Chapter 51: The Future

Day 120 in Another World

It's been four months since I was sent to another world, and I've already become quite accustomed to life here. I am no longer "struggling to live day by day" as I used to be.

Living together with the beastmen and adventuring in the dungeon. The other members were also enjoying the otherworldly fantasy.

It has been nearly three weeks since the Merry Trading Company left the village. However, there was still no word from them. Negotiations with the council may have been difficult, but there is a possibility that they are involved in some kind of trouble, which makes me worry.

(Well, we'll just have to wait and see. I looked at the status and the number of villagers hasn't decreased, so it's probably not life-threatening.)

Expecting that Merinard and the others will do well, we are also preparing to accept them on a daily basis.

In the village, the second tenement house has been completed, and the immigrant tenement house, which was left out of the selection process, will be completed in a few days. Outside the boundaries, construction work is still in progress. In the dungeon, a tenement house for about 10 people has been completed, and it is now ready to provide a decent living environment, including cooking.

The villagers are making good progress in leveling up, with one of the earliest reaching level 20, and plans call for this to continue. The higher the level, the better.

In the beginning, I was the one who defeated the orcs that came close to the ward. However, after Rad and the other warriors were able to defeat them, I threw myself into the task, including the selection of villagers. I myself was not that busy, but Rad offered to help me, so I took advantage of his goodwill.

I also made it a basic premise that we would not overreach ourselves in the dungeon, but I left the strategy and speed of progress to everyone else.

We can get meat and monster materials from the dungeon, and the village can produce food stably. There is also plenty of room for housing. Thanks to the efforts of Beritoa and Natsuki, the equipment and furniture necessary for daily life have become quite well equipped. Above all, the presence of the barrier gives a great sense of security to life in the village.

And so, I am finally in a position where I feel like a village chief. I have more free time to think things over.

(It's time to think long and hard about the future, isn't it?)

I should think not about immediate goals, but about the future. With this in mind, I began to think carefully.

First and foremost is the question of "Can I go back to Japan? When you can understand another world language and there is a game-like system, there is no doubt that someone has intervened.

The transferees, including myself, have not been informed of the reason or purpose of our otherworldly transfer. However, there is a possibility that the heroes and saints in the human territory are in contact with supernatural beings.

In any case, they went to the trouble of summoning a large number of people to another world. I should not think that they will return us readily. Moreover, the place of transfer was inappropriate, and many people were killed by monsters right away. The person who summoned us to this world is definitely not a good person.

And to be honest, I myself don't want to go back. I know this is probably because of the special power I have gained from my [Village Skill].

As long as I don't drown in excessive power and go down the path of destruction myself, I can live a more enjoyable life than I did when I was in Japan. When I think about it, I have no desire to go back home. I would check the thoughts of the Japanese people in the village when the time was right.

The next thing to think about is "how to relate to this world.”

As far as we know, there are only two races on this continent: humans and beastmen. It seems that there will be a war, but I don't think we can do anything about it.

As for the act of war itself, in the end, the winner is righteous. It is meaningless to think about which side is good and which side is evil, and I don't care about it at all.

Nevertheless, if the human race swallows the beastmen, there is a very high possibility that the Nanashi village will be harmed. As long as the beastman territory serves as a bulwark against the village, we believe that some level of support is necessary.

(Well, this depends on the report from Merinard.)

And finally, 'site expansion related'. There is not much room for expansion, so I am assuming that the skill level will increase. ......

First of all, we want to extend the property to the southern coast to secure salt and seafood. This would also have the advantage of completely dividing the continent east and west. As for expanding the village, that can wait as there is still a lot of open land.

Instead, it is better to expand the area near the mountain range in the north and develop the mines. There is a river nearby, and the conditions for living are good.

Based on the trend so far, I think we will gain a tremendous amount of area when the next capacity is released. We were just expecting to have a lot of room to expand the southern coast and the mines in the north.

(Oh, there was one crucial thing left to do: ......)

Now that we have a good foundation for living, we need to clarify our 'relationship with these women.’ With this in mind, I made up my mind to go and tell them.
