Chapter 12- The Magician (Child)

“Me? Teach magic to you?”

“Yes! I want to know what kind of magic you’re using!”

I said, curious, but Nina-chan took a step back.

Why?

"Ummm..... You know, Itsuki-kun. I'm in the middle of my training for the "Recollecting Coagulation Technique" "

Nina-chan shook her head as she used a word I had never heard before.

“No!Why should I teach magic to my rival?”

“Eh, but you said earlier that you're in training...."

“No, not now!”

At that moment, music began to play, signaling the end of the cleaning.

Apparently, this is as far as the time goes.

I wanted to hear a little more, but…

I frowned.

While you can skip the cleaning, you can't skip the return party.

That one doesn't start in the first place unless everyone is there.

I had no choice but to continue the conversation without digging deeper.

"So, the recollecting coagulation technique, tell me about it!”

“I can't.”

“Why not?”

“You can't do coagulation recollect unless you've studied the art of alchemy elements!”

I don't know any of these words...!

But from the way Nina-chan speaks, it sounds like it's true this time.

What should I do?

Then I wonder if I can’t use spirit magic.

As I was thinking about this, Nina-chan was about to return to the classroom by herself, so I hurriedly followed behind her.

But still, "Spirit technique" and "Alchemy"?

Are they like "Kaijutsu" and "Shijutsu" over here?

If so, Nina-chan's phrase "in training" is a nod to the fact that she’s an exorcist.

Even Japanese exorcists start training in Kaijutsu at the age of three and in Shijutsu at the age of five.

It’s not until the age of seven that they are taught proper magic.

Nina and I have only been in elementary school for one month.

If her birthday was in April, she would be 7 years old already, but I’m sure her birthday will be much later. So she’s only 6 years old. If she were in Japan, she would still be training in shijutsu. It is also understandable that she’s in training for "Fierce technique”.

I wonder what country Nina-chan is a magician from.

I wondered as I followed behind her.

When I returned to the classroom, the teacher praised me for bringing Nina-chan back with me, and the group members gave me a bit of a scolding for skipping cleaning. It was a perfect plus-minus-zero.

However, Nina-chan wasn’t told anything even though she was a member of the same group, which made me feel a little hurt, as if she was ignored by everyone. Nina-chan, on the other hand, was sitting in her seat with a high-flying look on her face.

There were no special events today, no announcements from the teachers, and the return meeting was over in a flash.

Yay! I can go home early today.

But still, as someone who went on to college in a previous life, I think that after re-entering elementary school, the teachers are very kind.

If I forget to do my homework, they wait until the next day, and my grades don't drop drastically because of it. In college, depending on the professor, if you miss the due date, they usually don't accept your report. And sometimes, they will give you an "F" for it. Well, the person who turned in the report late was 100 percent at fault.

As my classmates were leaving, I decided to go home and put my school bag on my back.

Today, too, I'm going home from school alone.

No, I'm not going home alone because I don't have any friends.

It's just that the apartment I live in is far from the school and I don't have any friends to go home with me. It's not that I don't have any friends.

As I was thinking about this, I was pulled backwards by my school bag and almost fell over.

“What?"

I quickly turned around and saw Nina-chan pulling my school bag.

What's wrong?

“Itsuki-kun, don't ignore me.”

“I'm not ignoring you?"

What's wrong with her all of a sudden?

I was tilting my head in my mind, and Nina-chan continued as if she was having a hard time saying it.

“I was wondering why you always say 'bye-bye,' but today you didn't."

Huh? I don't remember if I usually say it.

When Nina-chan pointed it out, I suddenly thought.

I think I did.

No, I'm not just saying it to Nina. I say 'bye-bye' to all the kids in my class that I can talk to before I leave. Greetings are important.

"I'm sorry, Nina-chan. See you tomorrow.”

But the fact that she said that I ignored her means that she was hurt. I said goodbye to Nina-chan and was about to leave when she tugged on my school bag one more time.

“Wait a minute!”

“What's wrong...?"

I asked her, not thinking that I had been pulled on my school bag twice in one day.

She continued as if to say that this was her true love.

“Oh you see, I need to talk to you, Itsuki. But right now, there are too many people..."

“Is it the kind of thing you say do when there are people around?"

I asked that, and Nina-chan nodded her head.

Then it has something to do with magic.

“Then do you want to change locations? Where do you want to go?”

“I'm fine here. Everyone will be gone in a little while.”

What does that mean?

I tilted my head, but in less than 10 minutes I understood what she meant.

The elementary school kids are quick-tempered, so within 10 minutes of the end of the returning party, Nina-chan and I were the only two people left alone in the classroom. The teacher said, "Go home early," and went back to the teacher's office, so it was really just the two of us.

“You see?”

“Wow, you know a lot, don't you, Nina-chan?”

“I don't know anything, I just know because I always stay here until this time.”

I was always in the go-home club, so I was the first to go home after the returning party or HR homeroom, but I didn't know about this.

“So, what do you want to talk about? Nina-chan."

“...... You know, I've been thinking about it for a while."

Nina-chan said, looking a little embarrassed.

“I've decided to teach you 'Alchemy Elements'!"

“Eh? That’s it?”

I was so surprised that my voice got louder, but it was drowned out by the sound of schoolchildren running around the schoolyard.

“But I won't teach it for free. In exchange for me teaching you, you have to do me one favor.”

"Okay fine.”

I agreed with two words.

Nina-chan rolled her eyes at that answer.

“Eh? Are you okay? I haven't even told you what I'm asking you to do.”

"Yes, it's okay, Anything I can do, you can ask. I don't have any money, so I can't give you an allowance.”

“No, I don't want it! That's not what I'm asking!”

Nina-chan turned away, but immediately turned her head back to me.

“If you say so, then the contract is sealed! I'm going to teach you the alchemical elements, and you’re going to do one thing for me. Perfect!"

Nina-chan said, her blue eyes narrowed and her chest puffed out.

“Then I'll teach you 'alchemy elemens' right away!”

But still, I think to myself in the classroom where we are now alone after school..

I don't think she's a bad girl for listening to my request instead of "listen to your own request first'', Nina-chan.

  1. Dude, what? Who the hell agrees to do ‘Anything’? Always clearly define the terms of the contract before agreeing to them! This MC is thinking too much like a kid when he’s supposedly got the mind of an adult. Ugh…
