Chapter 103: Gratitude for Everyday

I invited Fabienne, Natalie, and the trio of magical tool creators Edward, Billy, and Platon to the tea party. It seems Rosalia invited her best friend Melissa.

I believe the trio will pursue the path of magical tool crafting. If that's the case, it would be Fabienne, Natalie, and Melissa—the three girls—who could be drawn into the path of alchemy. Let's increase the number of alchemists. Let's do our best.

Originally, I planned to introduce the magical tools I had developed during the tea party, but I decided to include the magic potions I had made so far as well. They should be fine since they are the final works of Grandma.

Nevertheless, because of the restriction that one must graduate and acquire a qualification to create magic potions, I cannot spread the charm of magic potions. If I could show everyone how I make magic potions once, they might be more interested. It feels like a big hindrance.

But on the other hand, I'm illegally making magic potions, right? I have to be aware that I'm a criminal. I can't rely on the fact that Father and Lionel have turned a blind eye to it. I mustn't be complacent.

Let's just introduce them as "Here are some wonderful magic potions." If someone becomes interested, that's a victory. Besides, the main focus is on introducing Mira. We mustn't overshadow the main attraction. Absolutely not.

If that's the case, I should prepare items that will draw the ladies into the world of magic potions, right?

Items that the ladies will be delighted with, magic potion-like items. That would be cosmetics. Pursuing beauty has always been a principle for women in any era. Yes, let's do that.

I remember there were some cosmetics in the game. First, I'll make a toner that can be quickly produced. And I'll also make hand cream since the servants' hands seem to be rough.

Once that's decided, I should get started right away. I locked myself in the preparation room. I put up a sign at the entrance that said "Do Not Enter."

Both toner and hand cream require medicinal herbs as essential ingredients. Medicinal herbs are truly versatile. I only need a few additional ingredients for flavoring.

I put distilled water in a small pot and added the medicinal herbs directly. By slowly heating it, I can extract the subtle healing components from the herbs. I don't need the potent effects of healing potions. It's important that it gradually takes effect when applied daily.

I also added some strawberry seeds. Strawberries have magical power-replenishing properties. By including that component, it adds a magical power recovery boost to the skin's self-regeneration. And I added a pinch of dried and finely crushed antidote grass, which displays antibacterial properties.

The finished toner had a reddish-brown color, which didn't look good. So, I filtered it with porous activated charcoal to make it a clear, colorless solution. Putting it in a visually appealing glass bottle would complete it. The glass bottle was something I made using my "Craft" skill. The lid of the bottle had a bird decoration. It was a product I put a lot of effort into.

Toner: Highest quality. Gives the skin a radiant glow. Effect (Small).

Since I used easily obtainable materials around here, the effect is not very strong. However, it should be just right, not too strong, for girls of a certain age.

I tried applying it to my arm. It indeed gave a radiant glow, but I feel like it's not suitable for men to use. I'm glad I didn't try it on my face. If I did, I would definitely stand out.

"Alright, it's perfect. Now, for the hand cream, it's an extension of the athlete's foot medicine. Let's make it quickly. As for fragrance... Since it's for work, it's better to be unscented."

I mixed medicinal herbs, antidote grass, Cordyceps sinensis, and beeswax to create the hand cream. Since it also turned out to be of the highest quality, the effect should be outstanding.

I immediately went to deliver the finished hand cream to the servants.

The tea party is tomorrow. Everyone should be preparing for it together. Since the weather seems to be good tomorrow, we decided to hold the tea party in the garden. That way, Mira can move around freely, and I can also showcase the performance of the sprinkler I made the other day.

"The preparations for the tea party seem to be going smoothly."

"Julius-sama, everything is proceeding without any issues."

"Thank you as always. This is a token of my appreciation."

"Huh? Ah, thank you?"

The servants received the hand cream with a lot of question marks floating above their heads. I handed out the hand cream to everyone in that manner, regardless of gender. Of course, including the cooks since they also have their share.

I hope they will use it, but it feels a bit dubious, doesn't it? From my perspective, I just wanted to show my gratitude for their daily work, so someone should at least use it.

However, my expectations were completely off. It seemed that the fact that I was making magic potions and that they were being used in the knight order had become an open secret.

The next day, the hands of the servants were sparkling, and their faces were filled with smiles.

I guess I should provide hand cream regularly. As for the toner, let's observe the situation a bit. I have a bad feeling about it. Indeed, it's the highest quality, as they say.

"Julius-sama, the preparations for the tea party are complete. Please do the final check."

"Understood. I'll go there right away."

In the arranged garden, there were five circular tables, and two of them were filled with colorful sweets. Among them were some sweets I had never seen before. They must have checked various shops and prepared new sweets.

"There's no problem. Thank you."

"We don't deserve your thanks."

The servants bowed together. Nobles aren't supposed to express their thanks too much. And yet, maybe because they used to be commoners, they can't be satisfied without receiving thanks.
