After finishing our tour of the garden, we naturally moved on to the herb garden managed by Lady Fabienne. There too, lush green leaves flourished vigorously.

“This is amazing. I’ve visited the herb garden Julius manages at the House Heine estate a few times, but this is every bit as good.”

I hadn’t known that Brother Alex had visited the herb garden. When had he gone to see it? I did know he had been to the greenhouse several times. I wasn’t sure whether he fully understood, but he seemed to grasp what I meant. My herb garden was focused on cultivation, so little attention was paid to appearance. Lady Fabienne looked delighted by Brother Alex and Sister-in-law Daniela’s request. Baron and Baroness Ambert stared in astonishment when they heard it.

Lady Fabienne answered joyfully, while Brother Alex and Sister-in-law Daniela sounded equally pleased. Of course, I was happy too.

“Brother Julius, I’d like to try using it in the greenhouse as well.”

“Sounds good. Once we return to the House Heine estate, let’s make some and test it there. Since the greenhouse can grow all kinds of crops, it’s the perfect place.”

“That makes sense. In that case, can I leave the crop testing to you, Julius?”

“Of course. Leave it to me.”

After touring the Ambert estate, we brought Lady Fabienne back with us by carriage to the House Heine estate.

Those of us who remained went directly to the compounding room to begin making the plant nutrient solution. I needed to learn the method from Lady Fabienne. At last, I was the one being taught by her. The faintly embarrassed look on her face left quite an impression. She had truly grown.

Rosalia went off to her morning lessons. Once they ended, she would want to spend time with me, Lady Fabienne and Nero, so we needed to finish compounding before then. Mira, meanwhile, was lured away by a sweet scent and wandered off toward the kitchen. Perhaps someone was making dried fruit.

Lady Fabienne furrowed her brows with concern. It seemed there was still quite a gap between us in her eyes. I didn’t see it that way, but I did believe the gap was slowly closing.

Together with Lyla-san and Clark-san, the royal magic pharmacists who had come from the capital for training, we learned the recipe from Lady Fabienne. I see—she reduced the amount of certain ingredients and added Giant Bee honey instead. The honey was known for relieving fatigue, and it was probably benefiting the plants as well.

Magic potions held infinite possibilities. With the right idea, one could achieve effects as wonderful as Lady Fabienne’s creation. Of course, the reverse was also true: one could make poisons or magic potions with harmful effects.

Lady Fabienne’s plant nutrient solution would soon be reported to the royal capital. That would formally establish its safety and prevent anyone from criticising her for creating it. The royal magic pharmacists were full of praise, after all.

I believed that Lady Fabienne would one day be officially recognised by the kingdom as a magic pharmacist, just as I had been. Once that happened, she would be free to create even more remarkable magic potions. The possibilities were endless.
