Interlude: Holy Princess Fiona, in front of the Imperial Castle

Fiona looked at the carriage in the distance as it started to drive away, a faint smile on her mouth.

Now, how would we get back inside the castle?

We had not expected the gates to be restored to their original state after being destroyed. Of course, they were closed now. Even if I raised my voice, I wondered if the soldiers in the midst of the chaos would hear me. ----

“Fiona.”

As I was thinking in a daze, I heard a low voice that seemed to echo from the depths of the earth, coming from nowhere.

“It’s dangerous, stay in this place. I will take you back to castle.” (TN: It was hard to translate but she basically speaks in broken japanese)

It was a voice that Fiona had grown accustomed to since she was a child, even though it sounded frightening.

The first in the order and the first holy knight.

The only thing that worried her was that she was so anxious.

Fiona closes her eyes and replies to the voice in a rather annoyed manner.

“I’d like to stay here and enjoy the night breeze a little longer. If the bandits show up, please do me a favor.”

“..... If you stay, too long, catch a cold.”

Fiona looked up at the night sky.

It was a clear and pleasant spring night.

She and Seika had once looked at the night sky like this.

Of course, this was not an actual memory.

It was one of the possible futures I had seen as a child.

It was a fleeting future that was changed not by the flow of a great destiny, but by the flap of a butterfly’s wings.

Fiona says with a sigh.

Fiona answers the Holy Knight’s question shortly.

“......, yes, that’s right.”

“I see. Seika-sama seems to be an exceptionally strong person.”

“... for some reason, you, seem happy.”

In the future I once saw, I had met him when he was much younger than he is now.

Even then, Seika was as strong as ever.

I never once saw a scene where he was learning or training for something special.

“Don’t understand...... Is he ready to protect the hero? Because, attacking castle of this country is a problem. The demon king will help the hero, nonsense.”

“Wait, say it not ......!　I know.”

“....?..”

“...Huh? What are you talking about?”

Fiona said in a cold tone.

A little bit of bad mood mixed in, but that’s because of the cold weather.

The fleeting days of the future that were burned into my eyes with a faint longing in my childhood.

“Ufufu. Seika-sama――――”

Fiona smiles proudly.

That person was always kind and strong.

Because he was kind and strong, he always suffered in the end.

His kindness compels him to wield his power.

Even though he knows doom awaits him.

That’s why she decided to live strong

In order to aim for the best future for both Seika and the empire, which had never been seen before.
