Chapter 50: Monster Respawn
Day 109 of my life in another world
I'm heading to the dungeon again this morning. -but I will be in charge of maintaining the surrounding area, so the adventure is not about to begin.
Aside from that, yesterday's first exploration of the dungeon seems to have confirmed goblins, big boars, and giant spiders; the second level was the same monsters, but apparently the overall level had increased. Still, so far there are no traps, and we seem to be progressing well.
Incidentally, the [collection] skill was still active even after defeating the monsters in the dungeon. I was outside the dungeon, too, and my level had gone up by one.
“We start with the third level today, don't we?”
“Yes, that's the plan.”
"Please proceed with caution. We have plenty of time. There is no need to rush."
“Yes, sir. We will take our time while mapping the area.”

"We are also planning to hunt monsters on the 1st and 2nd floors. We will continue to verify the appearance frequency of monsters."
"Yeah, let me know if you find any rules.”
As we walked toward our destination while talking like this, we saw orcs hitting the barrier around the perimeter of the plaza. They must be very angry because they were prevented from entering the dungeon where they were to feed.
“It was right to put the barrier here, it seems to be working well as a trap to gather the monsters, so we can level up outside.”
“Shall we defeat them with magic for now?”
"Hmm, wait a minute. It's a good opportunity, and I want to try to see if I can deal with two of them at the same time. If anything happens, everyone will be there."
“Then we'll be far away, so please go with Tsubaki and the others.”
“All right, all three of us will be close by."
We are heading toward the orcs with Tsubaki, Natsuki, and Rudrug in tow. The orcs are at their angriest when they notice us, and they are yelling excitedly.
“Fugohohoh! Fugafugah!”
"I'll bring it to the point of dying, so if possible, give it the finishing blow after that. You don't have to force it."

I thought it would be tough against the orcs, so I called out to them, but all three of them seemed to have a motivated look on their faces.
After facing the orc across the barrier, I copied the swordsmanship skill and slashed with my sword from within the barrier. First, I aimed at the arm of the orc on the right and cut off the arm holding the weapon. With a thud, the orc's arm falls.
"Gaaaaaaaah!”
With the orc screaming as it held its severed arm to the side, i aimed his sword at the other orc's leg and cut it off. With my swordsmanship skills and increased strength, i cut off the orc's leg without any resistance.
“Ugaaaa......"
With my sword, i cut off the first orc's leg as well.
I give follow-up attacks to the orcs who have lost their balance and fallen, confirming that they are completely unable to move, and have the three of them finish them off. Then, the two orcs dispersed while emitting a black mist, leaving the orc meat and magic stones behind.
“Keisuke-san, you did a great job! With this, you can handle even three orcs!”
“It's all thanks to the experience points I got from everyone and my swordsmanship skills.”
“Oh, all three of you have gone up three levels at once!”

The three of them were very happy to hear that from Haruka who appraised them.

After seeing my battle scene, the clearing group immediately entered the dungeon.
“Now, we're going to get to work! We'll start with logging and securing materials.”
Rudrug gave the order, and we set about our respective tasks. Tsubaki and I cut down the trees and pruned the branches, and Natsuki processed more and more wood. Using the materials, Rudrug was building a workbench.
The facilities we plan to build at this location are a tenement house that can accommodate about 10 people, a toilet, plus a cooking area and a large tub for storing and putting water. The bath was put on hold for the time being, since it would be difficult to boil water without Sakura’s water magic.
“Chief, what are you going to do about storing the loot we got in the dungeon?”
“I would like to build a storage warehouse for transferring the loot.”
“I'll start with the warehouse, and I'm counting on you, Natsuki-san.”
“Grandpa Rudo, leave it to me!”
"Okay, if you'd like me to prepare some, I'll adjust it for you later."
“Yes, sir!”
The coordination between these two was becoming more and more effective. Even without much discussion, they seemed to be in perfect communication with each other.
The work went smoothly, the warehouse was completed before noon, and now the restrooms were under construction. During the lunch break, two orcs appeared, but we were able to kill them without any difficulty, and enjoyed the experience and the meat.
"Maybe my physical strength has improved? It's not a burden at all when carrying wood!"

Both of them seem to feel the benefits of leveling up. Rudrug, in particular, would think that way even more because of the skill correction.
“How much do you plan to raise the level of the villagers, Keisuke-san?”
“I think level 20 for the time being. With that level, I think it is possible to defeat the monsters around the village with ease.”
“That means all villagers will be at the same level as orcs, right?”
“I want them to be able to defend themselves to some extent.”
When the installation of toilets and tubs was finished, everyone returned from the dungeon. As we headed back to the village, we reported to each other about the day's progress.
“Everyone seems to be all right.”
“We went down to the fourth level today. There are some changes in the monsters that appear.”
"Oh, how?"
“The level of the monsters has increased to around 15, and the names of the goblins have changed. Goblin fighters and goblin archers.”
“That's another classic. Are there any differences in appearance?”
“The fighters were equipped with swords and leather armor. Archers use bows. Also, the ...... physique seems to be a little bigger.”
Unfortunately, the swords and armor did not seem to drop, but Sakura and her team said it is still too early to draw any conclusions since they have not made many attempts. The big boars and giant spiders also seem to be large in stature and high in level. They also said that the amount of materials is much more efficient than hunting in the forest.
"We have a report, too, about the reappearance of monsters.”
Rado said that the monsters are only re-spawned in the small rooms, and although they may walk along the corridors, they do not seem to be spawned on the corridors.
He told us that when they are spawned, a black blur emerges from the ground and takes about 20 seconds to form. The time between the next appearance is random, and it can be as early as one hour, and some rooms did not spawn that day.

Day 115 of living in another world
One week has passed since we discovered the dungeon. After returning to the village today, we were sharing information over dinner.
In the boss room on the fifth level, one hobgoblin with a large machete and equipped with leather armor, and three cronies, goblin fighters and archers, were waiting for us. However, because of the difference in level and the ability to attack first with magic, they were able to defeat the goblins without any particular difficulty.
After clearing out the boss room, a black stone pillar appeared from the ground in the center of the room. A magic circle seemed to have developed around the stone pillar. As in other dungeons, by entering the magic circle and touching the stone pillar, the player was able to instantly move to the first level of the transition zone.
Incidentally, there were no treasure chests or rare materials dropped by defeating the hierarchical bosses, only the usual waistcoat and magic stones. Since everyone had high expectations, they were disappointed with this result.
Once they descended to the 6th level, the monsters appeared and only orcs appeared. We are currently investigating and attacking the seventh level, and the level of orcs is around 25, and we encounter them in groups of three to six, depending on the room.
However, they haven't seen any monsters other than orcs, and it seems that the higher level species, such as orc fighters or mages, haven't appeared yet.
“What was it like for Rad and his men?"
I had asked Rad and the other members of the rabbit fighters to continue to hunt and investigate up to the fifth level.
“So far, there seems to be no regularity in the interval between the reappearance of the monsters. Even in the same room, there are variations each time.”
“Even the type and number of monsters that reappear?”
“The monsters that appear before the fifth level are goblins, boars, hares, and spiders. It seems that a few of them are selected from among them and spring up.”

After that, we all had a good time, talking about how we were doing in the dungeon and how the village was developing.
