Chapter 380: Cooperation and Cultivation

With Zion as their new companion, Tauro and his party use Ragune’s “Dimensional Corridor” and Tauro’s “Spatial Transfer” to return to their room at the inn  they were staying in the city of Caxart

“Well then, today, let’s choose an appropriate quest at the Adventurers’ Guild and work together to deepen our ties.”

Tauro suggested, and everyone nodded in agreement.

Zion was particularly motivated and seemed eager to impress Tauro and the others.

When we went downstairs to the first floor of the inn, we found the innkeeper talking with the inn’s chef .

“Oh, my guest! I see you  have returned. Just in time. Our cook is insistent that he has something to run by you.”

The chef was someone with whom Tauro had made crab dishes and had hit it off.

“What’s wrong?”

Tauro was no stranger to them, so he responded accordingly.

“Tauro-san, I actually want to make that crab dish into a selling point for my business. Could you help me?”

“That’s a great idea!”

Before Tauro could even reply, the two people who tasted the crab dish, Ragune and Ankh, agreed.

“?”

Zion dis unaware and is therefore out of the loop.

“Of course, it’s all well and good to cooperate, but with what exactly?”

“I was wondering if there was a way to ensure a stable supply of Flaming Crabs. I asked the Adventurer’s Guild, but they told me that since Tauro-san and his friends had been doing the Flame Crabs subjugation quests and had significantly reduced their numbers, so it was up to them to ensure a stable supply…”

It seemed the chef had no one else to rely on other than Tauro and his team.

“Indeed, we were the ones taking the lead in the extermination… but we were hunting them down with the intention of completely eradicating them, so it may be difficult to get a stable supply from now on. Hmm, what should we do…”

 Tauro pondered the situation.

“Do something about that!”*

The chef clasped his hands together in prayer towards the boy in front of him.

“…Flame Crabs are extremely dangerous monsters with high reproductive rates and subjugation ranks, but the danger comes from the fireballs they shoot out from their large left claws, so if we cut them off when they’re big and treat them so they don’t grow back, the danger may drop dramatically. –Okay, shall we try cultivating them?”

“”cultivating?””

Those present questioned back at Tauro’s outlandish idea.

That’s right, the idea of farming monsters doesn’t come up that often.

Tauro is probably the only one who would think of cultivating the Flame Crabs to ensure a stable supply since their proliferation was causing a lot of trouble.

“If this proves successful, I believe it will become a famous attraction not just for this inn but for the whole town. I will discuss it with my father …… lord, who should still be staying at the mayor’s mansion.”

“The lord?”

It was at this point that the cook finally realized that what had simply been a request to serve food at his inn had turned into something ridiculous.

“Guys, can we go see the lord before the Adventurers’ Guild?”

““Good.”” * thumbs up

 Ragune and Ankh agree.

“Is it really that easy to meet them!”

 Zion is honestly surprised.

That’s probably true, no matter how much of a hero Tauro is to him, he should be just a boy to the lord, so there’s no way they could meet him so soon…

Zion thought, but he was immediately given permission to meet him and was ushered into the reception room.

“……!”

Zion was familiar with the mayor’s mansion, having been there many times as a baggage handler for the “gray vultures,” but she had never thought she’d be able to meet the lord so easily, so it came as a surprise.

“Zion, you are not to tell anyone else about what happens here, okay?”

Ankh, with a serious look on his face, tells Zion to keep her mouth shut

 Gulp

As Zion nervously wondered what kind of interaction they were about to have with the lord, when the lord, Count Graunewald, appeared.

“Tauro, it seems you have been out of town for the past few days?”

When he comes in, Zion is surprised to see the lord talking so freely to Tauro.

“I went to the dragon People’s  village to pick up our new friend, Zion.”

 This is about me!

Zion feels nervous now that she is the subject of conversation.

“Oh, is that him?”

“That’s ……, I was wrong, Zion was a girl.”

“What? So she is! Ha-ha-ha. Since Tauro said it was a boy, I assumed you were a boy too.”

Count Graunewald laughed at Tauro’s careless mistake and enjoyed talking about Zion.

I mean, how do you know so much about me!  And why is Tauro-sama so friendly in talking to the lord!?

Zion was alone and confused, while Ragune and Ankh were smiling as they listened to their conversation.

Is this normal for everyone? Am I the only one who is surprised?

Zion became more and more immersed in thought.

“Leader, Zion seems to be confused, so why don’t you explain the situation to her, hahaha!”

Ankh wised up as he noticed that Zion was the only one with a serious expression on her face.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Zion. Count Graunewald here is my father. I’m adopted, though.”

“adding the adopted son part is unnecessary Tauro. I am his father. Zion, please take care of my son as a friend.”

Count Graunewald bowed lightly as he said this.

“No! I, too, am indebted to Tauro-sama for all the help he has given me…! Um… yes! Pleasure to meet you!”

Zion, unable to organize the information in her confused head, hurriedly greeted Count Graunewald.
