! We don’t want to be wiped out either!”
“The rumor says you’re from a nearby mountain village. Why are you doing this?”
“They even know where we’re from?”
　The men were shocked again. They had apparently believed they were concealing their identities successfully.
“We’re from the mountain village, just as you heard. Our small fields produced a poor harvest this year, and hunting has gone badly as well. We couldn’t make ends meet. Bandi—the man lying over there—suggested this.”
　Shin prodded the unconscious leader, Bandi, until he woke.
“What…? Where am I…?”
　When Bandi noticed Shin’s sword pointed toward him, he immediately began pleading for mercy.
“You were the one who started this, were you not? Before begging for your life, do you not have something else to say?”
　Tauro demanded that he reflect on his actions.
　Despite Tauro’s young age, Bandi was overwhelmed by the pressure he radiated.
　Tauro had secretly activated [Intimidation].
　It was extremely effective against weak or already demoralized opponents.
“I’m sorry! I swear I’ll never do it again!”
　Overcome by the skill, Bandi apologized desperately.
“We’re currently in the middle of a job, so we can’t deal with your village today. We’ll return after completing our work and discuss the matter properly. I’ll lend you enough money to survive for the time being, so don’t do anything like this again.”
　Tauro took a leather purse from his [Magic Storage] and handed it to Bandi.
“Huh?”
　The purse’s weight and the unexpected turn of events left Bandi and the others speechless.
“To be clear, I’m not giving this money to you. It’s a loan. I’m not so softhearted that I would simply reward people who tried to rob us. Use it properly for everyone in the mountain village. I’ll check when we return.”
　Tauro nodded to the coachman, and the carriage began moving again.
　Aeris and the others walked alongside it.
“Ah… um… Thank you!”
　Bandi and the others bowed deeply.
　They continued waving until Tauro’s group disappeared from sight.
“You’re far too softhearted. Money should be lent only to people capable of repaying it.”
　Aeris lectured him with a smile.
“I already told them. We’ll visit the mountain village on our return journey and discuss repayment.”
　Tauro looked at her as though that should have been obvious.
“What? You truly intend to collect it? And here I was admiring your kindness!”
　Aeris was taken aback by his reply.
　Leada, who had listened from inside the carriage, leaned out and joined the conversation.
“I believe Tauro-san intends to offer the village advice that will help secure its future. That’s why he lent them the money rather than simply giving it away.”
　She had read his intentions accurately.
“You’re perceptive. We’ll have to inspect the mountain village before deciding anything, but perhaps we can find something in O’Circus that will help them.”
　Tauro was impressed by Leada’s insight.

In the first journey where he goes to the kingslanding it’s clearly show the bandit attact and somebody and he knows it too he is smart he manage to get into a great collage and read a bunch of manga he should know what’s going to happen the bandit is gonna start attacking somebody else when they leave if he doesn’t want to kill somebody he could have tied them up until they get the guard to get them
This is the problem with japanese manga the character they put is unrealistic the mc is too nice not only giving a bunch of recipe and fixing the guild but not any money but also the merchant whats the point of a employe if you’re just gonna a 11 years old child not even an adult yeah completely logical thinking for a MERCHANT
The author is ruining this novel I know he could do better but my god there is a limit on how much kindness you gotta show because people will use you for it the author can make the mc cold hearted but choose to make him a push over
I love the slice of life aspect but it get’s boring because of repetition the author could do better hope he fixes this in the latter chapter I have high hope for this
