Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 336: Bold and Audacious

Amid all the excitement, I nearly forgot that there was still another matter to discuss.

I told Brother Alex and Sister-in-law Daniela about the proposal for a second greenhouse.

“Another greenhouse? Now that the Heine Trading Company has formally decided to sell the potions you make, expanding our cultivation space may indeed be necessary.”

“That is true,” Sister-in-law Daniela agreed. “Even if we build up reserves before winter, there is a limit to how much can be stored. A stable supply throughout the cold season would be ideal.”

Neither of them opposed the idea. That meant Father was unlikely to reject it outright. The gardens around the House Heine estate would become slightly smaller, but the Heine Margraviate had no shortage of land.

“Even if we approve it, construction will probably have to wait until the snow melts,” Brother Alex said. “If we place the order then, it should be finished by early summer.”

“If I built it myself, it could be ready almost immediately…”

“Julius.”

Brother Alex smiled as he said my name, but his narrowed eyes made the warning unmistakable. I had said something I should not have.

“You must not take work away from the carpenters. Their livelihoods depend on such commissions. Spending money in a way that benefits the territory is also one of a noble's responsibilities.”

“Y-yes. You are absolutely right. I will not interfere.”

In that case, the Magic Tool Guild would probably handle the environmental magic tools installed in the greenhouse. I could already imagine Rosalia's disappointment.

By then, I hoped to have another magic-tool project ready—something interesting enough to keep her occupied.

As we continued discussing the proposal, the servants announced that dinner was ready. I decided to raise the matter with Father while the momentum was still on my side.

To my surprise, he hesitated. He had no objection to using part of the estate grounds, but another issue concerned him.

“Do you intend to manage the new greenhouse yourself?”

“That is the plan. I would need help from several gardeners, of course. Lady Fabienne would assist me as well. Managing rare ingredients would be valuable experience for her if she intends to become a magic pharmacist.”

Father studied me closely. Mother did the same.

Did they think it was too much responsibility for a child? I believed I could manage it, especially with help from the gardeners and perhaps the territorial knights.

“In that case,” Father said, “Lady Fabienne would need to remain at the House Heine estate even after the roads reopen in spring.”

“Yes, that would be…”

Only then did I realise what I had assumed. Baron Ambert had agreed that Fabienne could stay with us for the winter, not indefinitely.

How careless of me.

“Lady Fabienne, do you object?” Father asked.

“Not at all,” she replied, her cheeks turning red. “Lord Julius has already taught me a great deal, and I wish to learn more. I also hope that we can become closer.”

My fiancée was far too adorable.

I resisted the urge to make a scene in front of everyone. Brother Alex and Brother Cain were already smirking.

“Very well,” Father said. “I approve the new greenhouse. I will speak with Baron Ambert myself. Once spring arrives, however, the two of you must visit House Ambert and pay your respects.”

“Of course, Father.”

The greenhouse project was approved. Construction would take time, so it might not be usable until summer, but it should be ready before the following winter.

Best of all, Fabienne and I would be able to manage it together.

After dinner, I returned to my room and finally relaxed. Even at ten years old, a person needed time alone.

“It worked out well,” Nero said.

“Congratulations, Lord Julius. You can now pursue your cultivation research without worrying about space.”

“A reliable supply of high-quality ingredients will be reassuring. If we can cultivate rare materials, that would be even better.”

While drinking the tea Nero had prepared, I began drafting cultivation plans. I was getting ahead of myself, but there were so many possibilities.

Could we grow Careless Grass or Marc Fruit? That might be too much to hope for, but imagining it was exciting.

As I became absorbed in my notes, the doorbell rang.

Who could it be? Mira would simply open the door, and Rosalia would call out immediately. Perhaps a servant had come to inform me of the bath schedule.

Nero answered the door and returned looking unusually awkward.

“Nero?”

“Lady Fabienne is here.”

“What?”

I hurried to the entrance. Fabienne stood there with flushed cheeks, dressed in a simple robe suitable for going to the bath.

That explained Nero's discomfort. He had not expected to meet her dressed so informally.

Calm down. Count prime numbers. Two, three, five, seven…

“What brings you here at this hour, Fabienne? Did something happen?”

I forced myself to smile, hoping I had misunderstood.

“Um… would you like to take a bath together?”

Oh.

She was far bolder than I had imagined.

Had my careless remark about continuing to live together encouraged her? I had never expected it to lead to this.
