Chapter 219: And Then, to the Bath
Rest headed to the bath ahead of the others.
In the changing room, he removed his clothes and, towel in hand, opened the door to the bathroom. A billow of white steam immediately enveloped him.
It seemed the bath had been prepared not long ago. The staff had likely anticipated their arrival, thanks to Viola and Primula informing them beforehand.
“A bath… It’s been a while.”
Rest murmured to himself.
The frontier village had baths, but they were simple, makeshift ones created with magic. Stretching out and soaking in a proper bath was a luxury he hadn’t enjoyed in a long time.
“For now… I’ll wash up first.”
Rest sat on a bath chair, wetting a towel and lathering it with soap.
Soap existed in this world, but it was a luxury only the wealthy could afford.
(This soap… It smells like flowers and is really high quality. I never thought about it before, but could this be influenced by a reincarnator’s knowledge?)
Recently, Rest had met a man named Leonardo Gascoigne, who had called him a reincarnator and hinted that others like him might exist in this world.
The more Rest thought about it, the less strange the idea seemed. There were card games like poker and chess in this world, along with high-quality soap like this. Traces of Earth’s influence seemed scattered throughout.
“We’re here, Rest.”
A familiar voice called out.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Added another.
The bathroom door opened, and Viola and Primula entered.
The two were dressed in bathrobes, which, though technically modest, clung to their figures, making them look almost as if they were naked.
“Ugh…”
The outfits didn’t expose much skin, yet their body lines were on full display.
(Have… have they gotten even more… curvy?)
Rest was stunned. Both sisters had always been well-proportioned for their age, but now their figures, particularly their chests, seemed to have developed even further.
(Well, they are sixteen… Still in their growth phase, after all.)
“Oh, you were washing up.”
Viola remarked.
“Should we help you?”
Primula asked cheerfully.
“No… I just finished, so I’m fine.”
Rest quickly replied.
He hastily rinsed himself off and made his way to the bath.
“What a shame. I was hoping to help you wash again.”
Viola said with a sly smile.
“I feel the same. I rather enjoy washing your back, Rest-sama.”
Primula added.
“Please, spare me… Don’t tease me so much.”
Rest muttered, flustered.
Though it felt like they had always been this close, noble society strictly forbade premarital relations.
Even though Rest and the Rosemary sisters often shared a bed or bath, they had never crossed that line.
(Don’t underestimate a teenage boy’s self-control… I can’t guarantee I’ll hold back forever.)
“Well, once we’re married, you won’t need to hold back.”
Viola teased.
“True, but we’ll have to wait until we graduate. Not that we’re attending classes much anymore.”
Primula mused.
Though the three were technically students at the Royal Academy, their duties—whether fighting in civil wars or assisting in frontier development—meant they rarely attended.
“Once we graduate, we’ll hold the wedding right away.”
Viola said decisively.
“I can’t wait! Should I start arranging my dress now?”
Primula asked excitedly.
“You’re too eager, Primula. What if your size changes before the ceremony?”
Viola teased.
“Oh, you’re right. I wouldn’t want to outgrow it.”
Primula replied with a thoughtful nod.
As the two chatted, they removed their bathrobes and began washing their hair and bodies.
Their youthful, shapely figures glistened with soap as they moved.
Marriage after graduation.
The reality of his future role as a husband began to sink in for Rest.
(Well, it’s only natural since we’re engaged… It’s an honor, really. I don’t have a single complaint.)
Soaking in the bath, Rest watched the sisters from behind as they washed up, their cheerful voices filling the room.
(When I think about it… Having such beautiful girls as my future wives feels like a dream.)
It had been nearly three years since he first met Viola and Primula at the age of fourteen.
In that time, they had only grown more stunning and elegant, their figures becoming even more striking.
(Surely, they’ll only continue to grow more beautiful from here on out… And I get to watch them up close. I really ought to thank the gods.)
“Well… I’ve finished washing up…”
“Putting the bathrobe back on feels like too much trouble.”
“Let’s just get in like this.”
“I agree, Sister.”
“W-whoa!”
The two sisters removed their bathrobes, stepping into the bath completely bare and joining Rest in the tub.
“The water feels wonderful, doesn’t it, Rest?”
Viola said casually.
“Excuse me, Rest-sama, I’ll sit beside you.”
Primula added with a smile.
“Uh… er…”
Rest stammered, trying to maintain his composure.
(Can I really hold out until marriage? Two years and some change… Can I endure it?)
Suppressing the intense temptation that surged within him, Rest silently gave thanks to the gods for the overwhelmingly blissful, if challenging, situation he found himself in.
