Chapter 308: Black-Gold Wings Heads to the Dungeon
Tauro and the other members of Black-Gold Wings entered the dungeon together with Tsugumu’s escort team.
The route through the Slime Layer to the familiar first-floor rest room was nothing unusual to Tauro, Aeris, or Ragune. For Ankh, however, this was his first time inside a dungeon.
“Whoa… Ha!”
Ankh looked around with open wonder as they advanced.
“You’re the first person I’ve ever seen become so excited over a first floor inhabited only by slimes,” Ragune said with a laugh.
“That’s easy for a dragonfolk to say. Most dungeons are controlled by kingdoms and closed to ordinary outsiders. Of course I’m impressed.” Ankh glanced toward Aeris. “You seem remarkably calm. Have you also grown accustomed to this?”
“I’ve entered Babylon near the Royal Capital, and I’ve accompanied Tauro inside a dungeon before. This isn’t my first experience.”
“That explains it. I wondered why you were being unusually quiet.”
Ankh laughed at his own observation.
They soon reached the rest room. Tauro had everyone join hands in a circle.
“Here we go.”
He activated [Spatial Transfer], moving the entire group to the Floor 110 rest room where Salaman and Salaan’s party were supposed to be waiting.
Floor 110—
“No one is here.”
Tauro stared around the empty rest room.
“Are you certain this is the meeting point?” Aeris asked.
“Yes. I brought Salaman here before returning to the Royal Capital.”
“In situations like this, check near the entrance,” Tsugumu advised.
A sheet of paper had been attached to the wall beside the exit. Tauro hurried over and read it.
‘I couldn’t continue waiting for Salaan’s party, so I’ve gone to the next floor. —Salaman’
Salaman had apparently become worried by his daughter’s delay and gone after her alone.
“Then we’ll continue to Floor 111.”
Tauro transported everyone to the next rest room.
Floor 111—
“They aren’t here either,” Ragune said after looking around.
Two notes had been left beside the entrance.

“We keep going,” Tauro said.
The group transferred to Floor 112.

Another note from Salaan’s party awaited them.

Beside it was Salaman’s reply.
‘They’ve gone deeper again. I’ll continue following them. —Salaman’
“Salaman seems completely at the mercy of his daughter,” Tauro said with a strained laugh.
“Perhaps, but both Salaan’s party and Salaman are now a concern,” Tsugumu replied. “We should proceed immediately.”
“You’re right. Next is Floor 113.”
Tauro used [Spatial Transfer] again.
Floor 113—
By now, everyone knew to inspect the wall near the entrance first.
‘We reached Floor 113 for the first time! We’re going farther down! —Salaan’s party’
Before anyone could comment, movement appeared on the staircase leading up from Floor 114.
“One person… No, two!” called an escort with strong scouting abilities. “Two people are being pursued by a monster!”
“Tauro, remain inside the rest room,” Tsugumu ordered. “We’ll rescue them.”
Tsugumu’s team rushed through the entrance.
“Tauro, we can still support them,” Ragune urged.
“While the escorts engage the monster, we can retrieve the two people who are fleeing,” Ankh added.
Tauro hesitated. Tsugumu would unquestionably scold him afterward.
“We’ll provide support only. Let’s go.”
Tauro, Aeris, Ragune, and Ankh hurried after the escort team.
