Chapter 430: Seal Your Mouth Quickly

It’s not good to be in the bath while still being in this separated state. The bath should be fun and relaxing. I move next to Fabienne with the same natural movement I’ve become accustomed to. It’s a familiar sight, so there shouldn’t be any problem.

“Did you enjoy our date today?”

“Yes. It was very enjoyable.”

“I’m glad to hear that. Well, let’s go again soon. There are still plenty of tourist spots we haven’t visited yet.”

When I said that and looked at Nero, he nodded vigorously, as if to say, “Leave it to me.” Good, good. It seems like there are not just Plan B, but also C and D. It looks like there are still plenty of things to enjoy in the Mulan Marquisate.

“Julius, about what we discussed earlier with Marquis Mulan, do you have any recollection of it?”

Axel, who had moved over to our side, immediately asked, showing how much he was concerned. Carol’s gaze was also directed here. She was probably curious too, just like Axel. I decided to speak honestly about it. Afterward, I’ll seal their lips.

“Oh, that. I made it rain with magic, and then created wind to dry it.”

Axel and Carol’s faces both took on a look of “I knew it.” Fabienne, as expected, seemed to have figured it out already, and wore a slightly troubled smile, furrowing her brow. Seeing that she didn’t scold me, it seemed she had forgiven me.

“I never thought you were using wind magic too.”

“Huh? Did Isidore know about it?”

“Yeah. I saw you using magic to make it rain.”

“Oh, so that’s why you made that face when the story came up.”

Recalling the scene at that time, Carol nodded repeatedly, as if in agreement. I was a bit curious, but did no one suspect that I was the one who did it? Could it be that I’m seen as the kind of person who would do something like that?

“So, does that mean that the Marquis and his wife were wrong when they said, ‘It’s the work of the gods’?”

“Yeah, that’s probably the case.”

Axel said this while looking at Carol, and Carol, with her hand on her chin, replied thoughtfully. Axel’s gaze was sneaking toward Carol’s chest. I think it’s pretty obvious, but what should I do about it? It seems I’ve created something quite sinful. I hope they’ll get used to it soon.

“Given the way they said it, it might already be spreading as ‘the work of the gods,’ right?”

“Yeah, I think so. So now, there’s no way you can just say, ‘I did it,’ huh?”

I smiled at Isidore. His face stiffened. The bath became completely silent. The first to speak was Axel. His mouth was moving without words.

“I thought you were admitting the truth way too easily. Now, if anyone finds out, no one can talk about it.”

“That’s why, let’s keep it a secret, okay?”

“Julius, that was your plan from the beginning, wasn’t it?”

“Did you figure it out?”

When I said that to Isidore, everyone burst out laughing. Good, good. It looks like my use of magic will stay a secret. I trust everyone, but anyone can slip up and let something slip. Just in case, it’s important to make sure their mouths are sealed properly.

“Hey, Julius, do you think I could use magic to make it rain?”

“It’s an application of Water Shower, so I think you could use it if you practice.”

“That’s the magic we used when we were taking a bath in the garden, right? I see, that’s the prototype. If I launch it upwards, it should make it rain like that, right?”

Isidore begins thinking deeply. When it comes to magic, he’s the type to get so focused that he loses track of his surroundings. He’s probably the one most likely to slip up. It might be a good idea to have someone keep an eye on him.

When I looked at Axel, he nodded in agreement. I think this should be fine.

“What kind of wind magic did you use when drying your hair?”

“Oh, that was just a magic I use to dry my hair. I just used it from a distance over a large area.”

“I-I see. Julius-sama can do something like that as well?”

Fabienne seemed a little taken aback. Did I go too far? It seems like it would be better not to use magic over long distances or in large areas. Well, I don’t think I’ll need to do that unless it’s for something like this.

After that, we talked about tourist spots and cream puffs, then finished up our bath.

Isidore insisted on coming along on the next date. Apparently, he thought he’d miss out on some delicious food if he didn’t come. I’m sure he’ll end up being a nuisance. Both Carol and Axel also made unsure faces.

After we finished our bath, I dried Fabienne’s and Mira’s hair with wind magic, and everyone gathered around. The Mulan Marquis family has air blowers installed, so there shouldn’t be any problem drying their hair with that… but…

“Julius, teach me that magic too.”

“U-Um, if you don’t mind, could you dry my hair as well? I mean, Fabienne and Mira-chan look like they’re really enjoying it.”

“You’re quite the popular one, Julius.”

Axel said that in a somewhat exasperated tone, and after quickly drying his hair with magic, I taught Isidore the magic while also drying Carol’s hair for her.

Isidore had been working on improving his magic control, but he struggled with using weak magic. Plus, he was trying to use both fire and wind magic at the same time. It seemed especially difficult.

“I never thought about using two magics at the same time.”

“Really? There are some combinations that create interesting effects.”

“Julius, tell me more about that.”

“O-Okay.”

Isidore leaned in close, his face almost touching mine. From this angle, it would probably look like we had some kind of relationship. Still, I’m surprised he’d never thought about using magic at the same time. Maybe it’s not good to teach him things like combining magic. I should probably do more research before teaching him. Though, I’ve already taught him the hair-drying magic.
