Chapter 113: A Fan Appears
　The investigation team remained at the dungeon ruins and camped outside the cave for the night.
　Sharga stayed inside the dungeon ruins the entire time.
　Tauro wondered what he was doing, but Sharga seemed to be measuring everything—the height of the ceiling, the dimensions of the room, and even the smallest depressions in the floor—while recording every detail in his notebook.
　He was a scholar, so perhaps he had noticed something that only a specialist would understand.
　The next morning, Tauro entered the cave to check on him.
　Sharga was still examining the ruins. He might not have slept at all, yet he continued writing in his open notebook.
　Sharga’s [Illumination] was about to expire, so Tauro cast another one in its place.
　When Sharga turned toward the new light, he finally noticed Tauro as well.
“Oh, Tauro-san. What brings you here?”
“Huh? Where are the knights who were guarding you?”
“They confirmed that the interior was safe, so they all went outside.”
“I see. By the way, it’s already morning.”
“Morning already? No wonder Joshna fell asleep a while ago.”
　Apparently, Joshna was nocturnal and naturally became sleepy around dawn.
　Even inside the dungeon ruins, where she couldn’t see what was happening outside, her internal clock remained remarkably accurate.
“Sharga-san, would you like to take a break?”
“Yes… I think I will.”
　Sharga sighed and sat down.
“Have something sweet. It should help refresh your mind.”
　Tauro took a sweet bun from his [Magic Storage] and handed it to Sharga.
“You probably haven’t had one of these before.”
　Sharga examined the bun curiously. After seeing Tauro take a bite from his own, he tried it as well.
“Delicious! The sweetness seems to seep into my exhausted body…”
　Sharga exclaimed in delight, then slowly savored the rest of the bun.
“I’m glad you like it. Here’s another one.”
　Tauro took a cookie from his [Magic Storage] and handed it to Sharga.
　Sharga accepted it too, but this time he finished it in no time.
“I’ve never paid much attention to food, but these are delicious.”
“Your brain craves sugar after intense mental work. Paying a little more attention to what you eat might help you work more efficiently.”
　Tauro explained.
“I see! That never occurred to me. You really are clever. I should pay more attention to what I eat from now on.”
　Sharga nodded in amazement, as though the scales had fallen from his eyes.
“It appears this dungeon was in the process of creating a second floor.”
　Sharga said after regaining his composure.
“Really?”
　Tauro was surprised.
“The floor at the far left had begun to sink, leaving a narrow cavity between it and the stone wall beneath. Dungeons have long been believed to grow, but obtaining physical evidence of it’s a major discovery. Even the centuries-old dungeons managed by the kingdom have never been explored to their deepest levels, so no one has ever been able to verify it!”
　Sharga explained excitedly.
“By the way, Tauro-san, have you ever heard of a game called Reversi?”
　Sharga abruptly changed the subject.
“I’ve heard of it. It’s very popular in the capital, isn’t it?”
　Tauro answered cautiously.
“It’s the talk of the nobility, and I’ve become completely obsessed with it. One name I often hear is Tauro Satou, the young prodigy everyone in noble circles is talking about… Could that be you, Tauro-san?”
　Sharga asked him point-blank.
“…Why do you think so?”
“The descriptions of his appearance and age match you. He’s said to be a clever adventurer, and his name is Tauro. When all those details lined up, I thought you might be him.”
　As expected of a scholar, Sharga had keen powers of observation.
　Tauro hadn’t expected him to remember the stories about Reversi and connect them to the appearance and name of an otherwise ordinary child.
　He could have tried to bluff his way out of it, but denying the claim while leaving Sharga suspicious might only give rise to unwanted rumors.
　Tauro decided to admit the truth.
“You’re right. I’m impressed; I didn’t expect you to figure it out.”
“Oh! I knew it! I’m a fan of yours, Tauro-san—no, Tauro-dono! Those legendary three matches against the Prime Minister sent shivers down my spine every time I heard about them! Of course, I won’t tell anyone. This is a secret, right?”
　It was an unexpected encounter with one of Tauro’s fans.
