Chapter 89: Greenhouse

After explaining to the assembled servants that “Rosalia was only surprised to find the door to my room locked,” they returned, saying, "Oh dear. I'm sorry for making you worry.”

“What is it, Rosalia?”

“What’s wrong, brother? It’s time to go to bed.”

“Yes!　Is it that time already?”

I looked at the clock on the wall of my room and sure enough, Rosalia was right: it was almost time for bed. It seemed that I had been reading a book on magic potions for longer than I had expected.

“Rosalia, if that’s the case, you can sleep with Mira in your own room, you know?”

“But Mira says she’d rather have the three of us. ……”

Really?　I didn’t understand because She only said “kyus”. Well, I’m sure she’ll be lonely until everyone Comes back. It might be a good idea to spend as much time together as possible until the whole family is here. We fell asleep in the shape of the river.

The next day I decided to concentrate on taking care of the greenhouse. Winter will be here soon. If I can build a herb garden in the greenhouse by then, I can harvest even in winter. If I work hard now, I should be able to make it work. Other work will have to wait.

"This is a bag of soil. mother used it to make flower beds."

Judging from what is inside the greenhouse, it was not in this condition from the beginning. Perhaps they used to grow medicinal herbs here in the past. But one day, they stopped growing medicinal herbs here.

By the time I finished taking the old soil and junk outside, all the ivy that had been tangled around the outside of the greenhouse had been removed. The inside of the greenhouse was once again bathed in warm light.

The greenhouse door is opened all the way to replace the air inside.

“Right this way. You can operate it from the panel right here.”

I opened a metal container in a corner of the greenhouse and found a dial and a button inside. The dial seemed to control the temperature, and the button seemed to turn it on and off. There was also a container for magic stones right next to it, but it was empty.

“What kind of magical tool is this, brother?”

“I think it’s a magical tool to warm up this room. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like the type that would emit warm air."

No particular magic tools were found in the room. Then again, maybe it’s in the ground? When I used my “Search” skill, I noticed what looked like piping in the ground. The piping seemed to lead outside.

I followed the piping and found that it led right to the back of the control panel. There was what looked like a bathtub. It was empty inside.

“Is there plumbing under there?”
