Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 1: After a new spring (Part two)

The date goes back about a year.

The last time I saw her was in April, when Clausel was in the springtime sunshine.

When you think about it, a lot happened in the last winter.

There was a young lady whose life was saved by the material of Thief Wolfen that Ren defeated. Her name is Fiona Ignat.  In Legend of the Seven Heroes I, she was the only daughter of Marquis Ignat who was the last boss and rebelled against Leomel—-

Ren met her in the Baldor Mountains, where he was fortunate enough to visit, and he was assigned to fight in her defense.

The incident in which all of them were set up by the Demon king’s cult is particularly fresh in the memory, as the Baldor Mountains were in the midst of the final examinations for the Imperial Cadet Academy’s prized special class.

After that incident, Ren devoted himself to resting his body, but he still couldn’t avoid contact with Marquis Ignat, and they occasionally exchanged letters.

However, he was rarely asked about the incident.

Ren had lied about the rumor he had overheard in the guild, but Marquis Ignat didn’t question him further. Marquis Ignat probably didn’t want to make Ren feel bad by asking him about it. He probably decided that it would be better for his future if he and Ren had a good relationship.

In reality, however, Ren had no way to answer the request for further information. He had played only up to Legend of the Seven Heroes II, so he had no further information about the Demon king’s cult.

He could remember where they appeared, but it was difficult to know at this stage.

Ren, who was thinking about various things was in the old house of the Clausel family.

He was in charge of the old house and was about to start cleaning it.

The old house is now being cleaned.

Ren thinks as he basks in the late afternoon sunlight streaming in through the window.

“……I think Asval’s fire was more dazzling than this sunlight.”

The fire dragon Asval was imperfectly revived by Fiona’s power at the time of the winter incident.

That power is the power of the black priestess.

According to Fiona, the black priestess is like a saint to monsters.

Originally, it wasn’t the power to revive the dead as undead, but perhaps it’s because Asval had a power that separated him from other monsters that he was able to revive. The “magical power that gives power to monsters” possessed by the black priestess miraculously had some influence…

Instead, Asval had an incomplete resurrection.

The dragon, which has been legendary since the days when the seven heroes were alive, was powerful despite its imperfection. If Asval had been resurrected with its original power, Ren wouldn’t have been able to win.

“I too was strengthened by Fiona-sama’s power.”

Ren thinks back further.

The black blood that flowed from Fiona’s body gave Ren some kind of power.

“……I wonder what it was all about in the end.”

The world that I wandered into after I blacked out and the black magic sword I found there.

Besides, it remains a mystery that the flaming magic sword obtained from Asval’s magic stone had changed its name and was then called the “Flaming Sword Asval”.

For Ren, he cannot help but think that they were influenced by the power of the Black Priestess.

It was hard to believe that they were unrelated, along with the fact that one part of the Black Priestess’ power, the magical power that empowers monsters—- had disappeared after that incident.

In any case thinking about it doesn’t give him an answer.

After thinking back to the winter, Ren turned his attention to cleaning the mansion.

When the light shone in from outside the window, Ren sat down on a chair placed in the hallway of the second floor of the old building.

The sunlight, which had tilted while he was hard at work cleaning, reflected off Ren’s bracelet.

Ren then looked at the bracelet and saw the words reflected on its crystal.

Ren’s power has undergone a marked change compared to before the opening of winter.

In the Baldor Mountains, he gained proficiency from steel-eating gargoyles in addition to Asval, and he has accumulated other proficiencies gained from hunting.

After the Asval fight, which raised his level of magic sword summoning techniques, he also gained one tantalizing piece of information.

*Level 5: Open the evolution of the magic sword.*

This information didn’t stop Ren’s interest.

The wooden magic sword had been accumulating proficiency and was no longer being advanced in level. If that was for evolution, for taking steps, it made a lot of sense.

I was pleased with the physical ability UP (medium), but I was even looking forward to the results of the evolution.

……It is hard to imagine if the flame magic sword will evolve or not.

(I have a feeling that the flame sword, Asval, will be different.)

Unlike other magic swords, the flame magic sword no longer gains proficiency because Asval doesn’t exist and its magic stone has been shattered by Ren. Therefore, he had to assume that Fiona’s power and the black magic sword had something to do with the change of the flaming magic sword.

But in any case, the wooden magic sword is promising.

“Let’s try a little harder again.”

As soon as Ren muttered.

“Ren!”

Suddenly, Ren, who was on the second floor, heard a voice from outside the window.

He opens the window to see Licia looking up at him and waving.

“My father wants to see you, so if you have time, could you come to the main residence? He asked if you would like to have dinner with him.”

“I understand! I’ll come after I sweat it out!”

Licia smiled prettily and was delighted when Ren replied.

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

The topic of the evening was Ren’s birthday party, which ended just a few days ago.

Last year, Licia regretted not being able to celebrate Ren’s birthday. That is why this year’s party was held under Licia’s leadership.

As the meal progressed with this conversation, Baron Clausel, or Lessard, opened his mouth and said, “Well”.

“Ren, you can take some time off from work starting next week.”

“—-?”

Ren was stunned by the abrupt words.

(This is the so-called example of offering time off.)

In other words, he was fired.

But it’s impossible. There was no way that Lessard would say such a thing, and even if he did, there was no way that Licia would forgive him.

And even Ren didn’t really think so.

He was just surprised by the sudden words.

“I’m sorry I startled you. I was talking about what we discussed regarding the winter —-“

“You were talking about me going back home for the winter?”

Lessard nods his head in agreement with “mhmm”.

“As I told you before, there is some construction going on around the Ashton family’s village, including the roadway and the wall surrounding the village.”

“So I can go and help out in the village? Besides, as I recall, I was told that I should return in secret, just in case there was a matter with Viscount Givens……”

“Then don’t worry about it. I’ve become more acquainted with Marquis Ignat. It’s unlikely that the Ashton family’s village will be attacked. Don’t worry about anything and enjoy your homecoming.”

I remember the winter when Lessard said this.

He said that he had hoped to send Ren home a little earlier, but the incident in the Baldor Mountains had made it a little later than planned.

He also said that due to the urgency of the decision, it wasn’t possible to contact Ren’s parents in advance.

“We won’t be in Clausel during this time, so don’t worry about anything and just relax.”

Ren who had doubts about these words tried to ask, but Licia spoke up before he could.

“Father? Is this about what you mentioned earlier?”

“Of course, Licia too.”

“…. um, do you have plans for me to go away as well?”

Apparently, Licia hadn’t heard of it either, and she tired  her head cutely.

“We need to go to Elendil. As you both know, the recent turmoil has kept the factions busy, but there’s also the matter of last year’s event regarding Viscount Givens. I think it’s about time I made an appearance over there as well.”

As Ren listens to the conversation, he thinks about Elendil.

Elendil is a town near the imperial capital. The town is where Ren had the stereotype that the Clausel family’s territory was there as soon as he became Ren.

(Which means it must be via a magic ship from some other territory.)

As Ren had expected, Lessard mentioned it.

They are going south by horse to the town of Tokaido, and from there they’ll take a magic ship to Elendil. The reason is that there’s a magic ship terminal in Elendil as well as in the imperial capital.

“Hey, hey, Ren.”

“Yes? What is it?”

“Do you want to go to Elendil too?”

When asked, Ren folded his arms and looked up at the ceiling.

(Erendil huh?)

It’s almost like the imperial capital, if you can call it that.

For Ren, who had avoided the Imperial Cadet Academy, it was as evasive a place to go as the Baldor Mountains.

That said, it’s not as if he can avoid it in the future….

(…… Seems impossible)

As long as Ren was taken care of by the Clausel family, it seemed difficult to see how he could ignore Elendil. Now, even for free, he has a connection with Marquis Ignat. It was even more special since he had also had a dramatic encounter with Fiona during the recent turmoil.

“I might be lying if I said I wasn’t interested—-“

“Really? Then let’s go together next time!”

If Licia has the opportunity to visit, it is inevitable in the end.

Taking into account the fact that the threat of the demon king’s cult had just attacked, it was easier to protect Licia if I was by her side.

“Look forward to it. Elendil is a very beautiful town.”

“Licia, since you’re talking about Ren who’s diligent, he must know about Elendil, right?”

“Father! I tried to teach Ren about it…..!”

“Ha ha, but it’s still about Ren, isn’t it?”

Licia stares at Ren, wondering how it actually is.

She was trying to teach me, but I wondered if I should tell her that I knew every inch of it. After some hesitation, Ren chose his words.

“I heard that there’s an efficient hunting ground……”

His words made Licia and Lessard look at him with a puzzled look on their faces.
