Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 43- Incident

After that, while the first graders from other classes were getting screwed over by the seniors, I won the quarter finals and semi finals and ──── finally grabbed a ticket to the finals.

As if to prove the rumors false, I’m making as much of a show as possible and I’m getting a lot of attention from the students. Some of them even made bets on my ranking.

If my sister wins the semi-final match currently being held in the Eto World Dome,, “The final match is a showdown between sisters! “it’ll be even more exciting.

I’m hoping for that too. ……

“──── Even so, it was a close call. Emilia-sama almost made it to the finals.”

When I looked up at the man standing next to me, I met his lapis lazuli eyes.

His Highness Grayson, who went to cheer on Emilia-sama’s semifinal match with me, nodded, saying, ‘Yes.

He was like my guide as he walked leisurely to the Eto World Dome.

Apparently, His Highness Grayson still thinks I’m ill-mannered.

It was a disgraceful perception, but I couldn’t say anything because of my record.

“At any rate, you’re now the only competitor left in Class C. I lost my quarter final match and Emilia-san didn’t make it to the finals.”

I smiled at His Highness Grayson, who was either deliberately or unconsciously putting pressure on me in a sober way.

“That’s right, but I think the defeat of you two was unavoidable, because the other party was Isaac-sama and Crown Prince Leonardo who won the championship last year … “

I scratched my cheeks and looked at His Highness Grayson’s face, but he had no expression on his face, so I don’t know what he was thinking.

When I cringed, unsure if he was even angry, he narrowed his eyes slightly.

“I guess so. It’s true that my opponent was a bad match for me. But the fact is that I lost to His Royal Highness Prince Leonardo in a sword fight. This is the first time in a long time that I’ve felt this frustrated, to be honest.”

Although he was frustrated, his expression was clear and unruffled.

There was no jealousy or envy in His Highness Grayson’s voice as he blurted out, “I still have a lot of training to do.”

He was not ashamed of his defeat, but simply looked straight ahead. His profile was as quiet and beautiful as the night sky.

“I’ve been wondering… where’s the cloak?”

His Highness slowed his pace a little and looked behind me, puzzled by the absence of the blue cloak.

“You didn’t lose it, did you?”  I let out a chuckle at his questioning gaze.

“I just left the cloak in the waiting room. I didn’t want it to get dirty.”

“I see. You can’t go into the finals with a dirty cloak, that’s for sure. It’s not a good look.”

His Highness nodded in agreement, took a glance at my empty back and resumed his pacing.

Walking diagonally in front of me, he stepped into the back entrance of the Eto World Dome.

He’s a member of the Public Morals Committee, so he walks forward without being stopped by the management staff.

As I followed behind him, I tilted my head at the sound of people talking, which became louder the closer we got to the waiting room.

I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but from the tone of their voices, I was sure they were arguing. Now that we’ve made it to the semifinals, though, there are only a limited number of people who can use the waiting room.

As I turned the corner of the corridor leading to the waiting room, I saw a familiar figure.

The man confronting what appeared to be the management staff was shouting incessantly.

“I told you I was just lost! How many times do I have to tell you!”

“Even if you’re just lost, you’ll still be questioned. We need to be sure of the facts.”

“I’m in a hurry! You can do that later!”

“I can’t do that. As I’ve said many times before, this is a rule. How can you mistake the back entrance for the front entrance?”

They argued in front of my waiting room.

I’d like to think it’s just a coincidence, but as long as the other person is ──── Daniel Evan Collins, it won’t be.

This is something that I, as a user of the waiting room and a member of the public morals committee, have to ask about.

It’s not a good time to be in trouble before the finals.

As I held my forehead at the sudden turn of events, I secretly made eye contact with His Highness Grayson.

When I urged him to go, he nodded curiously and walked over to Daniel-sama.

“What’s all the ruckus?”

A flat voice echoed in the corridor filled with shouting.

The volume of his voice was not that loud, but strangely enough, his voice came through.

In less than a second, the place was quiet and the two of them looked at each other fearfully.

Then, as soon as he saw His Highness Grayson, the Public Morals Officer, and me, he looked away.

“Geez, I wonder what His Highness Grayson is doing here. ……”

“I’m just here to drop off Charlotte-san on my rounds. So why are you here?”

When his highness looked at him quizzically, Daniel stammered, “Well, that’s …….”

I’m certain he knows that if he lies here, it will affect him later.

Even though he is from another country, His Highness Grayson is a prince of a country.

So you can’t be strong with people who are superior to you. If I had been the only one here, I might have just been brushed off. It’s a good thing I asked his Highness to follow me.

As I was admiring the fact that my dishonorable perception of lack of direction is sometimes useful, a staff member stepped forward.

“Excuse me for coming from the side. I am a member of the management staff of the magic department. I witnessed this person leaving Charlotte-san’s waiting room and asked him about it. He didn’t look like he belonged on the player list and he seemed suspicious.”

“Thank you for your report.”

“No, sir, don’t mention.”

His Highness Grayson nodded to the staff, who bowed and stepped back.

I had a bad feeling about this and was suspicious of the strangely restless Daniel-sama.

His Royal Highness Grayson walks up to my anteroom as he cringes like a child who has been caught playing a prank.

“Wait, please, ……! Even if you are His Highness Grayson, you can’t go into a woman’s waiting room without permission. ……!”

“What are you talking about? Aren’t you the guy who’s already entered in here without permission?”

Daniel, who was in a hurry to stop him, was hit with a good argument by His Highness Grayson and choked on his words, “Uh ……!”

As expected, he couldn’t say, “It’s okay for me, but not for His Highness,” and turned his clinging eyes to me.

Well, of course I’m not going to respond to his SOS. ……

“It’s not a problem for His Highness, Prince Grayson. Please check inside.”

There’s nothing incriminating about being seen, so I encourage him to come in.

If you’re on the side of his highness, you’ll see that Daniel has gone pale.

Leaving his eyes darting left and right, His Highness Grayson put his hand on the doorknob.

“Then, let’s check the inside of the room immediately.”
