Chapter 20- Training: Alchemy (3)

“I guess it was like that…”

“Ugh, Itsuki. How can you be so calm about it?”

“It was dark. I couldn’t see much.”

Monday after school.

Nina-chan and I stayed in the classroom practicing “Alchemy Elements” and we talked about what I did during the vacation.

So when I told the story of my trip to the middle school at night to exorcise the monster, she begged for more and more details and I eventually told her that people were turned into boxes and she was taken aback.

However, I understand what Nina-chan is saying.

If I were in the opposite situation, I would have reacted the same way.

But having actually seen the scene, I didn’t think it was very realistic. It has been six years since I came to this world, but I have spent more time in my previous life than in this one.

Maybe that’s why.

I wasn’t yet mature enough to be shocked at the sight of a person being turned into a box.

Well, let’s put aside this bleak story of an exorcist,

“What were you doing, Nina-chan?”

“I went shopping with mama.”

“Huh? I thought your mom was at work?”

I thought I heard something like that last week.

“Yes. But, you know, she said she finished work early. she said that another exorcist had exorcised her monster in her place.”

“I didn’t know that was possible. Where did you go shopping?”

“Ginza! I’ve never been there before!”

……You went shopping in Ginza? At your age?

Despite my inward surprise, Nina-chan laughed and continued happily.

“We went shopping for clothes. I was surprised to see so many people in Tokyo.

I see.

I see??

You went to Ginza to buy clothes.

I see?

After thinking that much, I shook my head as hard as I could in my mind.

No, no, no.

I think about money very quickly.

“I found some cute clothes. My mom bought them.”

Still, I think Nina-chan is cute when she talks about going shopping with her mother. She has many thoughts about her mother, but she is probably happy to have been able to go out with her. She was more excited than usual.

I was smiling as I listened to Nina-chan’s story, when she put her hand on my stomach with a tap.

“I don’t care what we’re talking about right now…. Let’s practice magic instead of talking about me.”

“You’re right.”

“Itsuki. Tighten your stomach.”

I quietly exhaled to regain the sensation of magic refining that had been dulled by the weekend.

I disengage Kaijutsu and creates an irregularity in the magic power.

Then, separate the light magic power from the heavy magic power.

I felt the light magic power filling my whole body.

“Let it out.”

“……Yes.”

I nodded and moved the magic power.

The magic power that I move is assimilated with the light magic power in my body.

And what was created was ordinary magic that got mixed up.

What a mess.

“How’s it going?”

“Uh-uh. I can’t do it…”

I shook my head quietly, and Nina-chan continued as if she was troubled.

“Itsuki, you’re seventh rank king, right?”

“Yes. I am.”

Since “The Sixth rank” was the Queen, I was wondering if “The Seventh rank” was the King, and sure enough, it was. I mean, what is the origin of that name? Is it chess?

As I was thinking about this, Nina-chan said something that I couldn’t help but notice.

“I wonder if it’s possible to do ‘alchemy elements’ if you have a lot of magic power.”

“Ugh!!!”

I couldn’t help but let out a cry.

No, it can’t be helped.

“You said one can’t do it if they have a lot of magic power …… Is such a thing possible?”

“I don’t know. Even in my country, the seventh rank king is only a historical figure. I haven’t actually seen one.”

When Nina-chan said that, I had no choice but to say “I see”

The “Seventh Rank” has a lot of magic power and that’s convenient.

It’s not like I can say unconditionally.

The lack of precedent means that no matter what happens, you have to find your own way to deal with it. But, as the saying goes, “Alchemy” is “art. In other words, it is a technique.

If you pay attention to the accuracy of the technique, anyone can do it to some extent, right?

Whether it is the “first rank” or the “seventh rank,” I don’t think it matters. ……

Although I’m more puzzled, however, the fact is that I’m not good at alchemy.

I have to try another method…..Nina-chan raised her hand while I was thinking.

“Itsuki. Let’s take a break.”

“Take a break? But we just started practicing a little while ago.”

“It’s okay, take a break!”

Nina-chan said that, and started to walk out of the classroom, leaving me in a daze, so I stopped her.

“Oh wait! Where are you going?”

“To the bathroom!”

I’m sorry about that.

I don’t know why I’m like this.

I was feeling a little naïve and disgusted with my own lack of perception, and since there was nothing to do, I looked out from the classroom to the schoolyard.

It must have been gym time for the upperclassmen.

The boys were playing soccer.

I had nothing to do until Nina-chan came back.

So I decided to pass the time and watch the scene idly.

However, the place was far away, so I used “enhanced vision” for both eyes.

It was as if I had put on binoculars, and at once the game became easier to watch.

One of the better players took the ball and dribbled.

He ran up at once and was tackled by a kid who came running from next to him, got tangled up and fell down.

Wow, that looks painful.

As I was furrowing my brows, the teacher blew the whistle and the game was stopped.

The teacher and other children gathered around the child who had fallen and looked worriedly at him.

It was a normal scene that could be seen at any elementary school.

When a nearby child helped the sprained child to get up, he found that the child’s leg was scraped and bleeding thinly. Well, he fell. That’s what happens.

The teacher said something to the child who was observing the event, and the child who had fallen and the child who was observing the event came together from the playground toward the school building.

They must be going to the infirmary.

“I’m back, Itsuki. What are you looking at…..?”

“Soccer.”

“Soccer?”

I said, and Nina-chan lined up next to me and looked at the schoolyard in the same way.

The whistle blew again and the game resumed.

The timing was right, so I decided to go back to training, too, and took my gaze away from the schoolyard.

“It’s okay to look away, but we’re going to practice properly.”

“Yeah. I know, it’s okay.”

I nodded and turned to face forward.

“Hey, Nina-chan.”

“What?”

“I’d like to try something.”

“……?”

I had one inspiration from what I had just seen.

This is because when I saw the injury earlier, I found myself subconsciously thinking in my head, “How can I use healing magic to heal that injury?”

The blood is seeping out, which means the blood vessels and skin are damaged.

In order to ‘transform’ and cover it, the first step is to clean the wound…. And when I thought that far, I came up with an idea.

Blood vessels.

“I’ll give that a try.”

I pass the “guiding thread silvate” through my body with the light magic power around my stomach and make it the path of magic power with the “trait transformation”

In other words, I make a blood pipe of magic power.

Then, the heavy magic power in the stomach is brought out into the palm of the hand.

“How’s that ……?”

I fearfully ask Nina-chan, who is holding my hand, that.

She is checking me to see if the magic is really out there.

When she let go of my hand, her face lit up.

“Perfect! This is a perfect alchemy elements!”

I let out a breath of relief when Nina-chan said that.

But at the same time, I was a little worried.

It’s too late to go outside.

If it’s like this, I won’t be able to use it in a real fight.

I need to practice to get faster.

I was conscious of both Kaijutsu and Shijutsu at first, but now I can do them unconsciously. I need to get down to that level.

While I was thinking about this, a chime rang to signal the end of the sixth period.

Is it that late already?

I can still practice, but even if I learn new magic from now, Nina-chan’s curfew will be up in less than half an hour. It’s not a good time.

But now that I’ve learned alchemy, it’s time to learn a little bit more about the “kokujutsu” (the art of condensation).

But I was thinking that I should always go to Nina-chan’s house, too.

That’s it!

I had a good idea!

“Hey, Nina-chan!”

“What’s wrong?”

Nina-chan tilted her head at my sudden call.

I asked her to come over to my place.

“Since we’re here, why don’t you come over to my place today?”
