Chapter 218: The Consequences of Overeating
With Ankh revealing the names of his still-unidentified employers, Aeris testifying as Marquis Van Dyne’s daughter, and Tauro presenting the royal crest as final proof, the investigators posing as messengers finally accepted their explanation.
The investigators visited Tauro’s home the next morning, apologized for their rudeness, and returned to the city of Dareder.
Relieved that he could finally breathe again, Tauro declared that Black-Gold Wings would take the day off.
Ankh went to the Resting Pavilion for a morning drink, while Ragune decided to return to her village through [Dimensional Corridor]. Aeris wanted to accompany her, but Ragune explained that the corridor was only just large enough for one person.

“Yes. I’m the only one who can pass through it. Still, I’ve been eating a lot of pork cutlets lately, and I’m worried that I may have gained weight.”
Even on her day off, Ragune put on her armor and decided to test whether she could still use the corridor normally.

Tauro headed out, leaving Aeris behind.
“Wait. I’m coming too.”
Aeris quickly followed him.
“So, Tauro, what are you really planning to do today?”
Aeris asked with a knowing look.
“Aeris, can’t you do something about that intuition of yours?”
Tauro replied in exasperation.
“You wouldn’t go for a walk without a reason. Did you acquire another ability?”
“This one is probably normal. I acquired [Magic Manipulation] (Extreme).”
Tauro answered honestly.
“What? Even ordinary [Magic Manipulation] is rarely acquired, even by advanced magicians. As far as I know, it improves the efficiency of magic-power consumption. But most of the magic you can use is simple spirit magic or dark-spirit magic, so I don’t know how useful it’ll be.”
