Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 343: The Capital Group and the Stay-Behind Group

I didn’t understand why Daniela, my sister-in-law, was so disappointed, so I glanced at Alex-niisan.

Noticing this, my older brother furrowed his brows. It seemed like he was troubled.

“Daniela-sama is also supposed to return to the royal capital with us.”

“Why?”

I couldn’t help but raise my voice. After all, it made sense. I had thought that sister-in-law Daniela would stay at the Heine Frontier Count household from here on out.

What about her work with the trading company? They had been so enthusiastic about it together. Of course, sister-in-law Daniela would be disappointed.

“There are still tasks left in the royal capital. This visit was part of her bride training, after all.”

“But the Heine Trading Company needs sister-in-law Daniela’s help!”

As I passionately explained, sister-in-law Daniela quietly embraced me from behind. I could tell she was crying. This was bad. Very bad. It seemed that I had made my sister-in-law Daniela cry.

I felt something cold run down my back. At the same time, there was a soft, round sensation, like a steamed bun, but I didn’t have the luxury to enjoy it.

“Thank you, Julius-chan. I’m so happy that you think that way.”

“Sister-in-law Daniela… It’s not just me. Everyone in the Heine Frontier Count’s household feels the same way.”

Looking around, everyone nodded with solemn expressions. The strength of sister-in-law Daniela’s arms around me grew stronger.

“Thank you. I’ll finish my work in the royal capital properly, and I’ll come back here as soon as I can.”

At first, her voice trembled, but by the end, it was strong.

During this winter, sister-in-law Daniela didn’t just have fun. She had built up solid achievements. When she returns to the royal capital, she will no doubt take care of her tasks as promised and return quickly.

“We’ll be waiting for you, Daniela-sama. As Julius said, the Heine Trading Company needs your strength. Until you return, I’ll make sure to keep Alex in line.”

“Father, I’m not a child anymore, so I don’t need you to keep me in line.”

Alex-niisan, was smiling wryly. Seeing this, everyone laughed.

Parting is lonely. But, I want to make it a joyful parting, not a sad one.

The preparations for heading to the royal capital were progressing at a rapid pace.

Once the snow began to melt, everyone would start moving. It wasn’t just the Heine Frontier Count household.

Cain-niisan and Mika, my sister-in-law, had gone to the capital’s town to buy the necessary items for their life at the royal academy.

As expected, the number of people coming to the Heine Trading Company continued to rise. It seemed that Alex-niisan had decided to hire additional employees earlier than planned. Sister-in-law Daniela was helping with that, so she was very busy.

As for me, I was checking on the craftsmen and inspecting the depletion of materials.

I’m glad I had them keep a record of the materials. It made the inspection process much easier.

I wonder if the royal palace’s potion makers are properly recording the materials for their magic potions. If I ever go to the royal capital, I’ll have to check on that.

“This will require additional materials. The stationery is selling better than expected. It seems pencils and erasers are especially popular.”

“That seems to be the case. It looks like the merchants are buying them in large quantities.”

Nero, flipping through his notebook, said this. He was like a ninja. I wonder if I should assign some subordinates to Nero.

As I was thinking that, Fabienne came in holding a letter.

“Julius-sama, a reply to your letter from Father has arrived. He says you’re welcome to visit him anytime.”

“I see. Thank you, Fabienne. In that case, I’ll go two days from now. I’ll write a letter, and it would be nice if you could add a word from you as well.”

“Understood.”

Fabienne smiled happily. It had been a while since she’d seen her parents. Of course, she’d be happy. The gift for Baron Amber and his wife had already been prepared. There was no oversight.

“Julius-sama, the blueprint for the greenhouse has arrived. Please take a look.”

“Got it, Nero. It looks like we’re going to be busy for a while.”

“Yes, it seems so.”

The three of us smiled wryly. Things were going to get busier, and, as if to add pressure, the three of them would be heading to the royal capital.

Until now, it hadn’t been so hectic, but as the territory developed, it seemed the lord’s household would become busier too. Moving forward, the challenge would be gathering reliable personnel.

Two days later, Fabienne, Nero, and I headed to Baron Amber’s household. Snow still remained on the roads of the capital, but it wasn’t so much that it hindered movement. There were also a fair number of people walking through the capital.

“Thank you for allowing us to visit today.”

“Not at all, Julius-sama. My daughter has been in your care over the winter.”

“That is not true. On the contrary, we are the ones who are grateful. Without Miss Fabienne’s help, the Heine Trading Company would have faltered.”

“No, no, that’s not the case.”

After greeting at the entrance, we made our way to the salon. Tea had already been prepared. The room temperature was just right, thanks to the air blower, making it very comfortable.

From the window, the white snow landscape spread out. At this time of year, every house likely had a similar view.

“I’ve brought the glass pens, the magic stone pocket heaters, and the fountain pens that we promised. I’m afraid the magic stone pocket heater is a bit out of season now.”

“That’s not a problem at all. The cold days will continue for a while. Thank you.”

“My, how wonderful. Is it really all right for me to receive such gifts?”

The lady looked at the glass pens and fountain pens, her eyes wide with surprise. Both were made with the finest materials. Even high-ranking nobles probably wouldn’t have them. After all, only royalty would possess something even more luxurious. I wonder if she would faint if she knew. I’ll keep that to myself.
