Chapter 6: Entertainment

"Now, now Grace-sama, drink up! Today's drinks are Edward's treat. So, let’s drink to our prosperous future!”

"Yes, thank you"

“Oh, you’re a good drinker! I'm Sarah, let’s have fun today.”

After the party, Edward took me to a restaurant to have a drink. Apparently, he was going to entertain me. In addition to Edward, there are the two other merchants who were introduced to me at the party. For some reason, I had been told not to tell anyone else about the store, but now I knew why.

As soon as I emptied my glass, the drinks were poured. I bobbed my head nervously and thanked the woman who poured it for me. I'm acting strangely, but please forgive me.

Because this girl is so revealing!

A one-piece dress with lace emphasizing her cleavage and her bare legs almost visible through the skirt part! In addition, she speaks to me in a sweet voice, so I naturally get excited.

I mean, she pressed her breasts against my chest when she poured me a drink. This is too much stimulation for a virgin like me!

I looked at the merchants who were happily drinking with the women as I replied to Edward. I'm sure they have a lot on their mind. I wish I could make as much noise as they do, but the image of Vigna dancing with me earlier keeps me from enjoying myself.

She's just a childhood friend and subordinate. 

“Is our dear customer not used to this kind of place? If so, why don't we just have a normal conversation? I'll listen to your complaint or whatever you want. Please eat this for a change. I made it myself."

"Oh, yeah, thank you. It's really good!”

I ate the food that was offered to me. It's different from what Galatea and Noel make, but it tastes homey and delicious. It tastes just like the food at the diner that Bowman used to treat me to when I was in the castle and he would take me shopping.

“fufu! Thank you. I'm confident in my cooking. So what's troubling you?”

"This is a story about a friend of mine."

She said this to me, probably because I didn't seem to be enjoying myself. I regretted making her feel a little uncomfortable, but I told her what I had just felt.

Maybe it was the alcohol or maybe she was just a good listener, but I couldn't help but talk about Vigna.

"It's love! You're in love with that girl and from what you've told me, I don't think she hates you either.”

“No, but we've known each other since we were kids, and she's violent. But she's always nice to me when I'm weak. And she always says kind words to me when I’m down.”

When I awoke to the “World Library” which my dad said was a broken skill, she told me I could master this skill, so I was able to do my best. I'm not going to let her see that I'm uncool.

"Well, imagine this. How would you feel if that girl was walking with another guy?"

“Well… that would actually feel bad…"

Is Vigna dating another man? Just imagining it makes me feel uncomfortable. It’s no wonder, she’s always been with me. I couldn’t imagine her going to another person. 

Does that mean I really like her? I'd like to meet her right now and find out.

“Thank you for that. It helped me a lot. I'm going to give this some serious thought."

“Oh… wasn’t it a friend’s story?”

“ You know…..Anyway, as a way of thanking you, is there anything that's troubling you, Sarah? I've been working on some inventions in my territory that may be able to help you, no, it might even be a hint for your business.”

"Inventions? Are you really Grace Vermillion, Souzi’s successor? Edward who rarely praised others praised you. I felt you’d be more mature. I’m sorry for being rude, I had no idea you were royalty."

“I'm sorry for asking you questions like an adolescent brat. You can keep your tone of voice as it was before. I'm not here as royalty and I really appreciate it. If you need anything, just let me know."

I hurriedly tell Sarah that it's okay not to change her tone. To be honest, it's easier to talk to her like that than with honorifics. In addition to that, it's refreshing to be able to get advice from an older woman like her. It's hard to talk to Bowman about these things.

“I don’t really know if this is a good time to ask, but I was wondering if you could make some cheap birth control pills? It's not so common in my store, but in this kind of business, some girls get into such relationships with customers, and that can lead to unwanted pregnancies. I hear that it happened to some of the kids at my friend’s place and they’re at a loss. It’s possible to use drugs but they’re quite expensive.”

“I see…I've also heard of using magic in such cases, but unless you're a nobleman, you can't use magic that often, and medicine is expensive.”

I don't know about her store, but I'm sure other stores would have more intense skin-to-skin contact or even drink alcohol together for that purpose originally.

However, medicine isn’t my specialty. Couldn't there be some other method of birth control? It was the moment I thought so.

I asked the World Library and got an immediate response. I see. So that's one way to use rubber. 

“I'm sure we can work something out on that.”

“Really! I’m saved. As expected of Grace Vermillion. I'm counting on you."

Sarah smiled at my words. Then, I told her that I was a little drunk and would like to take a little while to clear my thoughts and head out.

It seems that rubber is used in the other world, can we make it somehow?

“Eh?”

"Vigna? Why are you here?"

When I opened the door, Vigna was there for some reason. Obviously, instead of the dress I mentioned earlier, she had light clothing for combat and even had weapons.

What's with this girl, she's scary.

“Hey, why are you in such a place?”

She looked away from me and said in a whisper as if she was being punished. Oh, did she come all the way here because she was worried about me? When I thought about it, Sarah’s words resurfaced and I felt my heart get warm.

“Why don’t we both drink together if you like. We haven’t really talked together in a long time.”

“I don't mind, but… I thought you were enjoying yourself.”

“No, I'm in the mood to talk to you. You don't like it?”

“Hmm… It can’t be helped. I'll keep you company.”

She smiled widely when she said that. I could feel my heart fluttering just looking at it. I told Sarah and Edward that I’ve been picked up and went back to the inn with Vigna. I hope that Sarah is explaining things properly, she seemed to have a weird misunderstanding and got excited.

“I don’t know if it's because I've been outside all day, but my hands are cold.”

"Huh, it's summer though."

“I know that. I'm telling you to hold my hand!”

And I was very happy to spend a relaxing time with Vigna after a long while.
