Just another Isekai Lover~

Chapter 11: Living conditions change little by little (Part one)

After the first day of investigation, I couldn’t go to the forest for many days.

The reason was that Licia was at the mansion.

Fortunately, however, Licia was scheduled to leave Clausel for an overnight stay a few days later, so I decided to work hard during that time.

Work was going well every day.

The investigation requested by Lessard was successful enough, and the reward was as rewarding as the first hunt.

He was also able to prepare funds for the purchase of magical tools, which was his goal, as planned.

So Ren bought some magic tools in town and asked a knight who was going to the village of the Ashtons to carry them.

Naturally, he’d also bought a wallet well in advance of that time.

—- About a month after the first investigation.

Lately, he hadn’t been able to go hunting because Licia was at the mansion, but there was one thing that he was waiting for, and he was looking forward to it.

“Ren-dono, here you go.”

One morning, the Clausel family servant handed him a letter.

It was a letter from Roy and Mireille.

It was the message Ren had been waiting for, brought by a knight who had just returned to Clausel from the village where Ren was born.

“Thank you.”

Ren thanks the servant who left him alone at the desk in the guest room.

He lavishly uses his iron magic sword to cut the seal on the letter and looks inside.

There, many thanks to Ren were listed.

(…… thank goodness)

Roy and everyone were very grateful for Ren’s gift of magic tools.

The gift was some magic tools to replace street lamps, which have brightened the darkened village streets and helped the old villagers.

The magic stones they need are plentiful because Roy hunts and there’s no shortage of them.

After the thanks, there’s a note of thoughts for Ren and a request not to overdo it.

However, Ren thinks.

(If I can send money like this, maybe this kind of life isn’t so bad.)

Besides, it would be better for the village if I wasn’t there.  If I didn’t become a spark and cause a ruckus like the one that broke out earlier in the spring.

Ren left his desk and asked the servant in the hallway as he left the guest room.

He asked about the whereabouts of the knight who had just returned from the Ashtons’ village.

The knight was in one of the hallways, and when he asked him how things were in the village, he replied

“Everyone was very happy. It was as if there was a festival in the village, and especially Roy and Mireille were in tears because of your success.”

“Thank you very much……. I’m glad to hear that.”

After thanking the Knight, Ren left the hallway.

Walking faster than usual through the mansion, he made his way to Lessard’s office.

After knocking and listening for an answer, he enters and finds him at the desk at the far end of the room.

“I see you’ve received a good report. I’d love to hear it.”

Ren approached the desk where Lessard was.

He talks about the letter he has just received.

“My parents and the people of the village were pleased with the magical equipment I gave them.”

“Oh, that’s good to hear.”

At least Ren’s migrant work is not in vain.

On the other hand, Ren’s activities, which can be described as warrior training, are good for his future.

And since he’s accumulating funds to support himself, those concerns are also being addressed.

Furthermore, Weiss was planning to teach him full-fledged imperial swordsmanship in the near future.

“Have some of the concerns you had previously been alleviated?”

“Maybe…. At least I found out that there are things I can do for the village, even though I’m far away in Clausel. Besides, Weiss-sama is teaching me to use a sword and I intend to expand my insight while doing something I can’t do in the village.”

This time he was more strongly determined than before.

I need to be stronger and grow.

As long as there’s a possibility that my existence could become the spark of something, I want to support the village from another place in this way so as not to cause trouble for the village.

So by no means am I devoted to any one thing.

In order to support myself, I hunt monsters and learn to use a sword from Weiss.

I was going to visit them without being asked, but as Lessard asked, dueling Licia will be a part of my new life.

I’ll continue this life, at least until the reconstruction of the village is complete.

“So, first, I will rent a house.”

“You said before that you want to be on your own, right?”

“Yes. Now that I can earn my own money, I have to be on my own from now on.”

As I said before, it pains me to be under the care of Lessard all the time.

Ren reiterated that he had already been thanked enough and told Lessard that he was going to put his long-standing plan into action now that he had more money to spare.

But then Lessard chuckled.

“I forgot to tell you that it would be difficult to rent a house with you alone.”

“Eh, why is that?”

“I want you to think this through. How old are you?  And do your parents live nearby?  This would make it difficult for the landlord to rent the house.”

(Really?)

On second thought, there’s no way he could rent a house that way.

Who would act as a guarantor?

“Ren, you may be all grown up, but you’re only eleven.”

In fact, in this world, unlike his previous life, he’s on his own very quickly.

But even so, cases of people renting a house and fending for themselves at this age are extremely rare.

While special circumstances, such as the loss of his parents, may be an option, in Ren’s case, there are no such circumstances.

Besides, in Ren’s case, he had a connection with the Clausel family, and it was thought that the lender of the house would also be at a loss to delegate.

There aren’t many people in this town who would be attracted to a connection with the nobility.

(I can’t even ask Lessard-sama to do this for me.)

It would be undesirable to be taken care of any longer.

What then should I do?

When I was at a loss for an answer, Lessard made a suggestion.
