Just another Isekai Lover~
Chapter 69: Information Gathering
I spent about two hours exploring the royal capital.
I checked out several places that sell vegetables and fruits, but I still haven’t found a shop that would buy from me.
I tried asking around a few times, but every store already has contracts with existing farmers. The only places willing to take on new suppliers either offer ridiculously low prices or are shady, possibly illegal operations.
Hmm… I really didn’t want to rely on Velvet-san, but I might have no choice.
I’ve been avoiding asking for her help because I wanted to interact with people as a regular person rather than going through the princess. However, in this situation, I don’t have any other options.
Still, I’ll only ask for information. I’ll handle the rest on my own.
With that decision made, I headed to the royal castle.
Fortunately, the guards seemed to recognize me, so I was able to get through to Velvet-san without much trouble.
This is the first time I’ve met her at the castle since she was acting distant with me, so it felt a little strange.
“Oh, it’s really you, Sato. Did you come here for something?”
This time, I was taken to Velvet-san’s royal chamber.
Rather than a woman’s bedroom, it felt more like an official royal space—extravagantly decorated but completely devoid of any personal touch.
Oddly enough, her study had a stronger sense of being lived in.
“Yes. Actually, I want to sell the crops we’re growing near the villa, so I’m looking for a buyer.”
“What?! You’re selling crops from another world?! Then I’ll buy as much as you have!”
Velvet-san leaned forward eagerly, immediately offering to purchase them.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind selling to her, but it feels like I’m relying on her too much, and I don’t like that.
“Sorry, but I want to sell them through normal channels. Also, I’m not sure yet if the crops from my world will actually grow properly here. Most likely, I’ll just be selling regular crops from this world.”
Even in the fields that Thread cleared, we’re growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables, but I still don’t know if they’ll actually thrive in this world.
I think they only grew in my skill-based farm because of my unique abilities.
Even if they do grow, it’ll take time, and the current harvest isn’t enough to sell in bulk.
Plus, growing crops using NP is incredibly expensive. Until I can start collecting and replanting seeds from my own harvests, these crops will mostly be for our own consumption.
“Hmm… I see. If it’s not an otherworldly crop, then there’s no point in me buying it. In that case, should I introduce you to a good trading partner?”
“No, if you introduce me directly, they’ll feel pressured to do business with me. I’d prefer if you could just give me information about potential buyers.”
“What’s with that?! Do you think I’m some kind of powerful influence?”
“No, no! I didn’t mean it in a bad way. It’s just that you are a princess, and I don’t want anyone feeling obligated to deal with me because of that.”
“…Well, I suppose some people would feel pressured. But personally, I wouldn’t mind being treated favorably because of my status.”
She let out a sigh but then smiled.
“Fine, I get it. I’ll just give you the information.”
“Thank you so much. I’ll make sure to compensate you properly.”
“Wait, seriously?! Does that mean I get the next volume of manga?!”
“Yes, but only one book. I hope that’s okay.”
“Even one book is amazing! You have no idea how valuable those are. Normally, no one would trade an entire book just for some basic information! But since I appreciate special treatment, I’ll gladly take it!”
Velvet-san grinned as she quickly wrote down the names of potential buyers on a piece of paper.
Since I promised her the next manga volume, she even went the extra mile and prepared a map of the royal capital for me.
“I marked the locations on the map, so you shouldn’t get lost.”
“Thank you so much. This really helps.”
“Well, honestly, I think I’m getting the better deal here. If all of these fall through, just let me know. I’ll use my royal authority to help you out.”
“No, I’ll try to avoid relying on that… Oh, before I go, can I ask one more thing?”
“Of course! Ask me anything.”
“Actually, I need to prepare a gift for a master carpenter. Do you have any good ideas?”
I figured I might as well ask for advice, but after a moment of thought, Velvet-san shook her head.
“Sorry, I have no clue. The only things that make me happy are manga and food from another world. But if you don’t have a strong relationship with the carpenter, I doubt he’d care about your cooking.”
“Yeah, since he’s an older man, I don’t think he’d appreciate my homemade food, no matter how delicious it is.”
I don’t know his exact age, but since he’s Rozzo-san’s older brother, he’s definitely an old man.
And given that he likes beautiful women, a random guy handing him homemade food probably won’t go over well—no matter how tasty it is.
“Then I have no idea. Maybe you should ask Donnie? He might know what an old man would like.”
“Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Donnie-san. Isn’t he usually with you?”
“Why would I let him into my personal chambers? He only follows me when I go out. Right now, he’s probably practicing swordsmanship in the courtyard. Ever since you gave him those contact lenses, he’s been fired up about fighting again.”
He was really strong during our mock battle.
If my gift helped him get back into combat, then I’m glad I gave it to him.
“That’s great to hear. In that case, I’ll head to the courtyard and ask for his advice. Velvet-san, feel free to visit again anytime.”
“Of course. I’ll definitely stop by again soon.”
After handing her the next volume of manga, I left Velvet-san’s room.
Now that I had information on potential trading partners, I’d go talk to Donnie-san and then start making my rounds.
I really have to say… the people in this world are incredibly kind.
Feeling grateful for all the support I’ve received, I made my way to the courtyard.
